Physical description:
Dayne's presence is both understated and imposing. He wears flowing white robes marked with symbols of the moon with a crescent moon emblem on his chest. His attire looks more for ceremony over function, though he is still able to move with silence and grace.
His face is generally concealed beneath a hood and veil, only revealing his piercing, wide grey-blue eyes. They burn with an intensity that borders on wild, yet hold an eerie calm. They search relentlessly, like a man who is always looking for something unseen. He has the habit of looking directly at someone right before they speak.
Through the robes, it is easy to see a body honed by discipline. Lean, but hardened, he moves with speed and precision. His hands are usually wrapped in cloth, which give way to calluses. They speak to a man who fights without weapons.
Psychological description:
Dayne does not waste words. His tone is generally deliberate and precise, like each sentence should have weight. Though often calm, it has the feeling like he is constantly watching, measuring, and understanding. Or a none of the above, depending on who you ask.
Those who travel with him learn he is not humorless, though he is incredibly dry, subtle, and often laced with a touch of absurdity.
Religious views:
Dayne's devotion to Selune is absolute. He preaches when he can, though does not demand others follow his path. He believes Selune has a role in fate, but more so that She reveals it and guides those willing to see. Even the nonbeliever has a purpose on the paths She has set out for every traveler. The Moon pulls tides as much as it illuminates.
He shuns all forms of weaponry from touching his hands, and never wears armor. He claims it is part of the path Selune set before him.
In the past, he did not stay in one place for long. Constantly on the move, the trend continues after he finds himself in Baldur's Gate. He started his pilgrimage in Amn, though does not often talk about what started him on the path. Those who pay attention can gleam his faith was not inherited, it was found. Earned. Perhaps even bled for. There are occasional whispers he was once a man of violence, someone who walked a different path before Selune's light found him. He generally does not confirm or deny these rumors.
He speaks and believes in redemption to an almost radical degree. He believes the MoonMother's love extends to all her children under her moon, no matter their decisions.
Biography
Family
Dayne's family is scattered to the winds. Bore to a pair to mercenaries, he picked up their skills at a young age. When he was old enough, he joined as a guard under sponsor of a minor merchant family
History
Dayne joined as an enforcer in Athkatla, sponsored by a merchant family of minor importance. At some point, he left Athkalta behind, drawn by guidance of Selune. He would come to cross paths with a few traveling brothers of the Order of the Sun Soul. While traveling, he trained and absorbed their teachings on discipline, movement, and purpose before setting out on his path alone. He moved as a wanderer and a seeker, searching for something more than he had once been. His path led him north, until he arrived at Baldur's Gate. He does not yet know what awaits him here.
Future
Dayne's path is far from set or over. The road ahead is filled with choices, though what will influence these decisions is not certain. He may opt to face his former life, which has not forgotten him. Old associates may seek him out, or a former merchant family looking to clean up lose ends may come hunting. Dayne may choose to dedicate himself to the shadows of battles to come, fighting back against whatever threatens innocent travelers on their own paths. More likely, however, is Dayne focusing on his purpose for Pilgrimage. He wandered alone for years, carrying Selune's teachings his own way. But man cannot walk forever without wondering if the road should lead him somewhere. Will he remain a solitary wanderer, or build something greater than himself?
