Forum Bugs
1. Not sure when this started, but today when I tried to go to the New Classes section, it went there but then threw me back to the Board Index after about half a second. Tried this several times, including as a new Tab and a new Window. This is in Chrome.
2. View New Posts isn't working properly (hasn't from the start). I'm getting 10 pages pf posts when it should be 1.

I think this is because the link leads to the old forum. I have experience this several times and checked the link... it is to the old forum page.Thorsson wrote:1. 1: Realayer is right, it links to the old forum, but the old forum get's redirected. Could you link me the page this happens? I'll change the link.Thorsson wrote:1. 2. I'll look into it. I noticed this too, but I'm not sure yet how to solve this. What is the requested functionality?

1. http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=49041 it looks like all the links go to the old site. I refer to this page all the time and am surprised that non-one else has said anything.Zanniej wrote:1: Realayer is right, it links to the old forum, but the old forum get's redirected. 2. It's the "View new posts" that you can click on in the top right corner. It should only show threads that have been posted in since you last logged in. It's not always perfect but it generally has worked pretty well.

1. We're still weeding out the old links. Thanks for posting. We'll look to solving it soon.Thorsson wrote:1. http://bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=49041 it looks like all the links go to the old site. 2. It seems to only work when you actually log out after each visit. I'm not sure if this behaviour can be altered, but I'll do my best.

Re: Forum Bugs
I think I've got all faulty links in the post you mentioned Thorsson. Would anyone mind checking them for me?

Re: Forum Bugs
I suspect there will be 100's if not 1000's of links going to bgtscc1.com that are broken or soon will be when the of forums die.
If someone has spare time available and Holms-ian level of investigative inclinations, I suggest you submit yourself for consideration to HDMs to become a Forum moderator with the power to find and update broken links. It may be as simple as changing bgtscc1.com string to bgtscc.net, but I am only SWAGing this.

I'll run it by the rest of the forum team.

I can expand on this a bit.Thorsson wrote:2. View New Posts isn't working properly (hasn't from the start). I'm getting 10 pages pf posts when it should be 1.
View New Posts will accumulate posts until you log out of the board or are logged out automatically. Our old forums would automatically log you out after a few hours, but now I've set it to allow you to stay connected indefinitely until you click the "logout" button.
If you want your "New Posts" to function the same way as before just log out when you're done with each "session."

Re: Forum Bugs
There are tons of old links. If we could fix them automatically that would save tens or even hundreds of hours in the long run.
To fix any link just change "bgtscc1.com" to "bgstcc.net" and remove the "/forum" line after it, as bgtscc.net no longer seats links in a "forum" subfolder.
The rest of the link will be accurate. Just those two changes are required.

Re: Forum Bugs
You can perform this in one fell swoop by select regex'ing a query in SQL with an update clause under the *_posts table. Don't use Apache's mod_rewrite, it's unnecessary for this.
Make sure you backed up the table first.

^ I love computers. ♡ They are magic in a box.
I think Zanniej is planning on doing exactly this (or something like this) this weekend sometime. Then all our links should point to the right forum.

I've got some impossible ideas to come into being on the server Duster... you cannot go anywhere anyways. I made a deal with a demon, I have you here for another 7 years.
If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.
