Re: Languages - April 20th Update
My toon seems to be missing one language and I'd assume it's the history feat granting an extra language.
She has common and racial, regional, +2 from int modifier. At least that is the amount of languages she has currently available. However, she also has history feat foreigner that allows to choose a free language.
If I've counted right, she should have 6 but has 5.

Undercommon is bugged, in addition to arcane and cant. Doesn't translate properly.

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
The big language-fixing update is still work in progress, unfortunately.
Apart from languages granted being wrong mainly for races without + or - int modifier (but there are exceptions) these are the known languages currently b^r^o^k^e^n:
Please add if you find more.

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
Did any of these languages exist IG prior to the "big update". It not, then this is probably due to lack of the "translation file" being IG. FWIW, I do not recall adding such files to the master HAK.LuxA wrote:The big language-fixing update is still work in progress, unfortunately.

As far as I know, every single language that was selectable worked fine and had functional translation table.

When I tested 1st of May, only Chardic was b^r^o^k^e^n. These languages broke after one of the updates, on or before the 9th of May: http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=52062Duster47 wrote:Did any of these languages exist IG prior to the "big update". Note regarding 24May update and languages:
Rasael wrote:It can take up to half a n hour for the language dictionaries to entirely initialize. They are loaded one at a time when the first player logs in.

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere:
My character's INT bonus is 9, and I was automatically granted Common, Arcane, Draconic, and Assassin.
I could only pick one more language on login.
Is there a workaround that does not involve RCR? Rebuilding spellbook again = do not want.

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
Well, DMs can grant languages. But we may want to wait until the situation has been entirely and finally resolved before we start involving manual fixes, as it would otherwise create more tech workload -- which inherently takes DMs away from story and world building.Charraj wrote:Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere:

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
I would just like to add clarification here, the DM's using the grant language DMFI function is still not functioning.
I right click the character to highlight/select them.
I click the grant language button in the DMFI which brings a popup of all the DMFI languages on my screen.
I select language (Elven for example)
I get a notification saying language granted in my combat log but does not mention the players name and I can confirm they do not get the language i supposedly granted.

Re: Languages - April 20th Update
From my understanding of the new system, when the fixes are in place you will be prompted to choose all languages you are eligible for upon each login and levelup. So in all probability no, you won't have to RCR, or ask for DM help.Charraj wrote:Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere:

The language issues have been mapped extensively and we are just waiting for fixes to be implemented.
Also, all language dictionaries save Chardic should be working now.
