Beatrix sat in the orphanage, she had found a lead but there was a catch.... isn't there always? Gazing at the children running around and being children, she felt she was so close.... but the task seemed... impossible. She was worried... and scared wanting to do what she must, but a voice screamed at her not to.

Re: Beatrix the Bloody
As she leaves the confines of Sanctuary a familiar sound whizzes past her an object no.. a projectile of foreign make strikes it's target, a wooden support of the structure she was next too. The object has four sharp points and crackles with electricty that slowly grounds into the wood. When she pulls the object from it's resting place a small surge of static electricity shocks her finger tips.
A familiar weapon from an old colleague turn rival...... Beatrix knows she will have to find the "dove" to find her daughter.

Sitting in the orphanage she considers everything she's learned... and everything she knows. Her fingers touch the cloth she had wrapped around the thrown object in thought, trying to think past the worry and fear. She needed guidance and knew the path she must take to save the Shiera Beatrix loved completely. Beatrix only wished that she could be sure Shiera stayed alive long enough for Beatrix to get to her.

Re: Beatrix the Bloody

Beatrix had followed the code on the throwing star to Naskel... finding that the duel that was requested was a true assassins Duel.... namely who ever had the most better trained shadows won. A battle commenced between the two groups as Ido "the Jade Sparrow" slipped away and Beatrix followed her. "The Jade Sparrow" assassin sister to Beatrix... they even worked together for a time and Beatrix knew her..... The Hawk and the Sparrow.... The Hawk had been Beatrix's Name....
Beatrix Followed Ido up to the Cloud Peaks Mountain pass and confronted her there as the battle between the assassins and Hero's continued.
"well Hawk... Here we are." Ido said... spreading her arms wide to indicate the area around.
"here we are indeed...." Beatrix kept the emotionless face she always had, knowing how this would likely turn out.
"perfect place for our reunion isn't it?" Ido said... gazing around at the snow covered mountain peaks and road surrounding them.
"it suits us i think....." Beatrix nodded staying focused on Ido.
"I always loved the winter... the snow.... so white... so pure...Very different than the stains we carry on our souls..." Ido Locked eyes with Beatrix.... sharing the thought and moment that only assassins can feel, there is no description for it that does it credit.
"Our Souls would be more akin to Soot than this Beauty." Beatrix scowled.... knowing this was the case for her own soul no matter how much she washed it... there would always be the black smudges.
"Then why do you run?..... Why did you leave? It doesn't make sense." Ido pleaded with Beatrix... clearly not understanding the Elfs life.
"I was stabbed in the back.... you will be too...." The only response Beatrix could muster.
"Pfft..... so you failed. Crow would of still kept you leashed. you were his favorite. What can these Choir Boys get you? Or that Preachy Bitch Ilmatari.?" Ido scoffed.
"Nothing...... they do nothing for me... save listen." Beatrix knew that this was true.... no one was doing anything for Beatrix the Bloody... it was all for the benefit of Shiera. Beatrix didn't mind this... All the people did for Beatrix was listen to her... and advise her on how to deal with things, she needed to stop looking to other people to help her find redemption. She would never find it in jail, which is where the paladins would put her, she would sit there doing nothing but contemplating things she had already come to grips with. no.... the only person that was truly making the changes in Beatrix was Beatrix.
"Then I'll make you a deal... you come back... take down the Dove and I let you live. We go back to the good old days." Ido was pleading, not wanting to kill the sister assassin who had shared so many missions with her.
"Let me make a separate deal... you tell me what i want to know... I take down the Dove... and possibly even crow... I let you live." Beatrix hoped Ido would take the deal, Beatrix had no desire to kill this pawn, but the pawn stood between Beatrix and her daughter.... as well as being a threat.
"Pfft! who are you kidding? you still want your kid?" Ido seemed in disbelief.
"I do" Those two words came from the core of Beatix... a threat to any who stood in her way.
"Forget about it Beatrix.... Crow won't let you get near her... not untill he's done training her."
"..... Crow will have to get used to dissapointment then.... i'll find her... whether you help me or not." Beatrix stood strong against the doubt, remembering Siomirs words to her.... She WOULD find Shiera.
