Heart's of Pirates

“In the absence of love, we began slowly but surely to fall apart.
In the presence of love, available people are the ones who are most dangerous,
because they confront us with the possibility of real intimacy.”

Image

"May my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home, may my touch bring you comfort, and my love be your throne." Outsiders tend to believe that the heart of a pirate is as black as coal, equally gritty and made to burn. Yet since I've lived in the village of Roaringshore, I've bared witness to pirates with hearts as pure as gold. In the Broken Goblet, I've seen first hand, how love can bloom from banters and chastising displays. Any pirate knows treasure when they see it. It's a feeling in their bones, the ting in their heart, the desire to want. I'll say to any man, no matter how brutal or sassy or ruthless a pirate can be. Even they know love. A pirates love is like non other. A pirate will cross the sea of swords, travel distant lands, follow the winds all their lives just to find that particular treasure. They know patience even if it doesnt know them.

"Yer left that morning before I woken...left me to my deepest thoughts..

leave em wantin more right?

"Always that....but there were other thoughts. In your eyes..what of me?

Well... yer Sel... sure yer not tha Sel ye were... ye're tha Sel ye are... its different, but its tha same aint it? Should I view ye different because ye've been through more stuff? done things? I ain't exactly tha same either eh?

"Nae. "Guess a man merely needs to know how the ship will sail. this time..i nae want to repeat what happened last..Nor do I want to assume something I shouldnt"

Man can want fer all tha world to know how tha seas will treat him or if tha ship will hold. Thas tha realm of tha gods wills and whims.

"Does the Captain have any sort of expectations this round?"

I ain't never put any restrictions on ye or expectations luv..... I merely told ye ta treat me as ye'd want ta be treated yerself.

Maybe I should ask ye... how do ye view yerself?

"A man that only wants to return to the moment he was happy most...and willing to do so ...by any means necessary.."

Ain't no way ta return.... only a way ta reclaim. It'll never be perfectly tha same... might be better

"Then I want to reclaim it all..You may not say it so..but I owe that.."

Then my stipulation is treat yerself better... trust yerself more. Tellin ye not ta stray is sorta like lockin tha chest after tha gold's been poured out...It ain't what ye do... Its what ye feel... what ye think at tha end of tha day. Ye keep comin back? thas all I need till we decide tha waves take us apart. Yer a part of me story Sel.... ye think anythin ye could do... could change that?

Only a pirate can bare the storm of time, guided by the compass of desires to reclaim a treasure that they once held. For a pirate, even if the treasure is not in their grasp, what they claim, is already considered theirs for the taking. To any pirate that has love for the sea, no matter how long they been away, no matter how long they may be rooted on land, they will await the day to return to the vast oceans to reclaim what is theirs. I once knew a pirate that did just that. A true Captain knows when the right wind will come. It will be then that they raise their sails and set course for the destination where X marks the spot. A lost treasure is never truly lost. After all, treasures are meant to be found.

couldn't intoxicate me,
as much as a drop of you."

Punishment

“To burn with desire and keep quiet about it,
is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves.”
Image

Some times, people believe that they were destined to forever fall in love with people they couldn’t have. Some wise people will say that there’s a whole assortment of impossible people waiting to be found. I would question to the wise, why must someone live through the same impossibility over and over again. Why does life play such games with emotions? I find it a perverted mockery.

There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it. But I ask when does one know when to turn the page, or when to write another book, or when to simply close and shelf the book? People can think they know, but in truth in such a thing, they will never really know. It is merely a choice offered to each one living, and each one living, will have to make that choice.

Ever reached out wanting to grab at what you desire, only to pull your hand back while you convince yourself, you might be causing more harm by reaching out? Is it fear? A cowardly act? A smart decision? A wise choice? I call it an opportunity missed. And when an opportunity is missed, you will learn regret. Regret is a thing I myself hate most. Why later in life did you choose to wonder what might have been or could have been? When you had the opportunity to change such phrases to "I know what it was like" or "I've had the chance to experience it". Good or bad, either choice isn't a wrong choice. The only wrong choice is you gave up the opportunity to try.

