Hello.
I play in UD and for a long time never have been in an event.
And I mean it, the last event I participated was almost 2 years ago.
Can't blame anyone because I stopped playing for a while (lol). But one of the causes was surely the lack of DMs in UD.
Also, I understand there are some DMs that prefer the surface, and there is no DM limit in the map for the area of event, but the staff could build a public topic about wich DMs make what and where.
I know it would limit the DM "powers" but I think all players should have DMs (even if there are no players at all in Underdark, at least 1 DM exclusive for there.)
Some says there is no DM because there is no player interested. But I could also say there is no player because there is no DM.
I'm not blaming anyone, but we could build areas of DM expertise =).

If you can't beat them, join them!
But seriously. I do think you should consider applying for DM, or any of your friends that might be interested. The Staff is (to the best of my knowledge) always interested in getting new enthusiastic members - and if you have ideas for how to handle or set a drive in the UD, then I'm sure your input would be welcome.
This way, you even get to take an active part in making the UD more attractive to new players

DMs aren't supposed to be exclusive to the surface or UD. There's been a host of events revolving around the UD recently, have you tried joining up with or working alongside with any of the active guilds down there?
Also, have you tried contacting the DMs and working with them recently to share your ideas and activities before calling the team out with a misleading topic title in tow? :)

Plus, nobody likes the UD, not even the Drow. That's why they keep coming up here.
Wirg to Pug: "Iz lat dun?"
Pugratix to a snarky militia man: "Mmmm. Not yet. I will live for hundreds of years and be heralded as one of the greatest forces of destruction on the face of the world. The only thing you can destroy is the outhouse."

Re: DMs Competence?
It would be a realy good idea though to compile the events in one public post.
Like, no real information. Just...
+1 event surface, around Candlekeep.
+1 event UD, around Sshamath.
+1 event surface, around cloudpeaks.
And at the end of the week, either a DM or even me, could compile them in the first post.
It would be a way to know how many events happened where and when. We would see where we lack events/DMs.
It would require all DMs to cooperate, though. It's not a lot of work.

Re: DMs Competence?
Your opinion is valid DM, but I dont ser how trying to order the staff is a mislead topic.
A exclusive DM in underdark would be very cool, we got alot of players there that could make part of an event when they are not in a guild or something alike.
Also, most of them are not in guilds, because recently guilds dont chance much either.
passiflora idea is really good also.

Re: DMs Competence?
There has been for some time a concentrated effort to bring onto the DM Staff they that has a specific and dedicated interest in the Underdark.
If you look at history, however, those individuals burn out the quickest. Do you ever wonder why that is?
Whether symptom or cause, the Underdark is and has been a challenge to manage since its inception.
I do however recommend that if you personally have ideas, needs or requests for your Role-play in the Underdark, send them along to the DM and Associate DM groups via Private Message, to see if you can convince a DM to take up the proposal.
