Appearance changer for mithral armors at Maltz

Unread post by sinopip »

The NPC "Blackwater" at Maltz in BG can't change fullplate, breastplate and chainshirt made of mithral (those I could test), when there is at least one special property (apart from Material (Mithral)).
In that case, only 1 choice of appearance is possible (some kind of warlock armor) for mithral armors.
This issue's been there for some time, hope it will be working fully in the future.

On some mithril-armors (as example Breastplate of Hidden Imaskar) you get only One choice.
Choose that one.

Then use the default appearance changer to change it now without problems to the appearance you like.

No the issue is still there. You have to get a DM to help you and will need to know what appearance number you want.
Roland; svirfneblin fist of the forest and eco terrorist.
Heinrich Von Rittermark; Everwatch Knights of Helm
Frederick Von Rittermark; Paladin of Azuth/Mystra
Erik Von Rittermark; Unknown

It's not an Issue - it's a workaround - and works like a charm :D
I just changed a mithral fullplate with 3 random attributes two days ago. ;)

Always screenshot first :D
If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.

IIRC, Luna set up a "changing room" feature for this. I put an example in Soubar. I believe the barber shops in Sshamath and BG offer it too. Perhaps someone will try this out as I cannot test it with my own PCs.

FWIW, I really do not know why mithral armor appearances were split from other metals on the AppChanger. The feature predates me being sucked behind the curtain.
PC1 = Nerys, Emissary and Skald of the Greyfox tribe, last seen roaming north near Secomber
PC2 = Valqis Sanejmeh; far away cartographer, Oracle of Nut at chaltin QulDaq, former navigator of the Sea Seeker, Reader of Candlekeep and sometime performer.

This ^^

No solution is required, just the above!

To break it down into plain language.

1. Go and visit Blackwater and ask to change mithral armour appearance.
2. You will be given one possible appearance choice. Choose it and save.
3. Exit Blackwater.
4. Open the regular Item Appearance changer from the NWN Eye icon and alter your mithral armour as you would with any other regular armour.
5. Enjoy!
