crafting feat questions?

Unread post by AccessSearchFunction »

I am specifically curious about:
Craft Magical Arms and Armor
https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title ... _and_Armor

and:
Craft Wondrous Item
https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title ... drous_Item

are those two feats implemented?
am I correct in that these feats do not require a skill or skill points to use?

is it possible for a player wandering through the game by themselves solo in the late hours of the night to obtain the materials to enchant items?

while I realize creating an "epic" item would be unreasonable, is it possible for a player to at least create a good enough item for themselves?

does enchanting items with these feats cost XP? ( from my perspective XP cost is desirable, and would add considerable value to the feats )

---------------------------------------------------------

Both:
Craft Wand
https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title=Craft_Wand

and:
Brew Potion
https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title=Brew_Potion

Appear to be very flushed out in the documentation, thank you.

Do either of these feats require a skill or skill points to function?

is it possible for a player wandering through the game by themselves solo in the late hours of the night to obtain Magical Potion Bottles and bone wands to use these feats?

Thank you to whomever answers any of these questions :] ,

Craft Magical Arms and Armor and Craft Wondrous Items have no mechanical implementation on our server. While they can be selected, and are pre-requisites for some PRCs, they do not have any effect in and of themselves.

For Craft Wand and Brew Potion, Magical Potion Bottles and Bone Wands can be purchased from stores.

Craft: Alchemy unlocks some mundane recipes at alchemical workbenches throughout the server, combining various herbs into other things. Some of these recipes also require you to have Brew Potion, and occasionally there'll be a recipe requiring you to prepare a specific spell before you can craft it. (The spell is, of course, consumed when you do it.)

Besides this, there is no interaction between the crafting feats and any skills in the game. (Except that you are able to craft magical consumables by using UMD to cast a cross-class spell. - a common example is wizards UMDing cleric spells onto wands.)

Be advised that while crafting magical consumables does have an XP cost (the magnitude of which is identical to their PnP incarnations), these XP costs can never delevel you. Crafting will simply fail if you don't have enough XP to retain your current level, just as if you didn't have enough gold to make that item. In addition to this, one other thing not reflected on the wiki is that scrolls, potions, and elixirs can be crafted at various caster levels, determined by the crafter at the time of creation. With the exception of elixirs, this is always capped to a maximum of CL15, unless the spell has a minimum CL higher than that (i.e. level 9 scrolls are always crafted at CL17). The Scarification and Inscribe Rune feats take the crafter's CL instead, allowing them to ignore the cap but also forcing you to pay greater costs in cases where you didn't need the full CL.
