The soup kitchen founded by the Everwatch continues to operate. Though the meals basic, meat a rare sight and even then only in morsels, for many it is better than being left hungry. Later this evening Sveta Asperan in her battle regalia with a light musk of battle about her, seeming to have just returned from a patrol enters the kitchen. There she pauses at one of the tables writing upon a paper before finally posting it near the entrance. It reads as follows.
Reward 200 gold
for information relating to the
whereabouts of the malicious
leaders of the Virtuous Soil,
Lady Katherine Vernosa and Chad.
Approach the Temple of Helm
She departs to Flaming Fist Headquarters to inquire of any further leads upon the pair who recently had bounties set upon them.
The protests in the market have given Jadoth a lot to think about...
The wandering cleric finds himself lurking on the fringes of where the leader of the Virtuous Soil protest had said they'd camp. A small part of him sympathizes with their plight and nudges him towards offering them his aid; another small part of him knows that getting involved would only lead to trouble.
What has truly tickled his interest is the rumor of that "Vernosa" woman, the one who supposedly resorts to torture and killing. He considers her actions worse than sedition and more despicable than neglecting the poor. Protesters do no harm, unlike a torturer.
Jadoth approaches the Virtuous Soil camp in search of answers.

Boddynock spends some time speaking to the mass of peasants and collecting their complaints before beginning to draft the petition he said he would write. After a while he settles in to start writing with an elegant practiced hand:
To the esteemed rulers of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding lands:
A terrible tragedy plagues your citizens, and they have called upon me to bring it to your attention, as they are apparently all illiterate farmers. This injustice is grave indeed my lords, and can NOT be tolerated, as I know it will not be by magnanimous rulers such as yourselves. I speak of course, about the overwhelming and completely total lack of any appropriately sized furniture for gnomes, halflings, and even, I dare say, dwarves, in any establishment within your lands. As equally contributing citizens of Baldur's Gate and the surrounding lands we feel that this injustice must end. We ask, that in your wisdom, you decree that all establishments must provide such furniture for their more diminutive guests. Indeed, perhaps you could see fit to make public funds available for such a noble task, the quality of life of your people depend upon it! Can you image the lack of dignity we face when we are forced to climb into our seating arrangements? Can you imagine, for a moment, if you had to climb into your duchal thrones, from which your feet would dangle without touching the floor? Obviously this is an utmost travesty that calls for immediate action by your most benevolent lieges.
Signed by the people:
(Boddynock has all of the illiterate farmers he can find "make their mark" on the petition without bothering to ask anyone he thinks can read...)

(scribbled at the bottom of the page in haste is the following)
Oh, one more thing there was also some mention of some group calling themselves the Pacifist Dirt, who insisted they are not affiliated with some Lady Veebosa and some guy named Thad, and they are hungry or something. Also there was one blonde lady who was very adamant that she didn't want to pay taxes anymore, although on further questioning it appears that she never has.
Boddynock proceeds to have this message delivered post haste with absolutely no proof-reading whatsoever, which is easily accomplished when you can turn invisible and run away.

Rumor spreads throughout the Baldur's Gate farmlands that a Chauntean peasant named Hilda Green lead a protest under Chauntean religious banners and temporary erection of a statue of Chauntea in the market area of the Eastern Farmlands demanding peace, food, and freedom as well as "no violence, no hunger, and no tyranny" and to "ignore the Dukes that ignore the people", with some gossipers believing that her "Peaceful Soil" movement was with the allegedly violent and rebellious Virtuous Soil and others thinking it to be separate. It is unclear why she was not arrested for sedition amongst many that speak of this. It is said that some adventurers sympathized enough with her demands to donate to her cause or join it, while others were suspicious enough to think she was in league with wanted Virtuous Soil ringleaders and even reported her protest to the Flaming Fist for violating sedition laws of Baldur's Gate.
Gossip spreads in the farmlands of Baldur's Gate that a group of adventurers dispatched some unusual undead activity in the Fields of the Dead, after the Flaming Fist released a public warning about such activity. It is also said that peasants of the newly formed Peaceful Soil, lead by Chauntean Hilda Green, were going to confront the undead themselves, in the name of the common folk and with the power of faith alone, as they claimed the Flaming Fist were not doing anything about it, until the adventurers convinced them otherwise and perhaps prevented a peasant bloodbath.
The day had come, he had not cooperated and so the old farmer was going to hang. He enjoyed his last meal, if you could call it that, and then he was dragged in his shackles out to the constructed gallows on the edge of the farmlands. Today was not his day to die though. As the crowd gathered and he put the noose around his neck, a wagon came at all the speed the horses could muster, flying up the road. The driver a young woman with black hair, while the man beside her bore a mask over his face. As they came near the man cast a magical darkness over the Fist as the woman cut the rope to the horse leaving it to run ahead after directing the wagon to the other gallows. They hopped off the wagon and ran across the other gallows. The wagon collided with the first gallows and an intense explosion only added to the chaos. The Fist guards were all knocked to the ground in the mayhem as the two closed the distance. The woman shot out with a crossbow, the noose severed while the man cast a teleport spell bringing the trio away to safety.
