With 100% RCR drawing to a close, I feel like trying out shamelessly OP looting-grinding builds. (For what it's worth, while the builds I am looking for may be shameless, I myself do still have some measure of shame. Not enough shame to keep me from making this thread, though. )
So far I have tried a Strength-based Bard/Rogue. What are some other famously OP builds for looting? Favored Soul? Monk/Cleric/SF? How do they measure up against each other?
Is a Strength-based Bard/Rogue already the best I am going to find?

With my dwarven Silver Monk i can solo almost all surface "dungeons". even the balor with some ressource investment.
My dwarven Barbarian/Frenzied Berzerker also can do a lot of stuff and dont need magics.
Overall i think best results are with divine melee builds.
If you know the server well you can do a lot of things with non-optimized builds.
Since years i have a particular build as idea who can almost do all kind of stuff.... but i am to ashamed to post or mention the actually build here (close to 80 AC selfbuffed, but still a total killer machiene). Never build it myself!

The Silver Monks are the only dwarven monk order. Just Lawful Good alignment is allowed and they all worship Clangeddin Silverbeard. They are allowed to multiclass as DwarvenDefender and Divine Champion.
My Silver Monk build has 20 Monk/7 DwarvenDefender/3 Fist of the Forest(RP as Fist of the mountain).
AC 52, AB just 38, WIS 23, Fiery Fist,Blazing Aura, Intuitive attack.
I ve done an updated , slightly superior version for a friend.

I dunno that I'm qualified to answer this but out of the 20 or so builds I test drove in the past few weeks my HiPSter rogue is an absolute face melter.
One trick pony, yeah, but dat DPS tho! Feint seems to be the critical component so you can still get sneak attacks in the round between HiPS. But I wasn't coming close to those damage numbers with much else. 300-400 dmg points per tick very easily, but as I said incredibly boring playstyle.
The pure Lock I built with PTWF also put up some very nice sustained dmg especially against bosses whereas the hipster has boss troubles. Lock was also way more tanky for obvious reasons but at the cost of pure dmg output. But you said 'grinding' not boss killer so I assume ultimate high AC isn't vital.
That monk build above those is sick, I just reaaaaaaallly don't enjoy monks whatsoever.
Dragondruid obviously well mentioned, received many awards in its tenure.
Undead bard (B/PM) is interesting, finicky, but on paper very powerful. Late to finish.
Halffeyconlock (wlk30) a surprising contender! One of my strongest loot farmers I've experienced. I'd argue its a better performer than any monk I've rolled. Gear reliant.
Seen a few decent m/c/heiro/sf builds getting around. fairly strong stats, if you don't mind regular buffing.
~Claret - Proprietor of Clarity Cellars.
~Wouveir - Hellstorm Crew
~Adolamin Marblerune - Arcane Engineer and Lorekeeper citizen of the Kingdom of Kraak Helzak. [His Story]
~Harrison Remillard - Morninglord of the Song of the Morning Temple.
Since you want shameless: my best damage dealer by far is a fully self-buffed and equipped undispellable axe hurler (very different class combos for UD and surface but similar results). Its lowest attack still has 35 AB and it does ca. 630 dmg per round if every attack hits and there is no DR. It's also tanky enough to tolerate those AoOs in close combat and a good melee fighter in case the ammo runs out. That ammo is pricey, however, and the long buffing sequence can be annoying. The best-known solo-survivor build I remember is of course the following by Karond (which the axe hurler was designed to take on ). viewtopic.php?f=64&t=43906

I can testify to this being a really strong and good allrounder that can solo bosses. The problem is with the abundance of traps found on this server that will slowly but steadily drain from your high HP pool to the extent that you will need to use a lot of healing supplies and regen spells cast from items. One of its strong sides tho is that you're able to hold a ton of loot and since you don't rely on buffs you can stay "underground" for long periods of time. Low movement speed is another factor to take into account. I love playing this build from a RP perspective as it has tons of flavors to build your story on.
If you're specifically looking for a loot grinder, a pure WIS(34) monk will be fast, have long duration of fiery fist and blazing aura along with improved evasion to avoid traps. The AC will be in the low 50's depending on gear. Your AB will be in the low 40's with 7 attacks per round. Enable empty body and you can solo the pit fiend and the frost king among other bosses. Of course you won't be able to carry multiple full plates, but you can always stash a few somewhere and return to them after you have sold your loot.
Munin Hammerfest Semu Dragehand - Grandmaster monk Xilios Ironfaar - chuckling-Ale-drinking juggernaut Dreo Firewind - Fast pased servant of Ilmater. Nidal Kis - Windchanger
The Cleric/monk/sacred Fist/hierophant, as EM mentioned, is a really strong looter, since its undispellable, Fast, high dmg when needed, and not reliant on much gear.
Bonus is also very good in PvP. Down side is buffing sequence, of course.
Ok, this may sound silly, but my main is a 26 warlock, 4 rogue and can do anything on this server except white dragon. Human, so lots of skills such as 50+ OL and traps, full tumble and UMD. A blaster with great skills for dungeon diving.

Problem I have with pure wis monk is lack of good damage. Yes, you will likely win, but its long and boring. Any way to increase that damage and maintain the advantages of a pure monk, I'm all in. I tried adding 4 dragon slayer and that helps, but still, damage is a bit low for my tastes.

Warlock/bg or warlock/sd. Controller or blaster, respectively.
Dragon druid.
Karond's dwarven defender.
These are the most ridiculously effective PvE builds. Dragon druid is a little bit slow because of lower AB and mediocre melee damage, but with the DCs you can get and awesome AoE spells, you can really get a lot out of all that defense you have by just stacking up mobs and AoEing them down.
The dwarven defender is also sort of slow, but not quite as bad as the druid.
The FS/BG or paladin is probably the quickest.

I'm currently trying Monk 20/Cleric 3/SF 7 and I am stunned by how effective it is. It blows my pure monk out of the water mechanically, and seems more durable and damaging than STR Bard/Rogue.
With STR Bard/Rogue, I died a few times, probably because I did not have a Mirror Image wand handy. But there seems to be no need for wands with Monk 20/Cleric 3/SF 7. Just bring some heal kits along, and heal for almost 140 HP in a round (counting Heal bonuses from epic gear). Meanwhile, the damage output is good, especially with SF flames on.
Is FS/BG or FS/Paladin really able to measure up to this ridiculousness? I suppose I should give it a whirl while I can, right?
Edit: But FS builds have a long buff period, whereas Monk 20/Cleric 3/SF 7 isn't really buff dependent and is pretty much ready to rock and roll anytime. Thoughts?
