DM Ink's Quill
As a dungeon master I like to provide captivating, fun, and engaging story lines that work to develop characters in our persistent world

I am happy to work with players on backstories and character development. If your characters story line is incorporated into an event, time will be required to research the background to produce something worthy of the time you put into your backstory. Please allow me the time to read, research, and write.

General rules and guidelines for my events:

> Do not rest until instructed
(I work few rests into my CR)

> Do not proceed through the map (DM Maps)
(Several aspects of the map may not be set up and could be immersion breaking)

>Keep it IC
(You'll get more out of the experience. If there is an issue, I am always here to listen.)

>Please have any pnp spells, shapes, or forms sent over at least 24 hours before a scheduled event. This gives me time to research it.

>One PC per player (Through the entirety of the plot - Please pick one and dedicate to that RP)

>Please be descriptive in your emotes that you intend to roll a skill for (This helps me know exactly what your looking for to quickly provide an answer)

>Have fun!

>Please feel free to offer me feed back.

Note: Not all events are going to turn into full out story arcs. I often do a lot of one offs. Feel free to follow up, but know that there might not be much to follow up on. Additionally: My events are run with an interactive world where just about everything moves, talks, and does its own thing. Not all DM interactions/items are significant. I will always support you in your research, but the determination of its significance must be made by the character.

Battle of the Bards
A bard by the name of Thaddius challenged a half orc to a competition of honor and skill. The high strung bard played against the brutish half orc. The two stood in front of a massive crowd and played through wind and rain. When the battle of verses were completed the crowd was left to make the decision. Based on the crowds overwhelming positive response Grub was the victor of the event. Thaddius passed out on stage after taking a massive blow to his pride.

Flies in the Sewer

Image

Players:
Toman Ironarm
Hignar Krinkrak
Zulandi Ukwanda
Thatcher* Tiefling who will receive a dream.
Alexio Seidel

Reports of flies around baldur's gate were seen throughout the gate. Found on windows and generally around taverns. The number of flies in the last few weeks has grown three fold. The Flaming Fist asked volunteer's looking to make some coin to venture into the sewers and clean what ever is attracting the flies.

Venturing below the group immediately came to the realization they were in over their heads. The sewer was littered with dozens of dead animals, cats, dogs, and mostly rats, but something was off about all of it. Each of the creatures had suffered great wounds but there was no blood to be found.

The group made their way through the sewers and could see something that looked like slimes in the distance. On closer inspection the slimes appeared to be a combination of animated blood and sludge. The group battled the bloody slimes and made their way through the sewers. Upon going up a ladder they found a larger collection of the blood which collected the surrounding sludge and soot. Each of the volunteers fought valiantly, until only Zul stood. She made her way through a door where the massive sludge couldn't reach her and climbed through a pipe to the surface.

By the time the plane touch made it back to the Fist around the fountain, they'd collected the wounded others and made their way into the sewers. The Flaming Fist ordered a group of their mercenaries to destroy the remaining sludge.

The next day the number of flies decreased greatly, and the sewers were cleaned.

General Event Suggestions:

Since my return I wanted to outline some expectations for my events. As a Dungeon Master here on BG, I always strive for interaction amongst players and facilitating the most roleplay as possible. The creation of storylines are an opportunity for all players involved to express their characters and develop them through a challenging roleplay environment.

With this said. Please feel free to express yourselves while completing your skill rolls. For example, when rolling heal you will obtain information generally. There is nothing wrong with this, however more information can be obtained if a skill is rolled on something specific.

Example:

Jebb rolls heal on the dead gnome. (Heal is rolled)
[Jebb finds out the gnome is dead]

vs

Jebb opens the mouth of the dead gnome checking for abnormalities. (Heal is rolled)
[Jebb finds out there are spots on the upper palate of the gnome indicating a possibly cause of death]
----This option opens up additional checks, rp, and further information gathering.

Dont be afraid to be open ended, collaborate, and think outside of the box. You can never go wrong, only open new opportunities.

retirement put on hold

TOT Update: During Times of Troubles, if a character fails a spell. I will be choosing the failing effect at random. This could range from lighting yourself on fire to opening a rift to the nine hells and killing a small village. Smaller failures can include anything from blowing off a limb to the spell landing on a cow leading to a cow rampage. Be mindful of these theatric changes and added fun for failed spell casting. Use spells responsibly :)

Requesting that our PCs grow extra limbs whenever they succeed, as it's only fair.
