Getting Feint to "stick" in the Combat Queue
Hello,
Is there any "fix" that can be applied to make Feint stay in the combat queue?
Unlike Knockdown, if there is a pause between attack flurries, Feint will often disappear from the queue.
It essentially means a player has no real control over how to get Feint to "pop" in the combat order, or to rely on it, which is simple AMAZINGLY ANNOYING, and can also literally mean having the effect to put one's toon in the Fugue.

I use feint often. What i learned is that feint always get cancelled if you queue it before first flurry. But when flurry happens, you can queue it tons of time. I used to get like 5-7 feint attempts in a row. And, i don't know any way to make it stop running away from queue.

That’s weird! Because for me, the ONLY time Feint will stay in the queue, is IF it’s used to initiate the attack (as in queued to be the first attack of the first flurry).EasternCheesE wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 7:03 pm I use feint often. For weeks now, I’ve been trying to “time my clicky” when I’m combat, to see if I needed to wait a second, or half second, or 3/10 of a second(!) and delay my Feint click, to overcome the fact that Feint will show in the queue temporarily, the PC seems “paused” waiting for the next flurry, then Feint will disappear and the PC just attacks normally.
Aaarggghhh!!!!
I hate this game.

Re: Getting Feint to "stick" in the Combat Queue
I myself just made a macro for my hotbar number 3: /feat "Feint". That's because i have feint from an item and i don't want the hotbar button to disappear everytime i swap it. in this case it works right as i explained. Not sure if it's changing any of the behaviour, but i should've told it to make sure you know my usecase better.Steve wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 4:32 amThat’s weird! Re: Getting Feint to "stick" in the Combat Queue
By dragging and dropping the actual Feint feat to the Hotbar, I can also get the feat to queue up multiple time in a row. However: a) multiple Feints in the attack flurry actually is bad; b) those multiple instances will also all disappear at once, just like a single instance, which is again this dumb and frustrating problem.
However, the macro for Feint from an Item is genius!

Well, yeah. Feint always get removed if queued before first flurry to me as well. So i can't start battle with feint as first thing i do, same for next round. If i queue it between last flurry of previous round and first flurry of next round, it wipes. Though, if queued right after first flurry, it works good to me.Steve wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 7:16 am By dragging and dropping the actual Feint feat to the Hotbar, I can also get the feat to queue up multiple time in a row. Re: Getting Feint to "stick" in the Combat Queue
Thing is—and I’ve been doing a terrible job of explaining this it seems!—it is ONLY if a start a melee interaction (battle), that Feint is 100% reliable.EasternCheesE wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 7:36 am So i can't start battle with feint as first thing i do, same for next round. Otherwise, like you, it does seem to be exactly as you say: Feint won’t “stick” if queued up as the first attack of the 2nd and/or 3rd flurry.
That’s why I’ve been trying to learn how to “time it right,” but that still seems impossible!!

Re: Getting Feint to "stick" in the Combat Queue
i like feint and use it on both my melee sneaks
while i have noticed it will drop out of queue if you open with it, i have never had problems using it after combat has started
its pretty much just timing... i also use it from the hotbar and just hit it when i want it to attack, no issues using it in the first flurry but ive have also figured out how to time the start of it from the auto attack icon
you pretty much have to wait till the icon shows completely un highlighted (it highlights when the round starts) and then use it
the round waits for all other attacks from mobs and such before starting over, but ive never had it not trigger on the first attack doing it that way
the way i normally use it though is sneak (first flurry), feint (start of second), rest of round feint (queued for first hit), feint (triggered) SA for rest of round
