Demon / Devil worship - As Deity and their Domains?

You are looking for Players Guide to Faerun page 189 which brings the core D&D/Greyhawk Book of Vile Darkness archfiends into Forgotten Realms as valid "deity" choices, acting as an addendum to the FRCS text quoted by Deathgrowl.

Of course they aren't actually deities, but they allow clerics and grant spells in much the same way.

Can these "deities" be implemented? I am so glad someone else brought this up. I brought it up years ago and it disappeared into the ether and I gave up. I remember there being a fairly positive response from the DM's at the time though, in terms of having it be an OK thing.

It actually should be fairly easy.

It is basically a matter of modifying a nwn2_Deities.2da and providing domains, tlk entry and an icon. And that's it. That's all it takes to make a custom god.

However, I think there may be a hard-coded limit on total number of gods. It was a fairly high limit, though.

Though I can see that the spells will also have to be looked up specifically, as their short descriptions don't reflect correct values and scale. For instance, according to the Realmshelp site Hellfire storm deals 5d6 damage, which is incorrect, it deals 1d8 damage per caster level up to a maximum of 10d8 - the same with Hellfire, according to Realmshelp its 3d6, where the correct is 1d8 per two caster levels up to a maximum of 5d8.

It wasn't really a matter of if could be implemented from a technical standpoint, as I think it would be easy enough to make them selectable along with adding the domains, granted powers and spells might be trickier or maybe even difficult to get implemented.

The question if this could be implemented was mostly intended for the dms, but certainly also important enough to have the technical considerations taken into account as well. I'm happy to hear that it can be implemented, now we just need the dms evaluate it, although I don't really see why it shouldn't be allowed to be implemented as there is evidence that supports that its actually like this in the forgotten realms and likewise in the current year of the game.

What about feats like abyssal heritor, devil touched, vile and general feats outlined in the fiendiesh codexes, could such be implemented as well, or is adding such more tricky? Of course such is also subject for approval of the dms, but I think it would go hand in hand with the above and it would add more thematically to those character that go this route.

Could the domains actually grant limited Eldritch Blast Damage dice. Maybe 1d6 per every 5 cleric levels. 1d6 at 1st, 2d6 at 5th, 3d6 at 10th, 4d6 at 15th, 5d6 at 20th, 6d6 at 25th, and 7d6 at 30th? Instead of spells, they could gain limited invocations too, shapes or essences depending on whether they are Demonic or Diabolic.

I like the icons and the idea with the granted power, however with the spells - they're intended to grant spells. However it would be a nice change if one had warlock levels that they could grant that instead (like a kit), and it would makes sense that the limited eldritch blast also stacked with the warlocks eldrith blast. Though it should most likely only be the law domain as warlocks generally do pacts with devils. If the granted power was an eldritch blast, it could also seem like one the first steps down a much darker path.

DM's could we get a ruling on this, or the very least an acknowledgement that its being considered, as the evidence has been presented, which quite clearly indicates its otherwise than on the server. When you've reached a conclusion, please state it back here as well.
