Sathia Trueblade of Torm

Unread post by Merlaran »

An old looking leather bound journal often carried around by the Paladin, The first page of this journal carry's Sathia's crest and a list of tithe's paid to the church since her arrival. It would seem to be paid at the start of each new month including sixty percent of her total earrings over the past month. Further pages seem to be private journal entry's based around her encounters upon the coast. Even though Sathia resides within Baldur's Gate she has still requested the Tithe be used in Neverwinter and its surrounding lands.

Adventurer... The word is defined as someone who enjoys or seeks adventure. However after my arrival on the coast, I would argue the true definition is something entirely different. Never have i meet so many incompetent and morally corrupt people in one location before.

Upon my first day here i join with a group of adventures preforming a task for the fist. defeat bandits.. Simply enough one would think, Yet it would seem that an adventurers tactical skill amounts to throwing them self's at the problem until it goes away. That said it did give me some satisfaction to be one of the three survivors, To see the powerful adventurers die to their own stupidity as the lowly squire yet lives. I will say this however, One good thing about them is their commitment. They die, Are raised and charge right back in.. Like little pebbles thrown against a stone wall over and over, Until it finally gives in. Such tenacious and relentless will power is so very rarely seen. Maybe i am to quick to judge and in time i will see that i am wrong, Or that my experiences have only been a small portion of those that take the title adventurer.

My second encounter did not go as well either, This time though we had a scout who announced their position, A sarcastic knight and a gnome scout who loved to cook outside the enemy stronghold. Believe it or not though the knight and gnome did really well and followed instruction. I would be happy to travel with both once more. The real issue came from an elf who decided to ignore orders, And steal a staff of Bhaal to study. Along with her wizard friends who supported it. Now i am not entirely sure what would posses someone to steal a staff of Bhaal for study, Especially one that turns you crazy and evil upon touch. But i guess this is not Neverwinter, People working for the city's guard don't need to be wise or listen to instruction. Thanks to Candlekeep it was returned however, A debt owned to the Guide. I will hunt down some books for them in payment i think, Its the least i can do.

Council of Light? Aliance of Light? I am not entirely sure what it was called but it sure was interesting. Nothing that was decided should be recorded i think. Yet still thoughts tend not to sit still long enough to grab if one does not. I was suppose to be an escort and yet somehow i ended up alone, It seemed daunting if even a Paladin can really experience such.

I was the outsider watching a group of friends chat or at least that is what it felt like. Although there was one who treated me equally by all accounts. Sir Revenark Stonehold, He even gave me some advice although small it it somewhat took the edge of. Once the meeting ended Lady Elvina also proved her self to be kind and helpful. For the others it seemed more i was to new to the table to be listened to, Maybe that was just my nerves though time will tell.

I met a bard today, A gypsy bard. Now i am not entirely sure what a gypsy is but they make very interesting bards. I think he is one of the very few genuinely kind people i have met. Most around here seem to hold some weird grudge against paladins. suppose everyone did tell me the coast was crazy. I do hope i encounter him again although i won't hold my breath, Those of the arts can rarely stand us strict types, And after sharing that much of my story well.. Can't blame him.

Sir Arkaine has approved me attending the next council or alliance meeting.. Guess i hope by then i have something more to show for my self. I need to go find some ancient evil to smite, That will do the trick.

P.S I am starting to doubt Lady Elvina was actually joking about the color coding. So far every evil person i have met was in black.. While indifferent and good had color.