Image

Why want and not have, when you can have and never want? People say pirates are mere thieves of the sea raiding and plundering for what they want and call it a merciless and brutal act. But that's not how a pirate looks at it. For them, they are unfortunate souls, and in order for them to taste the delectable sensation of pleasures of all kinds, they have to take what they desire. They take opportunities even if it risks their lives. Why do they do so? Let a bartender of the Broken Goblet tell you..

Image

"Because its a far better feeling to had obtain what you desire, than to continue to feel the aching hunger of it."

If you want to see what a drink tastes like in a goblet? Then by all means, try it.
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Heroic, Courageous, Bravery

“What if no one is coming to discover your hidden talents,
to acknowledge your untapped potential, to heal you,
to save you from yourself? What if the savior was always supposed to be you?
What if that’s why it hasn’t worked out with anyone else?”

Image

"I had little doubt that they were a part of the pale knight's forces... many of hers as of late have been focused near the Grey Peaks... but .. under the city now? That... " *Her brows furrow together, as her eyes dance with the thoughts that swirled around in her mind, behind them*

*He softly kicked off the tree hardly making a sound, in that motion, he spun over, with a rested hand on the trunk while peering into the woman's eyes with curiosity, his breath subtle yet able to be felt* "Why do you risk yourself with such dangers.." *He side glances in the direction of the nearby secluded village* "When the comfort of home and the duty to protect your kin is what you should be doing?"

*Her eyes follow his movement... she does not flinch or coil away from his movements. She is however, very aware of him, a creature ready to move in an instant if needed like any viper.. but right now, she feels no threat .. so she is simply still motionless. Her soft lips began to part....and she begins to speak soft and confidently after all, she knew when too. Her eyes looking into his as she does..* "Why do I trouble myself with danger that could be left to others? I have long walked by the graves of those who waited for someone else to act ....I am a woman that has taken lives, and who has protected them. I have been the shadow that ended men's stories, and now strive to be the one who helps others to write theirs. I walk towards danger, because I understand it... I know its scent, its whispers, its patience. I know how to silence it when it threatens innocents ... when others are too soft to move their blades to do what is necessary. "

*The right side of his mouth curls into a half smile, eyes gave to admiration. A man who often measures the prowess of an individual, knew the woman before him was deadly in such regard. But he seemed very curious as to her intentions to help others not of her own people. He slowly backs away turning his back to her, for only mutual respect could allow such and equal confidence. He removed his beloved hat to allow the fresh air of the ancient woods to flow within. Again admiring the stream that pulled him to a relax state, he finally glances over his shoulder to eye the woman* "Heroic deeds, courageous efforts, bravery in the hearts do often leads to a quick resting place right next to those very graves. *He spoke with a steady calm demeanor only giving a slight tone of mockery at the end* Have you ever tried asking those graves what they think of the decisions they made? I'm sure silence will be their answer." *The last words came out in a matter of fact tone*

"I am, simply, who I am. A light that flickers, where those I care for breathe free. If darkness touches that, no matter whose land it claims to be, it becomes my concern." *She said with absolution and promise. Knowing full well of her own capabilities.* "I have not lived as long as I have, because I act without care or thought...."

A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself, someone willing to go against all odds for the sake of protecting others. That much is true. I've heard it from a woman with my own ears. Someone that didn't have to get involved, nor needed too. Yet without the world to know of it, she was risking her own life, her kingdom, the hearts of her people to save those that she felt needed to be saved. Would I do such a thing as she has? Hmph, I've had, and I am still unsure if I regret it or not. Would I do so again? Well unlike that woman, I only care for my people, my interest, all that I have worked for. I guess people like me are still needed in this world. After all, true hero's like her need a darkness like me. It's the balance that helps spins the wheel of the world from becoming trapped in a time of madness and stupidity. I know of it, I've seen it countless times over and over, and I'm merely human. In my desires, I had wish to whisper into the woman's ear and tell her "Have at it, and bring forth your bravery and fix the cities woes." Like a motivational speech that help empower the cry's of a coming battle. But nae, I know how it will conclude, she wont be commended with true purity of gratitude. The smiles will be fake, the clasping of hands will be only a show for other eyes. Because to those that failed or didn't partake in her efforts, only care for their own selfish ways. To seek recognition, to be the image of a hero without being a hero. I didn't need to tell her anything. Because she already knew it. The difference between a hero and a coward is one step sideways.

