The Last Anchor RP Thread

A readhaired woman is seen being granted access to head downstairs after having entered the Anchor, and on her way down there she howls loudly like a wolf. Not too long after she emerged back out with a snicker, and walked out into the kitchen where Mara and her spoke together. "The Foxy Four have reserved the upstairs for one of the following days. Could you make us some flounder dishes?" They talk back and forth. "Sample dishes! Yes - Mara you are brilliant. I'll let you know the time and place as soon as possible." With that, she went on her merry way out again.

*Derik would look over the list, munching on some of said blackened stingray*

"This is really good... hmmm..."

"Take the jerky and the sausage off the appetizers and put them on trail rations. Leave the stuff like the harder breads on the trail rations. Move things like the candied mint leaves and fluffy biscuits and what not to 'Appetizers and Snacks' perhaps."

A shocking incident happened at the Last Anchor today in the absence of its owners. A muscular female tiefling broke in and started destroying the furniture with her unnaturally powerful bare hands. She was looking very intimidating, a sylvan elf was trying to stop her with words, and after few minutes she succeded. All the sofas in the middle of the hall were destroyed as well as few chairs.

It is not clear what was driving the tiefling, but she shouted "Lannia!" several times during her ravage.

((Please note that this was not pre-discussed for damage in the Inn and there ARE Npcs that would have removed you long before such level of damage took place. I have no issue of having the disturbance there or having some sort of argument, but please do not god-mode our NPCS))

"A redheaded lady steps into the Anchor one morning and hands an envelope over to John, asking him to hand it over to Derik and Lannia once they are in again. She orders some blueberry pancakes and lounges about chitchatting with staff for a while, before going on her way again. "

The Relentless Storm crew is now seen guarding the Last Anchor until further notice from the inn's owners.

Lannia is not seen at the anchor often for a few days. She brings in her hunts; wild boar, deer, and various stringers full of fish. She is seen packing things and preparing large volumes of food before heading out again. While there she likely prepares a fresh meal for any members of The Relentless Storm on watch and picks up the invitation left for her.

"I am at the Townhouse in the gate if anyone needs me," she lets the staff know, "I am... Helping with a patient there."

And out the door she flies with a full pack.

Derik is at the Anchor more often than Lannia, usually there to conduct the day to day businesses.

He does travel to the Gate pretty regularly, however.

Ronja turns up at the Anchor to take turns with a guard, and sat the night long up until dawn, where presumably someone else stepped in. When off duty, she leaves a note for both Derik and Lannia, then strolls by the rented ship to leave note for Vala there.

Ronja would find that even when Mara has gone home for the evening, a pile of blueberry muffins are left in the kitchen with a note:

"Mrs. Ranloss says nobody goes hungry in her inn. She hides extra honey cookies in the fourth white jar from the right if Teris didn't ate them all.

-Grammy Mara"

They may or may not find Swabbie with his hands in the cookie jar from time to time. Apparently Teris is not the only one eating the "secret" stash.

A keg of ale is seen being taken from the Last Anchor in Ulgoth's Beard to the workers who are repairing the Relentless Storm.

The shamaness, Lannia, returns to the Last Anchor with a seashell necklace about her neck. To say she looks grief-stricken does not do it justice. She looks hollowed out, her limbs work mechanically and soullessly as her husband ushers her along. The staff are all mindfully silent, if asked they shrug and say it has something to do with family.

She is not seen upstairs afterwards for the rest of the day. Occasionally food is taken down, and the mood of the staff continues to depress, as opening the door downstairs often releases the sounds of despair. Weeping, choked sobs, no matter how many times they open the doors, and no matter how many hours pass. John, Swabbie, and Mara seem more and more quiet as if the shaman's mourning sank into the very timber of the establishment.

The large warrior who co-owns the Anchor with his seen coming up and down in the Anchor, tending to the grief-stricken shaman himself in the way of food, blankets, that sort of thing.

The brown eyes of the man, usually lit up with good cheer, are dark. A mixture of profound sadness and boiling, furious anger is seen in them.

When not downstairs he spends a good portion of the time talking to John and Swabbie regarding planned expansions for the cellar and storage spaces.

Captain Vala heads to the Inn to visit Lannia and Derik having heard that something happened but not knowing what.
