If you want it for the server, I would say I dun think there is such area near BG. The kind of evil you describe does not really form goverments, or states (drow are NE, but have a very authorative church with most probably LE members, much more organised then Malarites for example).
I would argue that Thay is absolutely evil and decadent, but has a strong structure of Mulan superiority. Might still makes right, and their experiments are probably among the most inhumane on the entire continent, not to mention the personal degeneracies of the Red Wizards (there is quite an f-ed up one with how Aznar Thrul "took care" of one of their enemies, for example...quite a PG-18 story).
You -could- try the Snakewood, as there are some lycanthropes living there, plus evil beholders. I guess you could put some Malarites there easily. That is near Amn though.
I don't think there is a "large evil area of CE" on FR, not at least around the Sword Coast.
So, tl;dr you could say you are from the Snakewood I guess, but that won't be a place you can derive political, military or similar capital at all. Not a society either, just some lycanthropes and crazy people living in a forest. At that point you could even try the Cloakwood...not that big of a difference. But I guess that is not that good of an idea due to server lore.
Just my two cents though.

So, we have Thay, Snakewood and Islands.

What about Uruk Lurra? I don't know too much about the lore of the region (if there is any), but it hasn't been mentioned yet, so I figured I would

Few problems, though: The character is not an orc, and would end up being retroactively known in the settlement in this case, which doesn't sound right.
But still, a very clever suggestion. I'll think about it.

Cormyr allows or tolerates Malar worship. There are plenty of wild areas in that region as well.

I can't remember if this is a 3rd or 4th edition thing, but one of the Moonshae islands basically become one big werewolf country at some point.
But I think that is beyond our timeframe.
There's the Vast, which is the untamed remains of the old orcish kingdom Vastar (died roughly 1000 years before server time, iirc). Harsh frontier, but the points of civilization in it as well as the culture of its human settlers are very goodish.

Thay does have forests, yes. In fact, Thay is often described as quite beautiful, as it is pretty much magically engineered to be. The weather is highly controlled, for instance. It borders with the barbarian country of Rashemen to the north. Rashemen is ruled by the wychlaran - female spellcasters, and the males become berserkers. It is a quite chaotic neutral leaning country. There are also a class of corrupt, evil female spellcasters who gain small followings. Thay also has rashemi descendants (slaves, the occasional immigrant?).NegInfinity wrote: Hmm.
Long story short I need some more feral/wild settings largely NE or CE. Bonus points if it isn't too far away from BG region. Some largely Malar controlled path of land with forests and crazed cultists in them would work. An Abyss-infested area would work as well. Demon worshippers.
Zhents love order too much, so this one is probably no... Thay might work if there are some crazed forest barbarians around (does it even have forests? Pretty sure it is full desert).
Does it sound like any area you heard of?
I don't think the Tharchions of Thay would allow any significant size rashemi barbarian tribe live very long in their forests, though. But Thay does have gladiators. Does that work?
Difficult to find any proper country or even large city-state that is non-lawful and evil at the same time. Especially if you want it to have a Malar focused rule.
There are chaotic evil uthgardt tribes in the north. I think the Anauroch also has chaotic evil nomad groups. Chult has chaotic evil jungle tribes.
I've already mentioned it, but you should probably check out some lore about Unther. That place has a lot of evil stuff, and not the lawful kind.

Luskan is controlled by the Tower of the Arcane, but the day to day is handled by the Pirate Captains so I would think that might fit the bill as a very Neutral Evil city-scape. Perhaps not as wild as you are looking for, but laws are basically only followed insofar as they serve the purpose in coming to the verdict that the leadership wants. Very much a kill or be killed, but don't get caught type of a place. Could fit the bill I think.

I also think the North north of Neverwinter is pretty much wild territory, and covered in woods at that.

I think you vastly underestimate how downright evil Thay is...NegInfinity wrote:Need more evil and less law and perhaps more "feral" or "wild" environment. Thay feels like 3 or 4 out of 10 on evil scale.samb123 wrote:Thay.
Thay is basically, for the sake of comparison, a more ordered version of Drow society (Lawful vs. Chaotic). Their leader (currently) is a Lich. Technically, Szass Tam shares power with the eight other Zulkirs, but our Lich-y Zulkir of Necromancy has arguably the most influence. If it doesn't fit what you want, fair. But the Red Wizards are NOT feared just due to their magic.
Sadly, there is no large area of CE persuasion on Faerun's surface. (This isn't Pathfinder, where Demons invaded a chunk of the world, and the Lawful Good nations are crusading against the Demons.

Hah! I had to consider if I put in the link to the area around Trinity Castle (Snowflake Mountain), or just the link to Trinity. But, given the forums love of the term, I went with that link.scriver wrote:Snowflake Mountain, is that where Drizzt is from?
