make 'new' crafting components weightless and sellable ...

Unread post by Theodore01 »

.... otherwise the server will get littered all over with these.

Found 6 ectoplasm (a 1,5 pounds each) from a quick walk in the fields.
Just think of all the low STR toons :o  :?

sadly, desire to fire up a campfire, and burn them, isn't universal :(

True...it does rain A LOT on the Sword Coast...and with all those useless crafting resources auto-placed in one's PC inventory...there just simply is no place for a flint and tinder!! ;)

Without giving away too much, the Ectoplasm can be sold for like 50 gold per to a certain mage.

Everything should have weight. Some things do not (e.g. gold and arrows), but crafting things will never be weightless. Therefore, if you choose to play a low-STR PC, then be prepared to suffer the (occasional) shortcomings of your choice.

Not a bug. Closed.

No offence, but I think 1.5 is way too much for ectoplasm. Or even wolf hides for that matter. Something like 0.3 is more reasonable, or even 0.5.

I was trying to be good in an event and pick up all the ectoplasm until I saw what they weighed. I then figured that my character certainly would not risk her life (getting encumbered and not able to run) for some ectoplasm.

I do not think low strength has so much to do with it. Even a character with decent strength would quickly be encumbered. My character has decent strength, if that matters.

Agree with Monster and I have both high and lowSTR chars. Making crafting items super heavy is just going to encourage mualing and discourage wizard crafting. Wizards are already scarse.. I don't want to punish them further.

I agree, there are some things in the game that need to have their weights reduced to a "normal" amount. I've seen clothing weigh 10 pounds.. *blinks* I don't even think my old floor length leather jacket weighs that much. lol
