Making reworked spellschools more obvious to new players!

Unread post by Hoihe »

Hello!

So yesterday I found that the fact that you get to pick your own opposing school is nowhere as obvious as one would hope such a critical aspect of wizard play would be.

As such, I'd like to request that the messages when picking a specialized school for a wizard at the chargen/level up screen have large bold and red letters describing the change.

I suppose without it being stickied it slid down the list some, and I cannot sticky/unsticky any threads in the public forum for whatever weird reason has bugged me for the last few months :P

It's not IG though.

People who don't read forums will remain oblivious to such and assume "well, I played so many years before, I don't need a guide!"

I can create a downloadable .pdf for this if you'd like // maybe some graphics added and such.

We'll try to put a sign in the Nexus or at the IG spawn points for wizards to read, because I get this question asked a lot as well. There are some other things that could use in-game explanation (how the app-changer works, etc.), and one of our highest developmental priorities on the horizon is streamlining the new-user experience.

The opposing spellschool chooser info should probably automatically pop up at first wizard login/levelup.

In the class description, as a custom change notice in the first lines will probably be okay. Will mess up the translations though, more english :/
