I imagine this is much work to do, and since druids do retain minds when shape changing, it is mostly cosmetic (a druid in black, blue or red dragon shape does not become evil).
Only thing i can think of is that Gem dragons, being neutral, and Metallic dragons being good it would work for different tasks (the evil dragon shapes = inspire fear, neutral dragon shapes = perhaps the least intimidating ones, and good dragons = which inspire fear in evil).

Re: Dragon Shape, Will there be Gem/Metallic shapes availabl
Hey there! Currently there are no specific plans on adding gem/metallic shapes, if i am wrong the sky shall open and Luna may smite or at least correct me.
Maybe this will be picked up as idea for future additions to the PW.

Sometimes I question my sanity. Occaisionally it replies.

There are no models for these dragons unfortunately so we are stuck with what we have.

There's an appearance for a brass dragon, isn't there? Used as one of the dragon companions.

There are currently 4 dragon models: red, blue, black, bronze.
They have different stats with the evil side having stronger forms.
You either limit all good/non-evils to a weaker form or you follow pnp and the color/alignment doesn't matter when a druid/caster takes any form they want.

I see. I think i knew from the start that the work to make it happen wouldn't be worth it (and since it obviously isn't a problem that any druid turns into a chromatic dragon, given they notify their companions first). I was simply too curious about it to let go of the question. Thank you all for the fast responses.

I'd be inclined to copy the Blue stats over to a Bronze, so it gives people at least a limited option for non-evil appearances.
Regardless of the shape you take as a druid, though, you're not actually becoming evil or anything like that, nor are dragons a cosmic force for evil like an outsider is - even better, you can talk, so you're quite capable of at least trying to explain that you're not a tiny tiny red dragon.

I've got the stats correct to pnp and they will be available soon. The bronze option isn't bad but it doesn't quite compare to red (it does match the blue now as it should). There's a difference of about +4 Str, +4 Con, +1 Natural AC, +1 SR, and d2 difference in their breath weapon (will affect the companions only).
The food chain, such as it is, in PnP is this:
Gold
Red
Silver
Bronze/Blue
Copper/Green
Brass/Black
White
The gem/non-standard dragons tend to be better in one area and weaker in another. The Fang dragon, for example, has MUCH stronger melee abilities at the expense of a breath weapon.
The biggest failures of dragon shape right now are that the druids don't get the DR they should and the stats are lower than they should be. Coupled with which spells do/don't work the non-epic shapes have always been better. Once I'm done I'll end up putting together a chart that compares the shapes (similar to the nwn2wiki) so it's clear what is what.

I don't care much for stats. The very idea of shape changing into a dragon is enough awesomeness for me.
Thank you.
