Physical description:
Yth'Throqueon is a sun elf with gold eyes, tan skin and black hair. Though he has the beauty and grace so common among elves, he doesn't make any effort to enhance his appearance. Indeed, perhaps he would rather not stand out in a group of elves by visage alone. He generally wears elegant, but practical and simple clothes, and openly carries the trappings and accessories of a wizard.

Psychological description:
A highly traditionalist sun elf, Yth'Throqueon is patient and cautious, and keeps his emotions to himself - especially around non-elves. He is prejudiced of humans in particular, including planetouched humans - though perhaps especially tieflings. And for all the obvious reasons half-orcs. Even so, having only been in Faerûn for a few months, practically every encounter or interaction with - or description of an individual - human (planetouched or otherwise) so far has only served to confirm his prejudice: Humans are careless and reckless, and incapable of learning from their mistakes.

He will be fierce in any conflict with evil, though his priorities will always be the safeguarding of elven secrets and the protection of his People.

Religious views:
In general, Yth'Throqueon views the gods as a standard sun elf. He considers Angharradh to be a moon elven myth.
Diety Attitude Thoughts
Labelas Enoreth Patron As a god of history and time, Labelas Enoreth's teachings speaks most clearly to Yth'Throqueon of all the Seldarine. He views his association with the Olin Gisiae as a service to Labelas, finding many similarities with his own duties to those of Labelas' priests. He is particularly proud that his daughter, Arianna, is a novice (Tyros) priestess of Labelas.
Corellon Larethian Reverence Though Labelas is Yth'Throqueon's patron, he recognises that there are none above Corellon within the Seldarine.
Rillifane Rallathil Reverence As the god who his druid wife serves, Rillifane Rallathil holds a special place in Yth'Throqueon's heart. All elves share a deep respect for nature, and Rillifane is the embodiment of the harmony between elven civilisation and wilderness.
The Seldarine Reverence The rest of the Seldarine, and all of them as a whole, Yth'Throqueon has deep devotion for and conviction in. He believes each of the Seldarine represents important aspects of elven life, pyschology and culture, and that one should pay attention to all of them for guidance in different situations.

He sees Khalreshaar (the Evermeetan name for Mielikki) to be a servant of Rillifane Rallathil rather than Silvanus - a human druid who the Seldarine bestowed divinity on after she died defending elven woods from a human warlord. The divine sha'quessir, in Yth'Throqueon's mind. However, having learned of local Mielikkians on the Sword Coast all too willing to compromise with (or even work with) evil, a thought has risen in his mind that they may be separate entities.
Mystra Reverence The only deity outside of the Seldarine that is shown actual reverence is Mystra. She is the Weave, and for a wizard, it is important to treat her well. The Gift of Magic, is something an elf like Yth'Throqueon simply has to show true appreciation for, especially with his daughter Nuonna is born with sorcerous magic. This fondness for Mystra is nevertheless relatively recent, as Midnight appears so far to be more morally in line with Corellon than the old Mystra did.

Even so, he recognises that even the old Mystra has long shown respect and appreciation for the elves' proficiency with the Art.
Deneir Respect As a true scholar deity, and one who is not as morally bankrupt as Oghma (in Yth'Throqueon's view), Deneir earns the respect of this sun elf. But this is as one of the few human gods who receive such respect.
Moradin Respect Though he has practically no experience with dwarves, Yth'Throqueon has read a fair bit about their gods and culture. He deeply respects Moradin for his protection of his own people. In many ways, Moradin is similar to Corellon, even if they have some philosophical differences.
Oghma Neutral Though Oghma is the god of knowledge, Yth'Throqueon has relatively little appreciation for him. He believes Deneir would make a better lord of knowledge, because knowledge is power, and it must always be used and disseminated with responsibility and moral integrity. Oghma lacks this.
Eilistraee Neutral (suspicious) As a scholar, Yth'Throqueon is of course familiar with both the existence and history of Eilistraee. He is however suspicious of any drow who would claim her as patron, though he is also unlikely to let any drow live long enough to make the claim.
Lolth Hate Of all the gods in existence, Lolth is the one who receives the greatest hate from Yth'Throqueon. The remainder of the Dark Seldarine receive similar hatred, but Lolth is the most powerful, and the greatest traitor of all.
Gruumsh Hate As the other chief enemy of the Seldarine, Gruumsh stirs similar hatred in Yth'Throqueon as does Lolth. However, orcs appear as less powerful and hold no true realm of their own. Their suspicion of arcane magic also limits their threat. They still are a threat, for certain, but one that is managable.
The Furies Hate The four gods of fury - Talos, Umberlee, Auril and Malar - are seen as a great threat to elves. Each of them have been directly involved in attacks upon the elven people, and their followers are actively threatening Evermeet and other elven settlements. Umberlee in particular has many followers who attack elven ships on their way to Evermeet. And Malar still commands Ityak-Ortheel, the Elf-Eater.

