Dervish
I'm looking for a two-hander dervish build. I've built a fighter8/wm7/dervish10/whirling dervish5 and it seemed decent. Surprisingly high damage for a build without power attack and decent AC with ICE and +4 items and a MBP (49). Two other suggestions that I got were fighter12/fb5/dervish10/wd3 and the same thing with shadowdancer instead of wd. Any other builds that utilize the class well? For the race I'm keen on either a Wood Elf or a Sun Elf (though the concept doesn't exactly fit a Sun Elf).

Re: Dervish
Could try Bard8/SD5/Dervish10/GFK7... It's tight on feats (you will have 1 feat of your choice at level 18 in order to fit all 3 PRC's in the 3by20 rule with wood/sun elf). It's a bit different from the other builds you mention and not sure it's as good as having the fighter/wm or FB levels. I only mention it because the GFK class was improved and I think it would be a good mix of the GFK's sudden / first strike and the dervishes dance and thousand cuts abilities for damage.

Neat build Thorsson, but it goes away from the two-hander approach. I really do like it though!Thids wrote:looking for a two-hander dervish build

Re: Dervish
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
@chad I already play a GFK character, don't really feel like rolling another one. Also, it's a very niche class, only a few builds take advantage of all of its abilities properly IMO.
@steve some of those builds seem interesting, but with the current state of the pve environment (relying on UMD being a bad idea) they miss a bit of OOMPH.
@Thorson looks neat, however I'm set on a twohander build
I think I'm going to play around in the JEGs a bit, maybe even take advantage of the 100% RCR while it's available to see what looks good. If anyone has any other suggestions, they are welcome of course.

Don't worry over much about dispels, the impact is greatly exaggerated now that tfunke has reduced the spawn rate of mobs with dispel. UMD power is reduced but still very powerful.

This is one i have been playing for a couple of years. Good AC for a two hander and a lot of damage.
AC: 10 + 5DEX (17+3item) +5 Mith Breastplate +16(dodge,armor,deflection,natural) +3Tumble +3Dervish +1 LoH +1 Armorskin = 44 +1dodge against current or last attacker = +3CE if needed for a 47/48AC.
If PA/IPA are not needed this build can end up with 50/51AC.
Damage: 2d4Falchio + 4EB +12STR +12IPA = ~32,5 Average +5 Dervish dance +2s6 1000cuts = ~44,5 average 15-20Crit range x3multiplier
NOTES: This builds assumes you have a keen Falchion. It can work better as a wood elf with no XP penalty