"then i guess we're at a stalemate. Only one way to end this..." Ido smiles slightly knowing whats to come.
"Sadly it would seem so.... if i could... i would have you quit the assassin game and find a better way of life... help people.... but i think you are right. There is only one solution." Beatrix drew her bow.
The Battle was fierce.... arrows and stars flying between the two. Ido put up a wall of wind that deflected some of Beatrix's arrows. Beatrix had many throwing stars imbed themselves in her skin.
"Just like old times!" Ido Shouted at Beatrix during the battle.
"just like...." Beatrix only had the one response.... focusing on the battle she was already losing.
The battle continued Beatrix and Ido nearly evenly matched. Ido's defense was superior however with her ability to use the wind to deflect Beatrix's arrows, Both were badly wounded neither would be able to fight for much longer when the battle ended. Beatrix was struck in the chest with one of the electrical stars, embedding itself close to her heart as she dropped. The victorious Ido running over laughing through the blood and multiple arrows through her body.
"hehe..." Ido started choking on blood "I knew it! I knew i could beat her" She fell to her knees next to the fallen Beatrix after walking over.
Beatrix's eyes spring open and the badly beaten elven woman pulls her bow one last time. "Don't be... so confident... the jobs done... Ido!"
With that Beatrix releases the arrow right through Ido's throat, the blood spraying once again all over Beatrix and the surrounding snow. Beatrix once again finding herself covered in that which earned her the name Beatrix the bloody, now the blood of her sister assassin flowing all over her body.
Beatrix stagged to her knees...Ido with the look of disbelief on her face falls to the floor gurgling out her final words. "Bea....." the woman gurgles out. "I...." the woman tries to speak to her killer"
"Rest in peace Sister.... your troubled life comes to an end.... your life with the gods starts soon." Beatrix tells her fellow assassin, leaning forward and covering the hole through the woman's throat allowing her to talk.
Ido softens and seems to whimper as the reality of the end of her life nears "I... know.... ww...where.... *chokes* s... she is..."
Beatrix pauses... "where is she?"
"Dove..... i...innnn.... Amn.... athk.... *her breathing shallows she looks to B with a smile, the same smile she had when Beatrix and Her were once sisters......then the woman's breathing stops*
Beatrix reaches over and closes Ido's eyes.... whispering softly "As you leave this troubled life behind... i hope you find your way to your god's side." The elven woman then crawls over to a nearby rock.... whistling for her companion.... a giant Black cat which she asks to dig a hole for the body. while the cat does so, Beatrix goes about the task of pulling the throwing stars from her body, and healing herself.... passing in and out of consciousness. Her wounds would heal.... and she had a destination now. A place that would see her taking steps back towards what she once was... but to save her daughter... steps that would have to be taken.

After spending some time recuperating from her battle Beatrix heads south... into Amn to follow the trail. She does not let herself worry that she will not succed... for in her mind there can be no failure, its not an option she will consider.

The Hawk was watching... trying to find more information of her targets. She'd been doing this quietly and inconspicuously for weeks now trying to learn anything about her sisters or previous master... sadly as of yet she's found no knowledge of them nor the missing child. Today was a strange day she kept bumping into people who she knew before hand... but right now they were just non-targets to her.... not important unless they had information.
"Beatrix?" The voice was one she knew well but had not heard in a while, it startled her and she looked towards the Aasimar who spoke.
"I'm Hawk...."

After a great many days of searching for answers The Hawk felt frustrated... unable to find a scrap of information to help her hunt her prey.... Her wounds under the garbs she wore were still bothering her.... her cloak while magical and able to heal her slowly was not completely effective and she knew she was no healer. She was no closer to discovering where The Dove dwelt nor where The Crow held Beatrix's daughter... It was time for Beatrix to show herself again somewhere. The Hawk also hoped that others concerned for the child's welfare would have some sort of information so The Hawk went north to the Gate... using the cover of darkness and a boat to sneak into the outlying farms, Hawk sought out the closest friend Beatrix knew in hopes that something might have turned up. Part of The Hawk felt reluctant to see the person in question knowing that the conversation would be difficult.

