For those who are new or have never attended an Open Stage Night, click the spoiler:

Hidden: show
It is a Theater hosted event where -anyone- can come up to the stage and perform something along with the theme set for the evening. The winner will be awarded a prize sum.

The place is The White Mask Theater, Palace District in Baldur's Gate.

Please be considerate of the length of your performance, to allow others a bit of stage time as well.
Performances can be music, dancing, singing, magic show, acrobatics etc.

Any questions can be asked in a PM or meet any of the Theater troupe IG.

No, you do not have to perform anything and yes, you can come to watch only!
After the open stage night ended, it seems one of the songs performed there was taken up in the cities taverns and inns. It can be heard on occasion sung over raucous laughter and the clanging of full mugs of ale.

"The Damsel of Darkhold"

How dare you! Issue challenge to me?
Stand there and listen, while I speak my decree.
I cannot fight, I refuse the duel.
I am but a damsel, don't treat me so cruel.

The Damsel of Darkhold, the title I claim.
Treat me like a lady, I do so exclaim!
Ladies don't duel, we sit prim and proper,
Paint our faces and nails, please excuse my yawper.

But in the face of such acts, requests of confrontation,
I must rely solely, on my "friendly" male relations.
They'll defend my honor, while I sit in my tower,
let them fight in my stead, whilst I cringe and cower!

And while the world sees me, as a miserable worm,
I must face the fact, that all I do is squirm.
I can't handle the difficult, I never grew up,
I bristle with threats, but I'm really just a pup.

So I'll sit in my petticoats, sipping my tea,
"The Damsel of Darkhold," Maximilian, that's me...

Set in the elegant splendor of The White Mask Theater, the Open Stage Night drew quite a crowd! Talented performers stood at the forefront and lifted their voices in song and story to the posted theme: Wyrms!

In what appeared to be an impromptu, last-moment change of plans, Ashan Wayne somehow persuaded a reluctant Alexandra Keenan to accompany him on stage. The Reader of Candlekeep was observed frantically composing a piece mere moments before the pair gave what became the prize-winning performance: an ode to the Song Dragon, represented by the polymorphed genasi.
"Song Dragon! Since lyrics are the mode..."
"...'tis to thee I dedicate my ode."
"Red hair flowing in the winds..."
"...musical words graced on lips, be ye foes or friends."
"An impenetrable fiery spirit that I must publicly commend."

"Song Dragon! Oh ye tyrant of the yard..."
"...great namesake of that furious guard."
"Be ye still in mortal form?"
"Or, instead, an ever-changing inferno tempered warm?"
"Love! In chartreuse eyes a swirling storm."

"Song Dragon! Change with me thy fate..."
"...to me give up thy place and state."
"And I will give you mine."
"My mind and heart enlarged, thy body freed and fine..."
"...how blessed now my lot and also thine!"

"Song Dragon! My ephemeral muse..."
"...a beggar knight why didst thou choose?"
"Dare I to dream? Willst thou dream with me?"
"Hear me now as I serenade my decree!"
"Spread thy gentle wings and soar into infinity."

A new song can be heard delivered in taverns and drinking halls along the coast.
The Shadow of the Sunrise

Have you e'er watched the sunrise,
rising from the hills below,
And wondered to yourself, bemused,
if the sunrise has a shadow?

As the Dawnlord streaks across the sky,
is it followed close behind,
by a figure, fiery haired,
seeking him to intertwine?

She seems to never catch her prey,
it is just an endless chase.
But our figure, fiery haired,
continues with the race.

And our sunrise, unperturbed,
fulfills his lightful duties,
he simply moves across the sky,
unconcerned with fire-haired beauties.

And we the mortals, on ground below,
watching this display,
See the figure, fiery haired,
acting like a child, and this? Mere child's play.

She plays a simple game of tag,
striving hard to catch the sun.
To her this isn't serious,
it's just a silly bit of fun.

But the duties of the sunrise,
give one little time for games.
He can't spare time for Fire-Hair,
the chase brings her only shame.

