Evasion-free Dwarven Defender

I've been toying with the idea of trying out a dwarven defender character. Karond's DD has been a pretty well-regarded build, but with evasion no longer working in medium/heavy armor, how would you build a DD now? Would you replace the cleric (or monk, or whatever you used for evasion) levels with more fighter, or maybe try to incorporate a different class that would boost damage since that line of defense is gone?

Get two more dex and wear light armour (mithral chain mail).

That's the cheap solution, alternatively keep you heavy armor and aim to gather different sets of items to protect you against x elements, immunity % against a given damage type stack and such items drop regularly from the random loot generator.

Just buy +4 Dex gloves from Elves and wear mith chain mail. Only 1 less AC overall.

I might just make something like a Fighter/Dwarven Defender/Divine Champion...

Evasion doesn't work in medium or heavy armor anymore, Fighter/Barbarian/Paladin/Man-at-Arms get a free feat at level 8 giving them 15% (medium)/20%(heavy) immunity against all elemental damage when they wear a medium or heavy armor.

Oh, okay! Umm... can that resistance be turned off? In case someone casts Energy Immunity on me... which bumps the resistance to 115% or 120%... And the game engine gives me 15% or 20% damage weakness...

Just remembering that if cast both Shadow Shield and Death Ward on the same creature, the 100% immunity to negative damage from both actually turned into a 50% vulnerability to negative damage.

I think Energy Immunity had the same issue, if cast with something that also provided X% of damage reduction, such as Elemental Shield.

I guess Energy Immunity has been changed then - or I remember something else.

We will need to test shadow shield and death ward. If it is happening maybe this can be fixed.

The only current issue that i have seen now is with DR. For example if you cast premonition then Shadow Shield, the DR10(SS) is used instead of DR30 ( premonition )

As a wizard this is good to know lol. What about Greater Stoneskin/Stoneskin? Does those stack, or does one override the other?

The highest DR is supposed to take precedence. You should have 20/adamantine until your Greater Stoneskin expired, at which point the 10/adamantine from Stoneskin would take over. Whether it actually works that way is another question entirely.

There is still a problem with dragonslayer/warlock dr overriding warlock dr from dark premonition as well.

Change EffectDamageImmunity to EffectDamageResistance(DAMAGE_TYPE_NEGATIVE, 9999, 0);
