Why does the question assume the Underdark needs CR content?

It needs low level content. The current content is discouraging.

My vote was for 1-5 and 20-25, although both are currently doable with great haste if you're a caster.

Same.

Somehow I managed to get a drow from 1 to 30 in a little less than two months, and I have trouble to get to 15 with my surfacers, but I agree that there's room for more 1-5 CR stuff down there.

There's already one epic area, but the problem is that there's just one. So you get everyone in there.

Epic areas definitely! At low lvl areas I've had never any problems and in mid levels the variety is huge.

i voted 1-5 just cos i really dont like the current ones... the varallas is boring and the severs are a pain to play (i guess difficulty level shouldnt be discussed but its treally not doable at all for some builds)

I voted for 5-15 as that were the levels where my monk was stuck, as I still was playing her. And it got old quick doing the same areas over and over again. And those weren't exactly many either.

At epic lvls I am still no expert but I think 20-25 is never wrong.

Not-mob area (city addition, fixes, temples) first, grinding later!

Totally agree with Prism's suggestion. Especially the misty lake or what it's name is, could use a merchant. Who would accept all items not like the illithid thrall.

Goblins then fire goblins. Quickest XP I got in the underdark was from 5-12.

Not possible with all builds; those goblins hit quite hard, are good casters for their CR and explosions are still a problem, especially if you have a summon.

We could really use a small svirfneblin settlement somewhere. Or an outpost with a merchant a bit away from Sshamath, like the misty lake.
And some underdark areas without spawns would be nice too. They dont have to be big, but it seems just crowded sometimes, and those tunnels are more uninhabited most of the time. At least that is how I see it.

I don't remember any 'caster' goblins, and didn't find them hard at all. As for their explosion, you move away. (Though I don't remember them exploding).

Only real hard thing out there is the boss. You should outrun him as a monk though.

As it stands, the UD has a lot of grinding areas, which sees use. But areas that promote role play is rather fewer than what one would wish. Also, Nyeleni's request about more 'empty' areas is sort of valid. The UD is supposed to be very empty, with sudden dangers. As it is, there are no real road to follow, where the monster activity is noticeable less than the areas around it. A Network of empty tunnels could be the answer for that (Not totally empty, but with less monster activity than what is now).

I'm not so sure about the Svirfneblin village, as it would draw the population, that is already very thin, out of Sshamath. . . a Svirfneblin ghetto on the other hand would be very appreciated. The Darkwood district could finally have some use, and not be empty, unless some one gets curious.