Perhaps it's time to quit this folly;
bid the sunrise fond farewell.
And go and chase a man more interested,

Lady Embel Parel.

Edmund posts the following note on a cabin in the woods, the common areas of the Silver Rose Keep, the Pathfinders Hall of the Order of Lions and on the bar of the Pheonix Company Lodge. The writing is in sloppy, carefully made letters that almost appears to be a child's writing, riddled with mistakes and phonetic spellings.

Deer Frends of the Gate,

This evening in the farm lands Edmund Tellerin of Chauntea is hosting a Barn Raising. With the recent trubles in these parts seems to me folks need a reminding that Chauntea's bounty comes to them who roll up sleves and work for it. Much damage was done in the recent trubles, but sitting about waiting for things to recover is not the way.

To better remind folks the only way ahead be to come together and work to rebuild what was lost as we call for Chauntea's blessings, a family who lost there farm in these trubles has been found. Donation of lumber and building supplies have been gathered for them. This afternoon a barn raising is being held for them in the farmlands, outside the Gate and up the path to the left is where the barn is to be raised.

I ask those who are willing to help to come. While the supplies needed be gathered, takes many folks to raise barn. My hope is those of you who find helping folks to rebuild agreeable, so a new barn might stand in the farmlands as a sign to the local folks that the way forward is to come together, follow the teachings of Our Great Mother, and rebuild that which was lost is the only way forward, will come.

Food and ale to be on offer for all who come willing to aid the labors. Hope to see many there. Please pass word to any others who might be inclined to come offer help.

Great Mother's Bounty to all,
Edmund Tellerin.

///Hey there.
Edmund is going to be holding the barn raising this evening a bit after 5pm EDT (9 GMT) in the Eastern Farmlands.
Pardon the short notice, we have a willing DM (thanks Lobo!) who is available at this time. Will ask the DM to put a shout out when we get started.
Thanks. ///

Rumors may begin to circulate of a local merchant's sudden turn of financial luck.

After a long fit of financial hardship, a local ferryman may be heard of suddenly turning his business around. The once alcoholic seems to smell much better, taking care of himself, and suddenly recovering from a long string of bad business selections and personal losses including his wife leaving him.

Rumor may also support that he attributes this turn of luck to newcomer Preistess Adonia Merlo, of Waukeen. Though who knows how many times the Amnian name is butchered down the rumor mill.

Regardless, the priestess was more than happy to receive his considerable contributions to Waukeen, eager to tithe for his recent string of success to Liberty's Maiden. The priestess has asked him to spread the word, and was seemingly relieved for his sudden shift from pauper to riches.

The priestess herself can be heard at the Cloak and Helm within the Gate retelling this story, in hopes of propagating further business. Using his story as a means of spreading the word, and hopeful patrons, to Waukeen's glorious bounties.
Floating along.

After successfully raising a new barn in the farmlands with the help of the many who came to aid the work Edmund stands before the local farm folks who might come to see the new construction. He speaks to them in his preaching tone for all to hear.

Good People of the Gate!

My name be Edmund Tellerin. I am a Priest of Our Great Mother Chauntea come to speak to ya all amid these troubled times.

Dark days be behind us and again there seems to always be storm clouds gatherin from afar. Yet should we have sorrow for what was and fear of what will be?

Well. I say no good people. No to sorrow, No to fear.

Why do I say so? Because I have faith in Our Great Mother and all of ya good people too.
No harms done to yer lands, no losses we have seen are beyond repair. Those who see only ruin and loss need take stock a moment and consider the teachings of Chauntea. For there is where we find hope. That is where we find our path to fixin all that was lost better 'n it was before.

Ruined barns and trampled fields may be re-build and re-plowed. Nay. I say they must be. Chauntea's bounty is available to us all, yet She does not send it to those of idle hands.

