New PRC Idea: Order of the Profane Fist

(( So this may or may not be a PrC I designed after taking way too many bong hits while simultaneously watching Dragon Ball: Super. Fight me. :P ))

Prerequisites: +4 BAB
Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning Fist
Skills: Concentration 10 ranks, Spellcraft 8 ranks, Tumble 5 ranks
Invocations: Hideous Blow, Flee the Scene

Base Attack: Medium
Good Saves: All
Skill points: 2+ INT
Class skills: Bluff, concentration, knowledge (arcane), knowledge (religion), Knowledge (Planes), Spellcraft, Tumble, Use Magic Device
Hit Die: D8

Monk Abilities: Your monk levels and Profane Fist levels stack for determining your monk unarmed damage, monk AC, and number of Stunning Fists per day.

Spellcasting: At leach new level the Profane Fist adds one to their caster level of Warlock. This also subsequently increases Eldritch Blast damage and Invocation progression.

Ki Power: The Order of the Profane Fist has, through discipline, learned how to focus their Ki (Or Chi) through their bodies and minds. Magically bolstered by the pact made with the Great Unknown the Order of the Profane Fist can use their Ki to increase their Warlockian powers. A Profane Fist has a number of Ki Points equal to his number of Stunning Fist attempts. Each use of a Ki ability diminishes one use of their Stunning Fist.

Ki Dodge: For ten rounds the Profane Fist addes their Charisma Modifier as a dodge bonus to their armor class. Stacks with other forms of Dodge.

Ki Blast (Ranged Touch): By spending 2 uses of their Stunning Fist the Profane Fist can deliver a
stunning fist delivered via Eldritch Blast with a range of 120 feet. The target struck suffers all effects of the Eldritch Blast, as well as if being struck by an Unarmed Strike, taking appropriate damage. They must also make a Fortitude Save or be stunned. The DC for this save is 10 + Profane Fist level + Wisdom modifier.

Devastating Ki Step: Using their Eldritch Essence the Profane Fist can tear through space and appear anywhere within sight, similiar to the Monk's Ki Step ability. The difference, however, is that upon both leaving from their previous destination and arriving at their new one they emit a shockwave of Eldritch Energy. All creatures within 5 feet of where the Profane Fist start and end their teleportation are struck as though by an Eldritch Doom. A Reflex save (10 + Profane Fist level + Charisma Mod) halves this damage. This only targets hostile creatures.

Eldritch Body: The Profane Fist's body becomes less physical and more like a living construct of Eldritch Energy. The Profane Fist becomes immune to Poison and Disease, if he wasn't already. In addition the Profane Fist gains Damage Reduction 5/ Cold Iron.

Ki Blast (Wave): This functions just like Ki Blast, save for the Profane Fist fires a 60 foot Eldritch Cone. All creatures in the blast must make a Fortitude Save or be affected as though by Stunning Fist. In addition all targets are treated as being struck by an unarmed strike, taking appropriate damage.

Ki Aura: By spending 3 stunning Fist attempts the Profane Fist can activate a powerful Ki Aura. While this aura is active the Fist gains the effects of the Ghostly visage spell, Resistance 10 to all energy types, and their Flee the Scene invocation is simultaneously cast. They shed light like a torch while this ability is active. The duration for this ability is 1 round per caster level. This is an instantly activated abiilty.

Dark Transient: The Fist receives this feat for free, which doubles the duration of their Flee the Scene invocation.

Ki Deflection: While the Profane Fist's Ki Aura is active they gain a 50% miss chance against all Ranged attacks.

Eldritch Incarnation: As the Profane Fist reaches the capstone of their career their bodies have almost completely lost all humanoid qualities and become, in essence, a living construct of Eldritch Energy. The Profane Fist becomes immune to Daze, Stunning, Paralysis, and Petrification. The Profane Fist gains Damage Reduction 10/Cold Iron and no longer has to eat, sleep, or breathe, becoming immune to Cloudkill, Cloud of Bewilderment, Drown/Mass Drown, Sleep/Deep Slumber, or any spells that require their target be breathing.

Third-Eye: Upon reaching Transcendence in the Order of the Profane Fist a mystical third eye, seemingly made of glowing arcane energy, appears on the forehead of the Profane Fist. The eye grants the Fist the ability to gaze, briefly, into the future, as well as the power to see the Invisible and see in Darkness. While the eye is open (and thus visible) the Profane Fist gains the benefits of the See the Unseen and Dark Foresight invocations (immune to sneak attacks version). Use: Activated
Chaos is relative. What is normal for the Spider is Chaos for the Fly.

I'm all for warlock PRCs. ATM, we are rather short on them in comparison to other people. And hell, so are monks. So, this works for both!

