Corm Orp

Unread post by thids »

I can't find the old thread, it was deleted it seems. Anyway, the area is still corrupted. I stood there for about ~40 minutes, and the portraits of characters got all weird with those red/yellow/blue colors behind hem and with some missing hair. Didn't take the screenshot as the game crashed. I'm still there, so if it happens again while I'm there I'll post a screenshot.

I'm going to look into this and see if I can figure it out.

It has happened to me twice and both times I was in the township and walked under a placeable I think, that temporarily flipped my camera setting and then I got the weird portrait colours.

Any chance people could give me their personal encounters with this glitch? I don't really have a lot to go with other than my own personal experience and the more feedback might help me to narrow down the source. It is a beautiful area, but the glitch might deter a lot of players so if we can figure it out, awesome.

Not sure if this helps, probably not... It was a few years ago my character was in Corm Orp. I probably have some screenshots but it would take forever to find them :P

UI related things slowly begin to get weird, character portrait most noticeably but I also recall being unable to right click-hold anything for menus or sending tells.

You do not just see the wonky portrait and then crash to desktop. It seems to be a gradual thing.

Not sure if it is related to a specific area on the map but the areas in Corm Orp I have used the most is the pond and it always tends to happen there if staying for ~1 hour.

So your character would literally be sitting still when suddenly it would happen to you?

Hmm this sounds like maybe one of the creature (NPC's) in the area might be corrupt? Were you in the company of an elven PC at all?

Alcarin and someone one else showed up while Boris and I were there. Alcarin appeared bald.. then everything else went all willy wonka from there.

It has taken awhile, but I think I may have fixed the problem. No guarantees though, as there will be no way to know unless it happens to someone again.
Expect the fix in about a months time. Thanks for the assistance above.

It's Darkhold. Can't be anything else. Some evil contamination of the water, underground and above, or something like that :).

OP issues probably resolved with Tfunke's re-work. Will be part of next areas update.
PC1 = Nerys, Emissary and Skald of the Greyfox tribe, last seen roaming north near Secomber
PC2 = Valqis Sanejmeh; far away cartographer, Oracle of Nut at chaltin QulDaq, former navigator of the Sea Seeker, Reader of Candlekeep and sometime performer.
