If you're going to have 100% RCR, make leveling harder. I mean, there are already way too many level 30's running around. It seems the server is always half full of +++'s.
yeah but +++ is not 30...

does anyone know what lvl you get +++ i have it on my main and im lvl 24 or 25, i think lol. cant log to look atm.

but yeah, i think the lower lvl content is way better than the higher/epic stuff. or maybe i havent seen some of the better epic content, idk.

11 for ++, 21 for +++

Personally I see no issue with having everyone 30 or near 30. DnD is not meant to have the PCs at such extreme differences in level from each other. If anything, with a 30 cap I'd have new characters start at much higher levels (15 at least), with areas balanced accordingly, of course.

Groburn wrote:50% RCR with lvl20 limit was perfect i think. 100% makes alot of classess really easy to make. I remember making my tiefling kaze no kama with 40% penalty exp. That was pain in the ass to level up but in the end i felt satisfaction and i knew it was worth all the time. Now ppl can easily make this toon up to 29 or 30 with just rcr a lvl 30 FS or whatever. It's just not fare. Keep the 100% RCR but put back the lvl 20 limit. Best option that.
It really isn't.

Going from the 20 to 30 is the worst experience on the server. And if by level 30 you realize that you idea doesn't work out, you have to go through that pain again.

Realistically speaking, I won't have time to level anything from level 1 to level 30 in foreseeable future (one of my chars went from level 18 to level 19 recently and it "only" took three weeks or so).

Therefore I'd rather prefer to have 100% rcr.

Why not make it better? Isn't that a smarter aim than RCRing?

No, it isn't. It will take significantly more effort, and given bgtscc average development speed, this goal is unlikely to be achieved in my lifetime. It has also been repeatedly stated by multiple people in the past that it is not staff's goal to make epic leveling easier.

100% RCR is already here and does not require any changes.

I only want to play one or two character without having to go through obligatory leveling torture every time I want a new concept.

Going from levels 20-30 is a typical XP gap as any game you play. The difference is that on BG the XP is slightly lower and thusly it can be a bit slower than you are used to with other VGs but it is far more fun than say Dark Age of Camelot was to get your legendary levels......

If someone took until lvl 30 to realize their idea didn't work out...id have to say "well that was stupid," as well...this is a role-play server, as if your RP wasn't working until lvl 30 and then it STILL didn't work out, well, the reason they are playing on BGTSCC is equally...misjudged.

It is not. Experience on BG is lower than normal (by factor of 5..10), and in epic levels it is reduced further (about 2x times). i'm also playing ECL+1 races most of the time, which gets reduced combat xp compared to humans.

Yeah, let's be passively-aggressively-judgemental.

If you have awesome character that is not mechanically strong, has a build problem which becomes apparent at level 30 and said character gains critically important power somewhere around level 29, good luck rebuilding that with 50% xp loss.

Negs...me thinks ye need to look up what passive-aggressive doth mean.

You brought up the point using the indeterminate person, third person usage of you. It is only proper that I follow suit by using they.

If I would then be actually referring to the you you, since perhaps you were referring to yourself while making this point, then let me not remain indirect:

Negs, no one, not even you, is going to take getting to lvl 28, 29 or 30 before they realize their build sucks cat butt. You will find that out far earlier. Well, I guess, if you, also if one, is a terrible builder and as well did not ask for advice from the Players using this Forum, you could set you or oneself up for a seriously painful face palm moment.

But even so...it is absolutely NOT a worthwhile point in arguing for 100% RCR.

And since I'm back on this damned thread...why has no one asked for a 125% RCR, maybe even a 150%?!? You know, since it's a moot argument any way after what both Narshe and Maecius stated, why not shoot for the moon?!?

So everyone can get a refresher of what Mac said about it.....

Calodan wrote:
Well that does make some sense to not allow 30 full rebuilds then why not actually give back 50% and not cap it? Or better yet give back 100% up to level 20? That way low levels are instead given the boon? That way you can redo a bad build at level 17 when you realize it and things actually get hard to do?

Not a bad idea. I'll bring it to QC.

And here I thought it was a RP server. Level 30 rp build isn't that hard to imagine.

Nice strawman you have here. Why not forbid item/gold transfer instead?

The point was to treat xp in the same way as the server right now treats gold and items. More or less. Meaning, you spent your time, you contributed to the world, it is yours and you can keep it, if you want, or you can throw it away.

Also, last time I checked Narshe and Maecius can speak for themselves.

Calm down Peeps.

Personally! I find it way Easier to Level up from 20-30 By Role playing. Yes it takes time, how ever You do not have the risk of death or XP hits, you become well known, and you can assist lowbies.

I agree with the 100% capped at 20 RCR. only because I have had it happen to me. I make a build that On paper (nwn2db.com) looks like it would be amazing build wise and RP wise. Only to find out Things don't work like they do, I missed a Prereq, The build lacks something or has something that doesn't fit his RP.

Another option, even though I have no idea how this would be coded, could be 100% XP refund till level 20. Level 20-30. 50% XP return.

Or some other values like 90%-50% Even with something like this No one will RCR to level 30 for free. Still I would find a Way to make -20% XP multiclass hit you if you have such. That way you cant RCR into a build with that straight to level 25 or so.

Currently, the 100% RCR refund lets you bypass the 3b20 rule, unless directly supervised by a DM which i dont think they do. Anything that lets you auto level a PC to 21 and higher would be quite hard for any DM to track much less enforce. When the dust settles after this update and the RCR reverts, there will already be much stronger PCs by those knowledgeable in building becuase they know when to take certain classes in the epics to max out potential and still finish with at least 3 levels in a class to fall back into the 3b20 rule.

I liked the old system, even after my million RCR's.