Beatrix knew that it was likely Shiera would be a completely remorseless killer when she was finally found, Crow would use that against Beatrix thinking that destroying Shiera would destroy Beatrix as well... either making her easier to kill or easier to bring back to his side... but in talking to her friends, she discovered, Shiera was important... even if completely turned into a remorseless killer, a thought that haunted Beatrix to no end, as long as Beatrix still tried to save her and did not compromise the things she had been striving for for Shiera's sake..... there was always hope...

She hadn't been looking for it, or expecting it. In truth the whole situation disturbed her. The two of them were as opposite as day and night. He was a Favored of Helm, who's duty it was to protect people from evils and killers, She was a trained killer and while she no longer employed her talents for evil or profit still was guilty of so much death and destruction of life. How could he feel this way towards her? after all the lives that she ruined and loves she ended... did she deserve to feel this way towards him?
what of her daughter Shiera? How would her daughter feel if she learned that Beatrix fell in love with someone while Shiera was being held captive and enduring the training and torture that Crow inflicted? Would Shiera understand, or would she resent Beatrix? Plagued by these thoughts as well as many others and being inexperienced in the matters of love, Beatrix could only follow what felt right, and Renec made her feel confused but she found herself wanting to spend more time with him despite the worries and situation.

Another Envelope, With the White Feather of a Dove and a lock of Sheira's hair in it. An obvious taunt to lure her into a trap but the only way forward was to see where it led her. Beatrix was with Renec at the time a man whom she had quite accidentally become infatuated with. She hadn't been looking for infatuation, and had been more interested in finding her daughter, but none the less it simply fell in her lap and caught her completely unprepared.
The envelope had a fine white powder in it, which turned out to be powdered sugar of which there were only a couple places to get in the Gate, The Palace and a Warehouse on the docks. Beatrix hated to think that the Palace had the assassins holed up in it somewhere so the group headed towards the Docks.
------------------------------
The Explosion was small and easily contained, the fire not meant to destroy the building but rather kill anything inside. Luck would have it that Beatrix was not in the blast meant for her, though for a second fear gripped her heart that Shiera had been. Renec however had braved the burning building to look for people inside, found no one aside from the person who apparently had been meant to die with Beatrix.
The man had information... fearing for his life as well as his daughters and the Saints life he was hard to calm down enough to relay the the information to them but he managed to do so before the guards came.... now it was only a matter of time before she caught up with her daughter who had been spirited away on a commandeered ship called the Seasprite.
The destination is Roaringshore, now to find a ship and a crew.... though Beatrix had a good idea where to look.
------------------------------
Captain Revaes was outraged to find that his ship had been stolen and as Beatrix had guessed he knew a captain who owed him a favor so they were quickly on their way to catch up with his ship and repossess it. Beatrix knew that if they got the ship the likelyhood that this was the end of her sear was small.
The two ships bounced together and the group was on the Seasprite in a blink of an eye. Alone Beatrix would have stood no chance but with the help of Renec and Joan the pirates and assassins on bored were decimated... as was The Dove slain though not without sever injuries sustained to Renec, Captain Revaes and Joan. Beatrix took the time to collect the weapons from The Dove, just as she had from The Sparrow keeping them for a purpose she wasn't ready to share.
Everyone needed rest and the ships were heading towards Roaringshore, Shiera was there waiting and Beatrix knew she would end up confronting crow as well. She was scared that she and her friends would not succeed but knew that she had to press forward.