I'd do the following:

--Clean up flavor text (Warlockian = Eldrich, etc. When making reference to a specific pact (considering a monastery would probably only stick to 1 kind of pact), I would stick to a demonic pact. They are varied enough for this kind of PRC, and we already have a devil pact PRC (hellfire warlock). Either that or another devil pact specific PRC. Since it will have to be lawful evil, and all. It'll be server custom lore, but its not the first time this server has had custom lore (it'd be another piece in a long line of custom lore, rather).)
--Change the casting progression to 7/10.
--Take away "Third Eye".
--Make Ki Dodge give CHA to AC for a number of rounds equal to CHA*2
--Change Devastating Ki Step from eldrich doom. Make it so that you can either select Undead Bane Blast, Tempest Blast, or Repelling Blast (You must have it first) and Devastating Ki Step then radiates that blast.
--Make the DCs use 10+Profane Fist Level+CHA+WIS/2, to represent the mix between monk and warlock abilities.

I may be wrong - but this looks like the strongest PrC I've ever seen. So many special abilities, added to two already very strong (and abusive) base classes, merging them into some kind of (monk 25 + warlock 25)².

I'd propose one single change here, though.
Change the name from "Order of the Profane Fist" to "Order of the Unstoppable Superduper Fist".

/sarcasm.


Seriously - I receive this as at least as strong as a FS26/BG4.
Do we really need even more (over)powerful caster characters on this server? :?

Looks interesting to me, probably really a bit overloaded what strikes me the most is a class that gains full progression in monk AND warlock. Seems that would need to be toned down that it's at most 5/10 for both classes. The abilities I have too little of a grasp on but most likely need to be toned as well but nice creative idea ;).

Having 6-8/10 isn't so bad. Sacred Fist, for example, is 8/10 progression for cleric and 10/10 for monk.

I would say, due to the immunities, 7/10 progression for warlock and 8-10/10 progression for monk (I'm not sure you can limit monk progression, due to the game's limitations) isn't unreasonable. 5/10 is low, especially with the dispel fix. It would be better to strip it of immunities and go 8/10 than go as low as 6/10 or 5/10.

Though, bear in mind also that the immunities it gets aren't actually all that good. For both PvE and PvP they are very niche, and only specific mobs end up using them. I think the most useful use out of it would be basilisks (those 1 rolls on fort saves!).

This class won't be as good as sacred fist (cleric/monk) is. Warlock buffs aren't all that good (they are good for defense and ok for damage, but a good gish needs to augment their AB as well. Warlocks cannot do this.), and it'll be easily dispellable unless the character takes only a splash of monk (in which case, all they'll gain is utility and none of the damage). In which case, it'll be a blaster. And there are far more reliable blaster classes than this one. It offers some flavor, but it does lessen the damage that say, warlock 27/hellfire warlock 3 could achieve.

Its definitely not as strong as FS 26/Blackguard 4. Warlock as a class is fairly low-mid tier, I'd rate is lower than most archer/crossbow characters while being above STR melee.

Since this is a gish, not a blaster, it would become the weakest of the gish classes. I can't see it competing with a well build arcane gish and certainly not a divine gish.

That said, I would still advocate for those changes I mentioned above. Also, removing dark transient is another thing I'd do.

Warlockian? Bad! Eldrich! Great Unknown? Doubtful! A devil patron would be more apt. No need for this feat, however. Just draw from the same pool as stunning fist.

Change from 10 rounds to CHA number of rounds, similar to divine armor.

Change it to 6+Profane Fist Level+WIS+CHA. It is a blast, after all.

Change DC to the regular invocation DC. Change it from eldrich doom to a choice of repelling, tempest, or undead bane blast. The character chooses which invocation before using the feat, and must have the invocation available to use it.

Eldritch Body: The Profane Fist's body becomes less physical and more like a living construct of Eldritch Energy. The Profane Fist becomes immune to Poison and Disease, if he wasn't already. In addition the Profane Fist gains Damage Reduction 5/ Cold Iron.

Change to 3 DR/ Cold Iron, since it does stack.

This is fine. 3 uses is not quite worth the impact, but its good enough.

Dark Transient: The Fist receives this feat for free, which doubles the duration of their Flee the Scene invocation.

Remove this. Its unneeded and you can just take the feat if you want it. Keeping it would cost something else.

Ki Deflection: While the Profane Fist's Ki Aura is active they gain a 50% miss chance against all Ranged attacks.

Seems fine. Niche, and probably redundant for quite a few warlocks. But fine.

Remove this, unless you plan to give other casters spell sequencers. If you want to cast the invocations, take them. Choice is part of the warlock's struggle.