Yes, we need raise our voices in prayer to Her, but Her love is a teaching love. A love that calls on us to roll up our sleeves and work for that which sustains us. A love that calls on us all to learn the ways of Her lands so we may be as a shepherd to the life She sends us and that sustains us.

Every stroke of the plow is a prayer to Our Great Mother. Every seed lain in the soil is a prayer to Our Great Mother. And pray we must. We must raise our prayers to Her by renewed efforts to tend Her fields and plant life where once there be only trampled dirt. That which the ill minded have burned and destroyed must be plowed under where ash 'n ruin might be reborn through the soil as nourishment for our crops.

I call on ya all, good people of the Gate, to turn with helping hands to ya fellows in love of Our Great Mother so we might come together in Her name and reclaim all the goodness that was lost. If ya own fields be plowed ask ya neighbor if they need a hand for theirs. If ya barn be standin but the one next door be burned to ash call ya friends 'n neighbors together and raise a new one for ya fellows as we have today.

Good people of the Gate, do not allow talk of fish bein brung in from the sea, or of wizerd folk talkin foolery to ya of bread coming from the air from unseemly spellcraft to lull ya idle. A man does not stand in an empty field 'n pray food come to him and his. He prays by takin up hammer and plow and tending the land in the ways taught to us by Our Great Mother.

Good people of the Gate, do not allow servants of vile Gods lead ya astray in this time of concern. There is one path ahead to heal these lands and it is the path shown to us by Our Great Mother.

I Edmund Tellerin say this to ya in the name of Our Great Mother Chauntea and pray most earnest like that ya hear my words in Her name.

Bounty of the Earthmother to ya all.

A small party of the hardiest and most fiercely reputed Thayan Knights ride out from Baldur's Gate on the lead of Boris Vyacheslav. The herculean Knight-Commander is mounted upon his black warhorse, Xenubat, in platemail barding. He bares a heavy Zalantar lance and is dressed to do battle.

On reaching the Field of the Dead the knights break formation to gallop, and together ride for Darkhold.

Reader Alexandra Keenan and Watcher Alexander Marshall of Candlekeep made their way to the Temple of Tyr, where they first met with High Priest Sulnar and then the heads of two noble houses - Heinrich Harrod and Michael Rothschild. A candle-mark or so later, the scribe and her knight departed back to the library fortress.

Adventurers sought

Unread post by Tantive »

A tall red haired woman, with a backpack sorted with wizardly goods left a notice on the bulletin board of Baldurs Gate. She seemingly searched through the taverns for a few adventurers and on the streets. Those who would look upon the board what message she left behind would read the following.
Maura wrote: Able adventurers,

I am in need of a few skillful individuals capable of dungeon delving, or skills assisting a party in such. This offer is limited and expires today by nightfall. Meet outside at the patio of the elfsong tavern when interested.

Maura
((Today, Thursday 25 august - 9 PM GMT. Event for lower levels, preferably between level 6 to level 12))

Days later, after having served its purpose, the message has been taken down from the bulletin board

A tower of smoke towers into the sky's near the location of Bauldurs Gate. People who would travel toward the southern bridge would notice a large flaming whirlwind flowing through the lodge! A large group of Flaming Fist would seem to be in the process of trying to put out the flames while struggling against the flaming winds and extreme temperature of the ever growing heat!

What could have appeared as a fire for some, transpired to do much less actual damage. Close to Fist outpost, it didn't have time to grow into something disturbing.

When heard of mob shenanigans, some Company members hurried to see what happened. They found sizeable Fist group guarding all entrances to the Lodge, most fires taken out, and no any mob around. They were allowed into the lodge only after they shown their pins, in shape of Phoenix.

They took care of what small fires left inside, removed flammable material from near the windows and did general cleaning. They talked to Fist officers and among themselves, name Hinzel could be heard several times.

Image

Afterwards, some of them left, other stayed inside to watch for any more intruders, that might somehow bypass watchful patrol eyes. Even though it was clear that the one mob wanted was not there, it would be best, they thought, to not leave things to just Fist care - for some time.
