Adventurer... The word is defined as someone who enjoys or seeks adventure. However after my arrival on the coast, I would argue the true definition is something entirely different. Never have i meet so many incompetent and morally corrupt people in one location before.
Upon my first day here i join with a group of adventures preforming a task for the fist. defeat bandits.. Simply enough one would think, Yet it would seem that an adventurers tactical skill amounts to throwing them self's at the problem until it goes away. That said it did give me some satisfaction to be one of the three survivors, To see the powerful adventurers die to their own stupidity as the lowly squire yet lives. I will say this however, One good thing about them is their commitment. They die, Are raised and charge right back in.. Like little pebbles thrown against a stone wall over and over, Until it finally gives in. Such tenacious and relentless will power is so very rarely seen. Maybe i am to quick to judge and in time i will see that i am wrong, Or that my experiences have only been a small portion of those that take the title adventurer.
My second encounter did not go as well either, This time though we had a scout who announced their position, A sarcastic knight and a gnome scout who loved to cook outside the enemy stronghold. Believe it or not though the knight and gnome did really well and followed instruction. I would be happy to travel with both once more. The real issue came from an elf who decided to ignore orders, And steal a staff of Bhaal to study. Along with her wizard friends who supported it. Now i am not entirely sure what would posses someone to steal a staff of Bhaal for study, Especially one that turns you crazy and evil upon touch. But i guess this is not Neverwinter, People working for the city's guard don't need to be wise or listen to instruction. Thanks to Candlekeep it was returned however, A debt owned to the Guide. I will hunt down some books for them in payment i think, Its the least i can do.
