In an attempt to garner more interest for DMing, we will be returning to an old way of recruiting DMs: Quarterly recruitments. This means, once every three months we will make a call, set a deadline for new applications and then the DM team will vote on the applications that came in. This should serve to do two things: Regularly bring awareness to the possibility of applying to become a DM, and will allow us to train a set of DMs simultaneously, meaning the new DMs will also be able to learn from one another (provided more than one is recruited at each time).
The first application deadline will be Friday 3rd of March. From then on we will stick to quarters making calls around 1st of April, 1st of July, 1st of October, 1st of January and repeat. These call dates are not exact but once we make the call, expect the application deadline to be around 2 weeks later than the call.

DM expectations:
- Time commitment. Incoming DMs should be prepared to spend a reasonable amount of time IG as a DM. There are periodic activity audits where hours spent DMing on the client are quantified. This is a measure that may be used to determine a given DM's activity level, and it may also be used to determine if a DM is active enough to remain on the team. Communication and participation in discussions are also important to us. It is not mandatory or expected for a DM to spend all of their time logged in BG as a DM. We are happy to accept part-timers. Balance and keeping in touch with the player community is important.
- Willingness to learn. Incoming DMs should be prepared to read all the information (including but not limited to guidelines, rules, how-tos, common policy, and procedure) provided by HDMs or admins. Willingness to do this, as well as willingness to receive guidance from senior DMs, ask questions, and undergo training, are part of the role.
- Good conduct. Incoming DMs should be prepared to exercise patience and courtesy with fellow staff members of BG:TSCC but most especially with the player base, even those you may have had negative experiences with as a player. DMs are expected to set an ongoing good example.