Image

I've helped saved countless lives, but the world doesn't look upon me as a hero because I didn't make it known.

Value

“Everyone enjoys being acknowledged and appreciated.
Sometimes even the simplest act of gratitude can change someone's entire day.
Take the time to recognize and value the people around you,
and appreciate those who make a difference in your lives.”

Image

It is much more valuable to look for the strength in others. You can gain nothing by criticizing their imperfections. You can find anyone that will tell you what you want to hear, but the only one worth valuing is the one that tells you what you the truth in what you need to hear. When a man easily let's go of a women, it shows just how much he had valued her. When a woman replaces a man for another, it shows how much they had valued him. They all made their choice, and they came to a decision on your value.

If you been discarded, dont chase after them, because it will only make your value look even less. It isn't your fault that others couldn't comprehend your value. Some people investigate things more carefully than others. Why? Because they dont want to risk overlooking something important. They didn't want to miss something that they might regret later. Because its better to say you knew what you had than to say, you wont ever know what you had. When the ship has sailed, it is already gone.

No need to be moody. *She grins.* Worst case scenario, we can play at the Undercellar like we used to. Or rather, I play, you bartend. *She adds, before she grabs a scroll and places it on the table.* I'm writing up a new song, want to read it?

"Sure. and speakin ol songs, I aint heard mine in a long time. *He grumbles and glared* "Yer better start having mine on yer persons, pin it to yer arse washed or not!...*He reads over the lyrics* "oooh subtle I see."

*She smiled amused and raises her hands "innocently"* Just playing a good song for everyone to hear! If someone feels like they're into that story, probably they should check their conscience! Drink a lot, be merry, have a lot of humping! It's been great seeing you again.*She grins as she stands up.*
I would tell any patron, if you have something of worth, the last thing you want to do, is give it away. Some treasures are actually more valuable than you know. After all, some lost treasures are never found again.

Rumor's, Tales, In the Goblet

The night was young, no rain had came, but the thick fog did. When patrons walked towards the Broken Goblet, the light from lanterns illuminated from the windows, the sounds of carousing and banters and maybe the sounds of squabbles could be heard clear . Once patrons entered after being waved in by a big mountain of a half orc for a door man, the tavern was erupting with more than a dozen voices. The Tavern was filled like the very glass vessels they served with.

"Bartender! We need to know who attacked Winding Water? People are saying its us!"

"Who said its Drows?"

"It has to be Drows, its their way"

"It cant be Drows, they didnt take anything that anyone knows of, not even people to enslave!"

"Not all Drows raids would take slaves"

"But that dont make sense!"

"It wasnt my people, could have been the Temple or maybe the Bregans"

"Its not the Bregans style, they prefer benifits"

"It could be the very mouths that claim its Drows!"

"Could even be them Do gooders trying to extend their homes!"

"Could be, wouldnt put past them corrupt Baldurs sleez balls posing as Paladins!"

"What do you think Bartender? Did you hear anything? Did you see Winding Water?"

"Pity the ones that died unfairly with no reasons, I'll miss the Inn and the tailor place, and one ol them lovely female guards!" *He grins* "I've had some great time with some great women in there. But far as that House ol Spades.." *Spits to the side* "I damn near had a orgasm hear'n it been burn't to rubble. Fok that place and all whom was in it, I shed no tears for them blimey bastards. But was it Chimney elves that did it ? I don't be knowing, but I'll tell ya, I been around the Coast for a very long time, and each time there be a surface raid by chimney elves claiming ta be one ol ya'lls tea cup moon dancing ones, nine times out ol ten, its a chimney elf surely, just not the prissy ones."

You dont care if innocents died?

*He barks a laugh* Luv, the moment yer think folks be innocent, is the marked day yer become stupid. Nae a bloody soul in the world fully innocent! So do I know whom attacked Winding Water? Nae, nae care either. Only gonna miss the nice big hot baths, and the memories I had with fine women over there, but wot a man to do eh? A ship never goes backwards. It only goes where the wind takes it."

