Wands and Invisibility

Ok, I'm a little confused about something, and I'd like to get a clarification, if I could.

According to this, the invisibily spell works until you attack or cast a spell.
In the Player's Handbook, the description of the spell states that "The spell ends if the subject attacks any creature. For purposes of this spell, an attack includes any spell targeting a foe or whose area or effect targets a foe."

I used a wand while invisible, which does cast a spell, but i'm not actually doing any casting. I immediately became visible. If the item being used is not for an attack, and is in no way offensive, then I personally think that it should not turn you visible.

So the question is ... Is the game mechanic set up properly to turn someone using ANY wand visible, or should it NOT turn someone visible if the wand is not an offensive spell?

It's possible it's a game issue.
Some spells are set to remove invisibility when cast.

The game doesn't know if the spell came from a player or a wand, so it treats them the same.

The only thing different about casting from a wand is the spell caster level.

Is it possible to consider a fix for this, if the coders/devs don't think it is too difficult to suss out?

Could you maybe specify which wand you were using? That might help to actually find the problem and a solution.

I can not recall ever having a DM in a PnP game tell me invisibility was broken by knock. It is a transmutation spell that, by definition, can not affect anyone other than an inanimate object. It just changes the lock from closed to open.

Is Bull's Strength an attack? Barkskin? Tenser's Transformation? Most transmutation spells are not offensive. They are support spells. Note I said most, because some, like Stone to Flesh, is definitely offensive.

I don't mind if this doesn't get changed. I can easily work around it. But I would like to know it was discussed from all options, before it is left as is.
