Suggestion: Hierophant PRC

Unread post by Syracuse »

Heya, guys.

So after a bit of muddying around with the Hierophant PRC, I realized that a full druid can not properly gain access to this pretty great PRC without multi-classing. Which kinda seems like a shame!

Now, I'm sure that there's probably work at hand behind the scenes to shift the Lore skill demand towards knowledge religion, as that might make a fair bit more sense than Lore: Arcana. But, I wanted to toss another suggestion out and see how it floats.

Why not go with the True Believer feat, in place of the lore skill requirement? As it stands, the feat is literally useless unless you plan to make a Silverstar. It seems like it'd appropriately fit the theme of the Hierophant PRC in exalting your God for more hardcore spell DCs and unique powers. Just a thought. Plus, it'd give Silverstars another thing they could do. I don't see too many of those guys around anymore, to my knowledge.

You should now see Lore: Arcana in place of plain-old "Lore" in your Skills List. There are now ten different Lore/Knowledge categories.

Also, on Level-up or new PCs, all of the Classes' Skills lists are (hopefully) up-to-date w.r.t. PnP-V3.5 or other Canon Sources. Class Skills will be blue. Cross-class Skills will be white. The PRC's prerequisite Skills lists were also updated.

IIRC, we also added at least one Lore-type as a Class Skill to all classes. So poor barbarians now get Lore: Nature as Class Skill. I hope. There were ~90 files to change for this. :?
PC1 = Nerys, Emissary and Skald of the Greyfox tribe, last seen roaming north near Secomber
PC2 = Valqis Sanejmeh; far away cartographer, Oracle of Nut at chaltin QulDaq, former navigator of the Sea Seeker, Reader of Candlekeep and sometime performer.

Something to note to. (Atleast at the moment) Druids do not have access to lore: religion as a class skill. Druids get lore: nature. So, hierophant druids (pure ones atleast) will still be an impossibility with that change. And spirit shamans too, at that.

Is it possible to do lore: religion 15 for cleric or favored soul OR lore: nature 15 for druid or spirit shaman? Or perhaps true believer for all, imo that was a good suggestion too.

Hot damn, man! ;-; Well, I hope that a 'thank you' from here can cut the mustard - for what it's worth, I've been warming up tot he recent change work. And I know you guys will grind those pesky bugs down til they're obliterated!

But! Auhm - unfortunately, and in my silliness, I did forget, and metaquad didn't - it's true! We don't get Lore: Religion! But, uhm, I'm not sure if anyone else would view a whole 'worthless' feat as balance enough towards a big skill point investment like 15 whole ranks of a single skill (for those that're skill starved, like any... pretty much not rogue/bard, that can be particularly rough to effect.)

True Believer is a bad idea, because Clerics are feat starved as it is. They are also skil starved, but Knowledge requirement makes sense, at least. As is metamagic feat requirement. You are supposed to be learned caster to be a Hierophant.

True believer would also make sense from an RP perspective.