United or Divided

“We are only as strong as we are united,
as weak as we are divided.
It’s probably my job to tell you life isn’t fair,
but I figure you already know that. So instead,
I’ll tell you that hope often fails,
and you’re right to give up.
I have, and now the world makes sense to me.”

-The Slippery Bastard

When someone you love says goodbye, you can stare long and hard at the door they closed and forget to see all the doors life has opened in front of you. When one feels defeated, their hearts grow cold, they let their wings down not wanting to fly again. I'd tell a person, "when we can't dream any longer we die." I believe the world is divided in three groups: givers, takers and the few that can balance both impulses. Giving and loving is a beautiful thing. It is the currency of compassion and kindness, it is what separates good people from the rest. And without it, the world would be a bleak place. If you are a giver, it is wise to define your boundaries because takers will take what you allow them to; all givers must learn to protect that about themselves or eventually, there is nothing left to give.

.....tried to arrange a meeting to share information at the Temple of Mystra, but everyone sort of... Sat on their information, unwilling to share.

"Who are these..."Everyone?"

The involved parties were The Phoenix Company, Ashenie, the temple of Mystra, House Divine, and Doron Amar, Vanira. I think Lord Aaron has already gotten involved, but it's difficult to know when they keep information to themselves.

Why do I find it a grave humor that when people need to unite, they instead become divided? That surely gives no one hope when their lives are being threaten. But then again, Hope is a corpse. A dead thing, watching you suffer with black empty eyes. Any comfort it might have offered, long since gone to the grave. Towns have been burnt to the ground to ashes and rubbles, people have been on the brink of death, conspiracy's has caused so much confusion, the stories that people chase have empty roads. Yet when all the pieces of a grand puzzle are in the same room, those that hold separate pieces have hearts with too much selfish greed that that refuse to lay down the parts they hold. If our fates rest in the hands of these divided hearts, we are all doomed. Doom to perish from a dire threat that could have been snuffed out, eliminated, extinguished. Somewhere, someplace, someone, laughs and takes mirth to our failures. Because our failures are caused by each other, to each other.

Image

Why are you interested in this? Also for some friend?

Why am I interested indeed, when I really shouldn't even care

"Because no one seems to be doing shite or at least the right shite. There's already been an attack at Winding Water, who knows what did that tho some people say its chimney elves."

I believe this matter could be easily handled if people would just work together!

Futile..

People tend to tell others in bad situations, to keep moving forth, not to give up. Even I have told some people that very same thing. But when I find myself in such situations, I feel myself confused, and conflicted when I try not to give up. Its when I chosen to give up, is when everything made sense to me, the world made sense to me. If those people wont get their shite together and work with each other, then let the world burn like Winding Waters. All the while, I'll drink from a Goblet, and be entertained. After all I dont think I care to care anymore. Things hurt less, when one no longer cares.

Influence Corrupts

“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process,
he does not become a monster.
And if you gaze long enough into an abyss,
the abyss will gaze back into you.”

*He leans forth bending at the hips* "If serving a God or an Ancient Power assists in my service to my family...so be it."

I really believe this path is something amazing for me, in more ways then one....... As much I was resistant to admit it, I think Melek was right-- and this might of been what I was missing all along...

To serve, I have a direction. To not serve...I am lost. There has only been three people I had ever bent the knee for...all in which I considered worthy to bend the knee to. *He points towards the hidden door* You are closer now to a God than you ever had in your life. I'm sure you see advantages in that.

I am who I am Sel... For me to give myself to this path, I refuse to believe that I will stop being me. I just am going to believe that I will be a better version of me.

When a person is able to make another person change their entire faith, what sort of person is that? *He leans against a balcony overlooking the streets at passerby's as if they were pieces on a board* Power corrupts, those that seek power should always be watched with a careful eye. But what happens when someone manipulates power, instead of trying to obtain it?

