See that thing up there? That's a quarterstaff, and- believe it or not- it's got two ends!
Some of you may be aware and others unaware that in the v3.5 edition of Dungeons & Dragons, there are several single weapons that functionally serve in the same manner as two weapons being dual-wielded, usually referred to as double-sided; however, in Neverwinter Nights 2, this mechanic is notably lacking altogether.
By default the quarterstaff (highlighted above!) is one such weapon, however both NWN2 and its predecessor miss out on coding it as such: in the case of the first game it was likely an outright mistake in the final product, as several manuals and toolkits classify it as double-sided. More likely than not, this mistake was copy&pasted over to the next game.
I recognize this is a lot of text to draw out a fairly small oversight, but this could go on to reel in the inclusion of all existing double-sided weapon types into the server and make a lot of previously nonviable builds wholly viable. I'd like to hear some thoughts on this.
I've even found a few existing pieces in the Neverwinter Vault that were eager to address this issue in one way or the other.
