I want to thank all the Bladestone foundation folks for the somewhat dysfunctional, but very fun, outing yesterday, as well as whichever DM surprised us with a massive aquatic raid boss that forced our party of jaded adventures to suddenly face mortal peril in narrowly surviving the encounter with such a fearsome surprise! It was a very fun time, thank you all for the RP and adventure.

Big thanks to DM Mimic for letting Natalia Fernanda and the Golden Wheel and affiliated characters try some crazy outlandish things IC the past year and have immersive dynamic consequences! Super fun!

Thanks DM Mimic and DM Ink for running engaging plots for my characters' factions the past two years that ultimately culminated into her noble status. Thanks to DM Smile for the current plotlines.

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
I want to give a big huge thank you to DM Smile for the event they ran for me last Saturday, as well as to Hoital and Alcreed for attending said event (and to Mattie Winterthal for the brief cameo near the end).
I loved it all, holding my feet to the fire about "Are you SURE you want to travel that way...?" and double checking that I've given some thought to how I proceed, and adding some random encounters to spice up the journey (No one is ever going to expect a freaking SWARM of manticores to suddenly appear, thank you kindly crows for warning us!). Addressing some of Ferrick's conflict with regards to his shame and fear of facing his family was an emotional journey and I started feeling the heartstrings pluck while typing out the more emotional dialogue in that event. This really helped in further developing my character, and I am so thankful for the thought that Smile put into the event, and the twists which made the story all the more poignant. Thanks again Smile!

Re: Thread of infinite appreciation!!
Hello everyone! This "thank you" is a bit long!
I have been offered IRL a new contract for a new job: three months of trial, and it might be extended indefinetely once the period of trial is over. This is a chance I've been waiting since when I started my career, and school, about 3 years ago.
What I am going to say is that once I am done with all the narrative arcs (they should be closed relatively soon! Don't forget Saturday 7th, and I'm aiming for 1700 GMT, there will be the finale of the Hellfire Wyrm campaign arc!), I will be leaving as a Dungeon Master.
Why?
Because I cannot guarantee continuity, because a DM that sits there and does nothing (considering the amount of work we should be doing as DM) is not a DM worth having - and I would feel terrible in staying there and doing nothing, like a forgotten book... even if these are the Forgotten Realms!
As some of you noticed, I already put out the announcement seeking new candidates for new DMs, and I hope some of you will apply! Maybe one day I will return as a DM, or maybe not: only the future me will know, and that will be his problem and responsibility!
I just want to say it has been an honor playing with you all, and a pleasure most likely. I want to thank this beautiful community for all the feelings you gave me, for the tears and chuckles and laughs and ENDLESS PAPERWORK (yes, I'm looking at you: if you did it, you know it!
) and generally for being you.
Of course there has been some good, some bad, and also some that is neither of them... but as a whole, I am grateful for everything and every opportunity you (as a community) have allowed me to try and make your characters great... and the DM Team that welcomed me as ADM a few years back.
I give you all my best, and we'll see each others again, one way or another!
I hope, at least once, my plots made you smile, or feel something!
Which is all I hoped for.
Once every quest and event is concluded, I'll leave. Until then however.
Thank you everyone, deeply, from the heart.
Peace!

Congratulations Smile. I've always really enjoyed your events, and the amount of thinking they take. I like being challenged as a player to avoid traps and always strive for the best outcomes and there has been a great sense of accomplishment I took from anything I ended up successful in of yours.
I'm going to decide that just like Ink always is, you'll be back.

Overwhelmingly agree with the posts proceeding this! DM Smiles, you have a special talent for helping us players truely develop our characters in ways never thought possible. The decisions forced to make, whether they had positive or negative outcomes, were always presented in such an immersive and heartfelt way that it really breathed life into the world of BG. Like I mentioned in my PM, your departure is bittersweet! I'm so happy for you to chase those IRL dreams (your so awesome!) and am cheering for you at your new opportunity! The only reason why i say bittersweet.... Is because your so freaking amazing that I can't help but lament even before you have officially stepped down for DM'ing! (This is a compliment even if it didn't come out right!)
Warm wishes for the best times ahead! One can dream that its not 'goodbye' and hopefully just "See yah later?".
Take care you amazing story teller (and person!), may you find success and happiness in the new narrative of your journey to come!
