Basilks

Unread post by Zyx »

So I am fighting some Basilks and say to myself.
You awesome man you. You should make sure your summons do not get turned to stone.
So I call elemental and choose earth. They run and start bashing the basilks in. They are pretty awesome. Until they are turned to stone.

On a side note: The resist petrify spell doesn't work either!

And the Basilisks in the UD (Basilisk caves) seem to have lost their stoning gaze at all.
Is this intended or am i just lucky ?

There were player complaints so the decision was made to neuter the UD basilisk.

On the upside they no longer petryfy themselves when you move past them and they use their fiercest glare.

It was an area no one used but it was made a viable area with the change. Only certain type of basilisks have the petrifying gaze anyway.

To me it was often used because of the quests there. Now it may have been that is all they ere there for, personally I fought some. But the lack of use should not be reason to remove their gaze. IMO.

If you don't want that just switch out the monsters tbh.

Perhaps dedudes new scripts could be used to spawn Greater Basilisks as bosses in the area occasionally?

That would be cool, would bring some of the fear back, but there is one problem, sometimes you killed the mob but it succeeds in pretrifying you before dying, and then you're stuck. Could it be made so that you can choose to die or something when petrified?

Ah, but the best fun of the glare were when the petrification caught you the second after HIPSing on a highend sneak. Long live the unseen statue! :D

Those with the glare have been consumed by the cubes. Now the cubes will ... glare.
