I know this is a suggestions thread, but I'd like to add a comment to this.

Yup, epic EXP is reduced. Between 21-30, even in areas that are difficult (read: higher CR), you'll get like 25-30exp, you'll never get 50xp again for killing things unless they're a gold mob. BUT, RP experience is increased! If you notice now, when you RP, you get between 30-50 exp, so in a way it flipped. You're encouraged to RP more now, not just grind grind grind, which I personally enjoy.

I dont have any real comments regarding the cross-realm (UD/Surface) looting, though, just wanted to add the above comment.

sounds like you have a +1 ecl race, because there is the epic xp drop off that happens at 21

it is not level 21 directly, but lvl 21 worth of xp, so ecl races hit it mid level at 20 and 19 when a non ecl race would normally hit 21

been that way forever, it sucks we know :?

would be nice if it went away... but we shall see
everyone is evil till proven otherwise

Yeah, I think he's a tiefling, Azazel. He's ACL (actual character level :P) 20, but ECL 21, so he gets the epic XP reduction.

I did not know about the RP xp increased if I'm honest. I've always taken it as "In RP server you come to RP, which is the reward by itself", but ain't gonna lie that is great to have RP XP. In this case I suggested it because as much as I love the tavern/campfire chit-chat I also have the feel that D&D is also about adventuring dungeons in group with a few people or a considerably big little army but everyone has his viewpoint and none is wrong or right, just different.
Well, technically, only your maximum (and therefore average) RP XP is increased as you level up... the minimum stays the same.

Thing is, it really shouldn’t be called “RP XP,” instead it should be called and understood as Emote XP (or chat xp).

Shouldn’t adventuring be considered role-play? Thus whether killing mobs or discussing the weather, it’s RP.

Yet, many see (appropriately) that grinding mobs is totally an OOC thing, thus…how could that be considered RP, right? But, and conversely, many think emoting/chatting is by default “role-play,” when it’s just as often OOC made and forced—many times what our Characters would do based on Alignment and Background, we don’t “role-play” that because we know OOC it will just cause inter-player drama.

ECL+x means that the Race you play had a +x advantage over non+ECL, and thus some Wise Wizard decided in game mechanics to slow down the progression. That doesn’t seem fair?

Experience points are pretty OOC anyway, if you ask me, and especially in the context of this Server and NWN2.

Imho, playing the game without paying any attention to XP is probably the most rewarding experience. But, to each their own!! 8-)

Since I expect nothing to change when it comes to experience points... It is not about the amount of experience per kill, it is more about the number of kills per hour.

Thus if you wish to continue to level up with relative ease:
  • Unlocking chests gives experience
  • Weekly quests are a source of easy experience
  • And depending on your build, some other areas might actually give you more experience points per hour than Kro's Descent and Labyrinth
  • Partying up helps killing things faster

Unfortunately I cannot unlock chests with my build, which is a very late bloomer that requires lvl 24 to be good (It actually becomes amazingly strong at that level) so I cannot really go to many places by myself and I'm always up for grouping but I rarely find people in the underdark so I end up in farmlands or soubar chit-chatting with people, which is great too, but when they go to adventures I have to be careful because if I last-hit someone no one gets XP and it can be annoying for someone.
You can unlock chests if you spend the money on gear with open lock points on it. I’m not saying you should or need to. Just pointing out that it’s possible if you so choose.

I think you only need like 10 from gear if you’re high dex, at least for 99% of the chests in the game. Does require blowing 2 skill points for cross class but… maybe there’s something that doesn’t quite need the max.