Image

*The coin flips, dark eyes glances down at the many shadows for the possibility of someone lurking within them* I'd consider influence to be a more powerful element in the world. A spinner of lies, a weaver of manipulation, a conjurer of deceits. *He spins around while a single coin flips again into the air* Those that can draw out a persons forbidden desires, is surely a dangerous devil that sits upon your shoulders. *The coin was caught easily* Anyone can flip a coin...*The coin dances in between his fingers so elegantly* But only a few can actually control the coins flip. If I want the coin to flip 12 times...*The thumb flicks one edge of the coin with the right level of effort, and by the time the coin had finish flipping and landing back into the grasping agile hand, it had finished its last flip* Like life, control the coin, then you control the market, control the market, then you control lives. Influence can make a person change mindsets, religious belief's, even a persons heart.

The Influencer is the most dangerous on the board. Because he makes the game to his own design.

Danger Close...

"Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
The fearful are caught as often as the bold."

Image

Why have I been disturbed with matters I care nothing for! My peace is disrupted, my peace of mind interrupted. Where are the ones to claim themselves hero's with reputation ?! Do they continue to sit upon their little makeshift thrones and go about dictating others?! Or are they chasing things that is lesser of the priority?! I have pressing matters that I myself deemed importance! I have my own battles to fight, my own goals to reach. Has the world gone mad?! Why don't people see that if they simply pretend to trust each other, they could make more gains?! Why must people doubt words when it's basically spat in their faces?! Fine then, if they need some motivation, I'll be the one to create it..

Image
The Hellfire is said to have a couple of interests, nothing clarified but no ones really working together...

Many ol times people make statements that say evil is evil and should never associated with. Yet I find it rather interesting on how evil is often sought for assistance. I've often been frowned upon, considered dirty, rotten, a walking element of filth. But here these people are seeking my help, asking for me to reach out to even more filth.
Image
The Fire Knives is rumored to be assisting the Hellfire Wyrm...

Image
You are asking us to do what? There had better be a high price for this...

Image
The Palace is disturbed and the matter needs to be settled...

Image
The City will be in danger, likely already imminent...

A wonder why some felt a bartender could be of any use, I mean unless this Hellfire Wyrm takes the form of a Tiefling and comes to buy a drink in a goblet, within the Goblet, I'll more than likely will never lay eyes upon such a grand creature. And even if i did, I like keeping my head on my shoulders, and would very much avoid said creature unless it was more delectable then a barmaid. After all, I'm just a dirty rotten filthy Pirate...

A Bartender's Assistance

“Forgive those who hurt you yesterday.
Reward those who help you today.
Remember those who help you tomorrow.”

Image

When a man deals with rain, they will have to make a deal with the mud that come along with it. Action reaction, cause and effect. Its the way of the world. Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.

What seems becoming, is people are coming to me for knowledge or in hopes I can find the knowledge they seek. And here I thought I was the least important man in the world. Guess I stand to be corrected. When a man knows his worth, he can measure his capabilities. Oh how I love to see people wanting a visit to the Goblet. Theres just no place like it. Its smelly, its foggy, its has rum, it has one of the most delectable pirates in the realm, me of course, and cheap drinks that burns the gut that's served in the prettiest vessels one will ever find along the entire Sword Coast! When I think of all that...well even I am enticed!

Image

*He had approached from behind, slowly and casual resting and elbow on the edge of the bar as he faces the familiar face* "Well ello there bartender" *he grins*"Wot do I owe this pleasure?

"Hm, just stopping in to feed a gnawing sense of nostalgia. Growing up in port cities got me use to hearing fisherman's, sailors and some times pirates be rowdy in inns and taverns."

*He lifts a hand wiggling fingers as he ponders* "Is your offer of an invitation for me to give an invitation in your wanting to be a Pirate?" *He quick smile forms on his face acting friendly* "Or is it your fiendish eyes miss seeing Pirates?" *He grins*

*She ponders a moment, tapping her chin with a free finger* "I doubt I could be a suitable pirate. Sides, I've things to do on land still and I can't afford to find myself at the bottom of the deep blue sea yet." *She chuckles* "Truth be told, I heard a rather curious rumor the other day."