History

Having been born and grown up on Evermeet, Yth'Throqueon lived a fairly peaceful and ordinary life for a sun elf. As a member of a relatively insular house, he had fairly little social life outside of his own clan in his early years. However as he began studying magic and history at the Towers of the Sun and Moon, his social life expanded, especially with his growing interest and hunger for knowledge. He could end up in long discussions with his teachers and fellow students, and spend hours and hours in the library, often together with like-minded friends, looking for obscure references and ancient history.

His status with the Towers of the Sun and Moon over the decades turned seamlessly from student to teacher, and he remains associated with the towers to this day. But in his 130s, he was invited by his relative Elasha Evanara to work and study in the royal library in Leuthilspar. Such an opportunity could not be rejected by the young scholar, and he moved to the elven capital and began his work there.

It was here in Leuthilspar, the winter of 1229 DR, he met a young novice priestess - a druid - of Rillifane Rallathil: Zara'Nyvanna of House Korianthil. He had spent time reading about the Sacred Oak by Rillifane's Grove in Leuthilspar, and though he had already visited the ancient tree many times since he moved to the captial, he now wished to truly look upon and take in the tree he now had learned was likely the oldest tree on all of Evermeet, whose seed was said to have come from Arvandor itself. This knowledge made the young scholar look upon the oak with a deeper perspective and awe.

But where he stood, gazing upon the Sacred Oak, he was noticed by Zara'Nyvanna. And discerning as she was, she could see exactly what was going on in the wizard's eyes. And so she approached and presented herself. They began talking, and soon Yth'Throqueon learned that what he had only read about recently, was an obvious observation to any proper druid of Rillifane, and Zara'Nyvanna could tell him many things about the Sacred Oak that the pages of the tomes he had read never mentioned. However, likewise, the intuitions and blessings bestowed upon druids about the ancient tree did not reveal all the facts the books kept. And so the two learned much from one another about the Sacred Oak and deepened in their appreciation of it.

Their sharing of knowledge and intuition soon grew into a shared devotion for nature and the Seldarine, and a blooming romance. Indeed, like so many other young lovers, they made secret vows to one another before only the Sacred Oak and the Seldarine, that meant so much to them, even before their marriage. And married they were, in the spring of 1244 DR. They settled in a small villa within the vast, grassy compound of House Evanara in Leuthilspar and continued their respective work in the capital. Soon enough, they also had children, and the joys of life reached their peak.

As he grew older and more experienced, Yth'Throqueon's work both in the royal library and the Towers of the Sun and Moon earned him a reputation as a loremaster and archmage. This reputation lead to the attention of the Olin Gisiae - the secret keepers. His skill at investigation and research was something they valued greatly and so he was eventually recruited by one of the elder High Mages living near the Towers of the Sun and Moon. Induction into this order meant he would have access to even deeper mysteries and knowledge, all over the world where elves dwelled. But also duties to collect and protect ancient elven secrets.

Now that their daughters are grown enough to manage on their own - or at least relying on each other and their relatives of House Evanara - Yth'Throqueon and Zara'Nyvanna are more free to pursue matters in the wider world. And so when Zara'Nyvanna was invited to Evereska as a mentor to young druids of Rillifane, Yth'Throqueon saw an opportunity for them both to move to Faerûn, as he himself desired to explore Glimmerwood (Woods of Sharp Teeth to non-elves) and unearth ancient elven secrets from the fallen realm of Askavar, that once spanned Glimmerwood. And thus the decision was made.

Future
  • He hopes to in the future qualify for the study of High Magic, this can only begin when he is at least 450 years old, by the rules of the High Mages.
  • He is prepared to sacrifice his life and become a baelnorn, should such be requested of him. Once again, however, this happens only to old and powerful elven arcanists.
  • Though the two above are distant potentials for Yth'Throqueon, his overarching ambition will always be to serve the Seldarine and the elven people.
Plot hooks
  • Ancient elven secrets.
  • Protection of elves.
  • Matters of chronomancy.
    • As a faithful of Labelas Enoreth, he is prepared to defend the continuum against any threat.
    • While he is a generalist, he has focused especially on the school of transmutation, in large part due to its association with chronomancy.
