Server Timeline
Is it possible to get this updated? It still says that the current year is 1348. What significant server events have occurred since then? Even just a note that we are now in 1350 would probably be good.
Obviously not a high priority, but I'm curious what's happened. I've read about wars, and droughts, and dragons oh my!

2011 was 48..
2012 was 49
2013 is 50.
Aye.. it's a bit confusing our last bit of knowledge is from 2 years back.

Re: Server Timeline Update
I'm not much for FR/D&D lore, but I wanted to see what people thought about upping the date of the timeline? Would this increase RP possibilities with the additional world changing/cosmos events that occur in the near future to the current timeline? Or would it be too negatively impacting?
As an aside: Why are gods, that are currently not available according to the current timeline, actually available to pick in the Nexus, such as The Red Knight?

Thanks for the reminder. The staff was looking into updating the timeline not too long ago.

Re: Server Timeline Update
I can see how that might provide some interesting RP, but I think it would be more of a hastle than anything else. For the last several years the rule's been 1 RL year = 1 FR year. Personally I'd like to see it stay that way. In 1350 (current year) there are trade problems. In 1351 there's a plague in BG which could have some fun RP and megaplot elements. Moreso than missing that big event in the Gate's history, I think asking the entire server to reconcile what their characters have been doing for the last 7-8 years is an unnecessary hastle.sweetlikesplenda wrote:I'm not much for FR/D&D lore, but I wanted to see what people thought about upping the date of the timeline? Re: Server Timeline Update
We need to update it. It's on the to-do list, but it's a little bit of work and nobody's had the free time to amass all the server lore (no easy task). We'll get to talking about it on the DM forums to see if we can plumb our collective hive mind for "what all's happened in the last couple of years?"

Re: Server Timeline Update
It is now 1349 AFAIK in-game.
PC1 = Nerys, Emissary and Skald of the Greyfox tribe, last seen roaming north near Secomber
PC2 = Valqis Sanejmeh; far away cartographer, Oracle of Nut at chaltin QulDaq, former navigator of the Sea Seeker, Reader of Candlekeep and sometime performer.

Re: Server Timeline Update
We should just wave our magic wand and make it 1350.
Then we can make the IG clock correct.
It can't roll below 1350, so that is the minimum year we can display IG.