"OH!" *He starts to walk around the bar with a stagger, soon pulling out a bottle of rum and pouring the throat soother in a clean fancy goblet as he grins devilishly* "The talks of rumors..nearly better than rum and sex! " * He held the rum up in a salute then offered her the goblet*

*She smirks some and takes the goblet* "It depends on the rumor now doesn't it? This one is tied to Winding Water though."

*He raises his brow, surely wasn't expecting the Village to the rumor she might had wanted to share. He leans on his elbows peering down at the tiefling, with of course periodic obvious glances at her neck and chest* "You have my full undivided 'attention" *He grins wide*

*The burnt tiefling soft chuckles as she run a finger along the goblets rim* "Apparently there was an artifact taken from Winding Waters, one that has the capability of controlling Gnolls. Rumor has it that some Drow Mage is in possession of this artifact.

*He lifts a single finger* "I've heard that very thing neigh long ago luv. Not the chimney elf part, but aye something about an artifact taken from the Spades Estates. Burnt down Spades Estates *He quickly corrected himself* "..a blessing in disguise I promise"

"Hm, I know very little of the Spade Estate aside from the previous Guide of Candlekeep being associated with that ... and the underground dealings they did. House of Tieflings right?"

*He looks up pondering trying to remember* "Hmm..well some did call it that but there had always been more talk it was often visited by chimney elves. One of the reasons no one really trusted that blasted ill gotten House. Happy its no more, if I'm being an honest man, and a honest man is usually never honest, but I am now"

"I thought it was foolish to always trust an honest man? After all an honest man can still bend the truth if it suits him well to do so."

*He removes his hat and places it behind the counter and smiled deviously* " Well that depends luv, on whom the man is. So then..let me see if I can put together this puzzle of why you came here..surely nae for me. Your interested in this artifact if I'm puzzling right. "

"You would be right, can you guess why I'd bother to look into this?"

"You have a thing for gnolls., Though I would advise, a man would likely be better but to each their own I guess. Pity." *He gave a quick glance at her chest then back to her eyes and smiled as if his eyes were innocent*

*She'd reach across the bar in attempts to flick the pirates nose* "Trust me, I am interested in men. I have no interest in beasts and monsters like that. I'm not a shapeshifter or druid after all. I prefer my bed partners to have skin, scars, and vigor."

*His lips twitched as his eyes held focus on her flicking finger, likely almost looking crossed eyes for a brief moment. He clears his throat quickly * "Oh I have many scars!" *He quickly tried to add* "From wit to toe!"

"Hm, I can imagine. After all, a bartender to pirates as well as being a scoundrel of a pirate as well, be a shame if you didn't have a scar or two by now. Some might call ya...oh what was the word pirates like to use? Yellow belly?" *She taps her chin* "Bah, that's not you though. You're more of one to push limits within reason so long as the pay is right." *She takes a sip of rum* "Right?"

*He barks a laugh at her joke* "So then luv...I git your interest in this artifact..but a man asks....why? And who knows darhling..a greedy man could be in the market to do nearly anything..if the coin purse was heavy enough...or if a reward was enticing enough..after all .." *He grins devilishly* Treasure is treasure.."

*She hums* "Can always trust a pirate to go for treasure."

"Now a mans curious...just why do you share this with me?

"One only wonders. Do with the information as you wish, you're not the only one who knows of my new found interest in this artifact." *she hums then takes a drink of her whiskey* "Sides, people tell me I should talk more, but I can't stand the beat arounds people do for conversations like it's some Noblemans game."

*He slowly leans over, his dark orbs peering into her ambers, a finger tip lifts slowly and traces the fine craft of the steam of her goblet* "Oh luv, I dont think your really leaving it up to me to do wot I will with said rumor. My belly tells me, yer likely hoping I can help find this item you would consider ..treasure."

Anger

“The truth will set you free,
'but first it will piss you off.
Angry people are not always wise”

I am awfully greedy, I want everything from life. I want to be a man that has many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger.