Re: Beatrix the Bloody

Beatrix wasn't feeling well.... and that had to be the biggest troll she had ever seen! It had taken Aerin down in one swipe of its axe and had its eyes on B now. Beatrix's arrows were like Bee stings to this monstrous beast. Beatrix had been hunting trolls for years now and some of the people who have seen her fighting trolls have commented how the trolls and her seem to have a vendetta against each other. The trolls always go for Beatrix and Beatrix is a very deadly force towards trolls.
"EAT HUMIE MEAT! HUMIE MEATS GOOD" This enormous troll had a desire for the flesh of humans and her traveling partner qualified... she had to distract it so Aerin could get back up on her feet so she let loose a slew of arrows raining them down upon the beast which seemed to do little other than annoy it, but thats all it took the troll went lurching after Beatrix who led it on a merry chase around the Troll claw hills.
Noticing Aerin stand up again Beatrix shouted towards the Helmite "RUN! This is a foe i fear i cannot handle!" And so the two of them ran, Fleeing this ever approaching monstrosity. Beatrix had hoped that the Troll would break off the persuit but it did not stop, It marched all the way down the mountains and through the Valley of the dead... and it would not stop.
"We can't lead this thing to the gate.... it would put innocents in danger!" the ever noble Aerin shouted to Beatrix. which is when Beatrix formulated a plan that would give the gate and her companions time to prepare or figure out something to slow this beast.
"RUN! Get help! I'll stay here and distract it... so that it doesn't go towards the gate...!" Beatrix the Bloody would never have done this, but this Beatrix wasn't that emotionless assassin any more. there were people she could protect by doing this and it was something only she could do. She had the advantage of a wide open space and her ability to hide stalled the Troll for a bit while it switched from sight to relying on sense of smell. It was sunset, perhaps even the last sunset, and Beatrix knew it would be a long night.
A dwarf Beatrix recognized came running up charging the troll. Beatrix shouted out many warnings and even tried to distract the troll but the dwarf fell to the trolls might. then the troll shouted something that gave B hope of survival. "BLECH DWAR MEAT...... WANT HUMIE MEAT!" The troll had stopped to look at the fallen dwarf and Beatrix stopped as well taking the time to try to speak with the monster and get it to leave.
"Well you won't find any human meat I'm an elf! so go back to your home in the mountains!" Beatrix nearly smiled, this would Solve everything..... or not.
"ELF?!" the Troll seemed confused.
"yep.... elf." Beatrix pointed to her pointed ears.
"ELF MEAT ME FAVORIATEE" The troll was drooling out of both mouths now and there was little Beatrix could say save for:
"........ drat...... time to run again...." And so the chase continued... Beatrix running around in cicrles blasting away at undead and this troll.... hours this lasted. her string fingers were bleeding from overuse of the bow, the troll had nearly five hundred or more arrows sticking into it and Beatrix was getting exhausted. Beatrix's illness was taking its toll.... it had been hours and there was no sign of help coming save Aerin returning. Help wasn't coming, the Fist officer at the gate wouldn't believe the story about this troll. It was up to those who had seen it to deal with it.
Beatrix noticed that the arrows she had shot into the troll, were small and ineffective on their own. each arrow had acid tips due to her abilities to control acid and put it into the tip of her arrows. and the arrows were piling up and starting to cause the monstrosity problems. One of the companions was still off gathering Adventurers while the three that remained stood fast trying to take down the beast.
Finally near daybreak the Troll fell dead, the body held countless arrows along with burn marks from acid and magic. Beatrix however was at her limit and fell exhausted. wounds were tended and the dwarf was saved. Beatrix needed aid returning to The Gate due to the effort of felling the troll, combined with the illness sapping at her strength. As they approached the gate they saw the group of adventurers that had gathered to defend the city despite the Fist officers insistence that such a troll could not exist and that those who claimed to saw it were simply drinking too much.
The Troll had fallen however, and been consumed by the undead of the Valley there was no proof of the foe that Beatrix had worked so hard to keep from reaching the Gate, nor was there a word of thanks from those who's duty it was to guard the Gate. They thought her hitting the drinks too much. Beatrix felt slightly discouraged about her efforts. Beatrix had expected such things to happen when she started trying to help people but the fact that it happened still rankled. There was little she could do save push on and do what she needed to do.
------------------------------
Beatrix wasn't feeling well.... and that had to be the biggest troll she had ever seen!

