Survival Skill Question

Can anyone definitively confirm that ranks in the Survival skill provide bonuses to character overland movement speed? All known details would be appreciated.

I have never read anything that says a high survival check gives sort of bonus speed.

It does help with tracking, and foraging for food, and hunting and the like (although only tracking has any in game application.)

There is no overland map here, so no, survival will not make you move faster.

There are also plants around the server that you can harvest for... something I would guess. I don't have any toons with survival as a skill so someone else would have to comment on what you get from them.

Some of those plants require craft alchemy or spellcraft, and not just survival.

you only get xp for harvesting them. though i was told you are ment to get something. survival can be useful for grinding and if you are able to fight a limited number of mobs, to make sure you dont rush in to some and aggro others. I used it in conjunction with stealth in earlyer levels, to move around groups and such, so i thought fewer mobs at a time

You are meant to get things for them those things simply haven't been imported.
