Re: A Call for Scouts
As the trickle of scouts begin to come in from the mountains, they would be met warmly by Celduil, who would offer them warm stew and a loaf of bread, before being instructed to pitch their tents nearby while they wait for the others to arrive.

*Nai arrives with the others* Hail ! *she smiles seeing all of them around then crosses her arms most likely copying Shynt's normal stance.*

The elven druidess seems to camp near the group, a large blank panther may be seen from time to time around her.

*After waiting for a week, 2 weeks? For people to show that apparently aren't coming, the Elven ranger sallies forth, gathering his supplies & allies and rallying forth toward the Warlock's Crypt, to see what they will see. A journey which will likely take a few days, likely, even at their swift pace*

*The adventurers come to Warlock's Crypt and see nothing suggesting there is any activity there, so after a few days of quiet watching Celduil suggests they abandon the venture, in favour of returning home*

Re: A Call for Scouts
* Watching his friend order the end of the mission, Gyvari can't fully disguise a hint of relief on his face, despite obviously sharing in Cel's apparent disappointment in their efforts. He helps break camp wordlessly, though, with an occasional glance into the distance towards the direction of the Crypt. Once they are all packed and ready to head south, Gyvari slides up to his familiar spot beside and slightly behind the Ranger and offers a few words of comfort.*
" 'Twas a worthy effort , my friend. I fear the only mistake you made the entire trip was to bring ME with my accursed luck. Come, let us make our way to the lands we know, and I will even buy you a Neverwinter Ale the moment our dusty boots enter the city. Besides, I never really liked wasting arrows on Undead. And....I really should see what is news within Doron Amar."
With a quick glance to Cel, he motions with his head to begin their long walk southwards.

Well into an hour after the rangers left warlocks crypt, their keen senses would begin to detect something just on the fringe of perception, on the outskirts of detection. It's identity and motives it kept to itself for the moment, silently stalking as it slid along leaving no tracks in it's wake.

Re: Player Names
BGTSCC is a collaborative continuous story telling campaign. No one gets a guarantee (bold) that their efforts will produce immediate effect, or even the sort of effect they are aiming for. Particularly if it involves other players.stevebarracuda wrote:It is sad and suppressive of motivation to see a 7+ Player initiative to get involved in a Server Wide Campaign be ignored by the DMs.
Then, to have a DM run a similar event to what was initiated here, but only including a small clique of usual suspect Players—a few also being DMs-as-Players—just continues a trend of only supporting RP of an in crowd.
There are many invested Players who just want to be included in the Big Stories of this Server, and have a chance to have their PCs have an effect on these Server Campaigns.
Please do not shut us out. We're putting just as much effort into the Server and Role-Play as your friends are.
Thank you.
The cited quote reads as: "If I don't get my way, the other players must be cheating". The arrow shoots straight for foul play ---> because you didn't get your way (notice the arrow).

An accusation is therefore hurled against the DM Team and fellow players without even knowing whether the other group involved had come upon a similar idea, if and when they did so, and how that might have been roleplayed. No consideration is given at all for other circumstances, among which that its possible no DM had actually noticed the roleplay referred to. No evidence of foul play is offered to do us the courtesy of giving this complaint some real substance (none).
The DM Team is a group of volunteers who are not on 24/7, and we aren't expected to be. Its great that you expect Omniscience, or near-omniscience, from a Dungeon Master but the reality is that we're not Gods. If you wish to get noticed on an issue immediately its best to send a private message to the team describing your efforts. Of course we prefer to witness it in-game, and with many things we do, but 100 / 100 is something even high level commercial companies fail to achieve.
I am not involved in this issue but I can tell you straight up that throwing these sorts of character assassination arrows won't fly unless you supply evidence to show foul play. If you can do so please communicate it to the entire DM Team and we'll look into matter thoroughly and seriously.
From this point on I will moderate this topic to remove any further replies detracting from the roleplay. This is not a discussion topic, its a roleplay topic. Make a new topic if need be, bearing in mind that particular allegations against a person should be handled privately. We do not do mob trials (similar to sham trials) in BGTSCC, except ofcourse during Valefort day... we use mob rules then, along with guillotines. I have put previous out-of-character replies in spoiler tags to keep the topic on track.
Keep up the roleplay,
DM Ioulaum.

Re: A Call for Scouts
Those on watch near the Troll Hills see the occasional dark rider or birds of bone flurrying about the area, headed at high speed north or south of the Troll Hills, either through the hills themselves or along their perimeter. Those watching could attempt to waylay one of the air or land-mount borne travelers.
((Would those who have been RPing this on the forums or in game be able to make an event at 3pm GMT on this Saturday, April 11? Note, this is only open to those characters that IC RPed traveling and being in the Troll Hills scouting around IC as in this thread.))
//I just saw this thread for the first time today and I wish I had noticed it sooner as it is related to events I have been running for the past few weeks spontaneously for player characters that are seen RPing in game in the northern wilds or that live in the northern wilds. In the future, as the DM team does not always see every thread in Elfsong Tavern or other RP forums, please shoot a PM to the DM team as a player request to make sure we are aware of what is going on with RP such as this. Additionally, posting IC RP in one of the RP campaign threads if it is campaign related and then PMing it as a highlight to the DM team is helpful in getting campaign RP noticed by the team as well.//

Re: A Call for Scouts
The group marched from the edge of the cliff overlooking the quiet of the Necropolis for hours and hours... though the hours moved slowly at first, dragging for what felt like an eternity. Whatever stalked them continually keeping up to them no matter what pace they set.
A deer exits the bush and regards the rangers curious, it's head rotating around 360 degrees to view them, the velocity of the turn increasing every second until in nearly a blink it was over... did it really happen? It was hot after all and water was sparse in the hills, unless you braved the warring troll kingdoms who safeguard what surface water is available.
The deer bolts out, quite rapidly moving faster than expected, faster than a haste spell, twirling and bounding around the ground moving out of time with the surroundings until it suddenly smashed into the ground by a boulder. The roars of legions of trolls break the silence as the descent on the group though, they soon come to realize they are without their regular clothes, bearing only rags and tiny sharpened sticks. Even if they try to run, their legs do not move as they are caught in the mire, sinking slowly into oblivion... the last thing heard is not the yell of trolls as they descend onto their waiting prey but a laughter in the back of their mind...
Then the scene changes, they are once again dressed in their regular attire only now they stand within the dreaded Necropolis. Menacing blackened spires reach up from the ground like skeleton limbs out of the soil, attempting to defile the now night sky. There is a long path before them, winding in broken cobblestone, lined with the ruins of ancient pillars. The path ascends a large hill which leads up to a large castle like structure with blackened doors covered in dried and stained blood. Deadly spikes penetrate out from around the structure and the doors themselves are mainly closed, with one barely wedged open. The laughter sounds again, only now it booms across the necropolis as lightning splits the sky.
Ahead, before the door, a ancient human lich appears dressed only in ancient bones and radiating in power. He looks to you his expression unchanging for what may seem like a moment or an eternity before there is a sudden flash and he appears beside you.
"You must leave fore the door is ajar, the dogs will escape... do not open it wider.... there will be great devastation if you do not prepare" the lich utters in a monotone voice, though hints of concern underlay his words. Another flash of light and the lich stands ahead of them, half way between the door and their location. "I have no time, turn back, prepare..." Laughter floods their minds and the scene.
Then the rangers awaken. A few days out from the Crypt where they had awaited others. It was all a dream... or rather a nightmare. Powerful and ancient magic still radiates in the area. Suddenly the sun is blocked by the passing of birds of bone moving rapidly on their way...
