I bought a lantern from the Merchant at BG, Farmlands East. The merchant doesn't have them in store so someone must have sold it. This lantern works and it's not a banner.
Are loot drops same as the items in stores?

Probably not, because the torch that dropped from a monster worked fine (drop and pick up trick worked on it as well).Blackhorizon wrote:I bought a lantern from the Merchant at BG, Farmlands East. Funny, when I held up my torch during a rainstorm and there was no light I thought it was a new feature.

Torches are completely broken.. tried throwing it on the ground, transitioning, putting it on the hot bar, unequiping etc... Nothing worked.

Re: Langerns and torches, again
So, a year later, any idea why the lanterns/torches bought from a store such as Maltz do not shed light? Seems that they actually kill any light on any other item on you when equipped.
The ones found while looting do work as intended and shed light into the dark world.
Addition: I sold my working, looted brass lantern to Maltz and bought it back, it still works.

Yes, I have this same issue. I submitted some barrels to BG Farmlands and Soubar, the barrels contain torches that work.

Bump! Was curious about this issue, has there been any movement on this? Minor issue, I know, but it would be nice to have a working lantern.

I know that the Burning Stick item is a flaming banner of Waukeen...
