DM Rhicora's Events

Unread post by Rhicora »

Shamelessly ripped from Zkenic's worthy ruleset:

1)When you are in my event, stick to IC as much as possible. This one isnt too hard to figure out. Got a question feel free to ask it. Something confusing, shoot me a message. A lot of OOC can damage immersion and put a pause on the game.

2) Thou shalt not rest until you have reached a safe haven (As deligated by me). Rest in DnD helps balance out wizards and clerics to fighters. Add in that a party shouldnt be resting half way through an epic chase or battle anyway, and I will frown greatly upon resting without permission. First time will get a finger waggle, do it more and I might have to move you away from the action.

3) Be kind to your fellow players and the DM. We are playing this game to have fun. Sometimes you get a player that doesnt speak english well, sometimes you get one that was afk for a moment and asks a stupid question. Dont insult them or mock them. Come now, this one is easy!

4) Dont go a rollin' skills until I ask for em. Rolling skills on the DMFI tool is like a horrible plague, as soon as one person rolls everyone else sees the texts and follows suit. If there is a chance to spellcraft the gem, I will ask it. Of course if you think you should be able to roll appraise etc on something feel free to message me. I do make mistakes, and perhaps you should be able to roll when I don't think of it, just don't go jumping right into the DMFI tool.

"Mundane Light Hammer." August 6th, 2010. Heavy combat.
Location: Friendly Arm Inn and DM Hill.
Participants: Many!

Travelers learned of a band of goblins making another attack on Bently Mirrorshade's construction site. It is revealed that the goblin clan believed the dwarf foreman's hammer to be a magical artifact. Though it was entirely normal, it had been the subject of repeated raids on the inn - the goblins thought it would bestow upon them gold, meat, and tents, just as it had done for the dwarven construction crew.

The heroes were later sent by the gentleman adventurer to take care of the goblin problem. Little did they know, the sounds of battle would attract a band of surface raiders from the underdark in search of the wounded. They set up barricades in the valley where the goblins' camp was located and defended it successfully from waves of duergar and drow.

[All received 3000 experience except Grunga Ironfaar (3000 gold).]
[Small alignment changes were made based on reactions to the perceived goblin threat.]

"Perfectly Legal, Honey." August 8th, 2010. Light combat.
Location: Candlekeep, The Trade Way, Baldur's Gate.
Participants: Ross, Zacham, Lucavern d'Karnak, Grah'Thok, and Brent

While preparing his wagon for a trip to the Gate, the merchant Elir Tinuron realized that he might be more successful in his delivery taxes if he hired a band of mercenaries to defend the cart from brigands. Little did our adventurers know, they were transporting Amnian honey - a heavily taxed cargo which Elir hoped to avoid having to show to the authorities.

At first, the five mercenaries fought off several cutthroats and bandits determined to damage the armored wagon enough to steal its cargo. Ross's talent for repairs saved the wagon from destruction, but they were sighted by a paladin and her companion.

When the caravan master demanded that they find an alternate way into Baldur's Gate, the sellswords obliged - though at that point, it was perfectly clear that Elir was not as honest as he seemed to be. Through the bandit caves, they found a dock and ferried the barrels of honey across the river - then conned their way through the front gates disguised as farmers.

Later, Zacham would turn the barrels over to the Flaming Fist.

[All received 1000 gold as payment except Zacham.]
[Those who turned in the cargo to the Fist at the end became more lawful.]

Unimportant Side Note: I think that was Ross who had the crafting skills that saved the wagon, not me. I was just there to talk our way through everything.

Rhic, you're a sly, evil, manipulative SOB, and I hate you with every fiber of my being.

'Course, that means you're one of the best DM's I've had, PnP or online.

You may be VERY close to being responsible for a sudden and dramatic shift in Grah's alignment...