Anger is an emotion characterized by tension and hostility arising from frustration, real or imagined injury by another, or perceived injustice. And often times it can make you trip on your toes and cause the biggest mistake because your mind isn't calm. Your not thinking straight, your only compelled to lash out emotionally. And like all things emotional, they are never thinking properly. Even the most careful of person will make a mishaps the moment their blinded by anger. Sometimes their anger can be soo great, someone else explodes in a pool of blood, or paralyzed right where they are, unable to move, only able to breath, and watch as their every existence is wiped from the world.

If you spend your time hoping someone will suffer the consequences for what they did to your heart, then you're allowing them to hurt you a second time in your mind. For some people, they know how to use and control anger, for themselves, or even to others. Everyone has something that's important to them, threaten what's important, and you will bring about a wrath unlimited. The tactic is calculating, clever. I would know, I've done it thousands of times.

Loyalty Gone

“If by my life or death I can protect you, I will.
I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me--they,
and the love and loyaty I give them,
form my identity far more than any word or group ever could. ”

Image

"Then laugh at my death when I disappear. I doubt you'll even remember my name too. So it is what it is. A fitting end for such a worthless woman like me no doubt."

*He chuckles and smiles* "Lovers quarrel..*He stands up* "You two really ought to just get a drink together. Might relax the mood maybe more."

I don't laugh - I don't care. Your fate is yours alone - you decide if you want to wanted to do - you always have in the past. It was you who told him *His hand lifted to Sel.* Of it. The only woman who never betrayed me in the end is gone now..Though her and I were only family - nothing more than that. The rest of them - my kin - all of them - it's been an ever knowing amount of people promising I, vanishing, or downright betrayal. . . So why should I help them?

"Told me wot? *He raises a brow* "And who yer talkin about?"

"About his plan to kill ..... now she's gone."

A tiefling. One who sacrificed herself for I to live. Someone . . important to I.

"Oh that..you wasnt suppose to tell me that? " *He glances between the two then shrugs* "Well if it eases the hearts, I surely never repeated that.

"Bartenders at least know to keep secrets to black mail others with. And you can black mail me into anything probably by now Sel. I can't say I can do the same for you."

"Well regardless, I surely never repeated that knowledge. Doin so would had SURELY put me in a very complicated position, one I much rather not be in."

The one I speak of was the first and probably the last tiefling I'll ever trust. I'm tired of everyone - of humans - of elves - of tieflings.

It has been said, Your truest friends are the ones who will stand by you in your darkest moments because they're willing to brave the shadows with you and in your greatest moments. But in truth, the only way one will really see loyalty, is if someone died for you in order to save your own life. Such a loyalty is full, rare, and sometimes only ever seen once in a life time. Not everyone will ever get to experience such loyalty. How many can really say, they have people that are willing to die for them and know it to be truly absolute? Not many. It's so rare, sometimes we wish to dig such loyalty from the grave wishing we had them by our side again if not forever.

I've experience such loyalty. And I will say this, to have someone die for you, or for a cause you both believe in, is a loyalty unmatched. Yes there's been silly romance stories where a lover gave up their own life to ensure their other half lives. But to me, thats quite easy, after all, love can make anyone crazy. But when someone you dont really know, actually dies for you, now that...is a loyalty in its purest form. I've heard tales where brothers killed each other, or one of another, and thats a bond bound by blood, nae much loyalty in that. Sometimes even deranged cultist zealots or religious fanatics would sacrifice themselves for some greater good or power which ever it be. But that too I find equally as easy at a romantic couple. But what happens when someone dies for you, simply because they were instructed too. Now that is a loyalty I'd embrace with a cold heart and keep closer than any pillow.

I've seen nobles with people willing to die, in order to cover their corrupt deeds. When a person has loyalty like that, I surely dont call that love. I call it power. And when they have power like that, well...its something to envy. Until a person has such power, they are only surrounded with people that talk a lot boasting and praising you. To me, their just soothing your arse while their noses is shoved deep in it. Fakes, liars, manipulators, the lot of them. Betrayers should burn and rot in the nine hells for eternity. Disloyal people should always be made an example of, I'd skin their flesh and let their innards hang from their bellies while hanging them from a tree. A brutal mess, but some times....fear is a great tool to create loyalty. It's really not that hard to weed them out. Strangers ask you questions, enemies question you, loyal ones do anything told or untold without questions.
