From which regions are following planetouched races are most likely to originate from?
1. Tieflings
2. Aasimar
3. Earth Genasi
4. Fire Genasi
5. Water Genasi
6. Air Genasi
I'm most interested in tieflings.
To my knowledge, tieflings exist in thay (slaves), and aasimar are often born in mulhorand (they have devas there). Any other areas?
P.S. I do know that planetouched do not have their own culture and do not have a "homeland" region. However, they exist in larger number in some regions, and searching through forgotten realms wiki for plausible home region for a char is a bit dfficult.

Re: Home regions for planetouched?
According to Races of Faerun:
1. Tieflings - Mulhorand, Unther, Thay
2. Aasimar - Mulhorand (most), Unther, Chessenta
3. Earth Genasi - Mulhorand, the North (Particularly Spine of the World) (3/4 descendants from outsiders native to plane of Earth, no common ancestry like Air Genasi)
4. Fire Genasi - Calimshan, Chult, Lake of Steam, Unther (most descendant from an Efreet that once ruled Calimsham)
5. Water Genasi - Aglarond, Chessenta, Dragon Coast, Sembia, Vilhon Reach (most descendant from water outsiders such as tritons or water genies.)
6. Air Genasi - Calimsham (Most bloodlines descend from Djinn who founded Calimsham)

Re: Home regions for planetouched?
For teiflings - most are from Mulhorand and Thay.
Mulhorandi tieflings descend from servants or manifestations of Set or Sebek.
Thay - dalliances with fiends of all kinds. Can be grandchildren of powerful wizards, produced as a power play.
Many tieflings leave to seek out their own paths.
Unther - reputed to have many more tieflings than Mulhorand but it is a falsehood. Gilgeam the evil and mad god-king had no children but Nergal (their god of the underworld) did have at least one during the Orcgate Wars. Some of this bloodline may still be around. Mages may also produce devil-spawned tieflings.

Re: Home regions for planetouched?
Thanks for the quick response, DM Theophanies.
I have a question, though:
They ARE smarter and more agile than humans, of course... is this a some sort of desire to have a smart apprentice (??? Doesn't sound like wizard of thay thing to do), or some sort of bargaining chip in order to deal with demons/devils?

Could you elaborate? Your reply implies that a wizard (of thay) somehow benefits from having a tiefling descendant.DM Theophanies wrote:Can be grandchildren of powerful wizards, produced as a power play.