Beatrix didn't like the sword. She hated it. It scared her.
Really though a sword that could cause even the most noblehearted warrior turn into a man of death and destruction only was a fearsome thing, and the fact Renec held it scared her, especially considering her recent condition. What if he turned into a man like that? What would Beatrix do. Part of her thought she would defend him no matter what, but there was that new voice in her saying that if Renec started down the road of evil... she had to stop him one way or another. This cursed sword was a curse on not only the person who held the sword but indirectly on everyone close to that person. Renec said that he would look into destroying this sword Cursed by Malar, but for Beatrix that time wouldn't come soon enough.
Beatrix couldn't wait till it was destroyed, but the sword was not all she worried about. Her list of people who wanted her dead grew, instead of just Corymr and assassins, she now had to worry about Baneites and trolls. The Baneites and trolls were her fault however, helping to destroy the Temple of Bane is no way to keep you off their list, and the trolls it seemed had a personal hatred for the shadowy Elven archer that plagued them so often. She had often heard jokes from those who saw her fighting trolls that the trolls seem to particularly dislike her, always going for her when they can. the joke continued that the trolls likely tell their children horror stories of the "great Blackclad Archer" who would come and destroy them if they were bad. Beatrix at first didn't think this more than a joke, but thinking back about all the trolls that attacked her and the Mountain sized troll that chased her.... she had to wonder if it was just a joke....

Good news.... No more sword to haunt her. Bad news? Instead of Malar only having a passing dislike for her due to her relationship to Renec, She now had Malar fully angry at her for having Foiled one of the Hunts of his servants. Now in the Eyes of Malar, she was just as guilty as Renec and those who slayed Malar's Champion due to her actions.
The day had started well enough... well actualy thats not quite true.... in fact the day started with covering herself in Naga scat and crawling around a camp filled with an army of Naga who would kill her in an instant if she were detected. But aside from that and bumping into Renec and Aerin while still covered in, and smelling like, Naga excrement the day had actually been pretty decent.
Then she heard about a group heading deep into the cloakwood which made her curious, and when she caught up with them it made her worry. She'd planned enough ambushes in the past and knew enough about combat to know that these people were walking into a trap. if they were aware of it or not was uncertain but B couldn't simply let them continue without help.
Beatrix could tell they were werewolves it was obvious but she was curious what she could find out about these "old ones" the man kept mentioning. The three she followed were already caught in the trap so springing the trap early wouldn't have helped, all she could do was wait for the trap to be sprung.
A large pack of werewolves, followers of Malar, in the middle of a hunt. a "brotherhood" she supposed. She couldn't kill them all but slew many of them, though undoubtedly there were more who didn't come to this trap. The sheer number of werewolves worried her, and a great number came close to biting her and infecting her with their lycanthropy. The three caught in the trap fell but Beatrix managed to save them. Unfortunately this incurred the Wrath of Malar upon her as well, This hunt was in relation to the death of his Champion, and Beatrix went from possible target due to her relation with Renec, to a prime target for foiling one of Malars hunts and killing a number of his werewolves.

Its a bit disgruntling to learn that something you were trying to hide is so easily discovered by so many so fast... but trying to hide something you've little knowledge about is asking a bit much. What would an instrument of death know about the creation of life? The fun bits are obvious.... and B had been no stranger to the ways, but what came after the fun bits Beatrix had no idea about in truth, as in the past she had been consuming preventitive herbs.
More disturbing than her apparent lack of discretion about her pregnancy was the woman she met, who went above and beyond the normal. Its one thing to have it found out that she was pregnant, it was quite another to be looked at and told point blank what gender her child was by a teenager who had known her for less than an hour. There were many things about this child that knew the impossible that did not settle well... neither did the pickles and cookies however so thoughts on the child would have to wait.
