So I have this problem, and I think other people have. Once I log in into the server and spawn on Nexus, a dire cow is spawned as a summon. It was fun at first, but now is more of an issue. Everytime I'm playing a thaumaturge, my cohort is replaced by it. Every time I have a summon with any toon and transiction areas from one server to the other, summons become cows.
I know. Its fun when it happens first. But is very annoying now and I have to memorize more spells to summon again when I can't rest.
I also think that this dire cow thing is breaking my Cohort. When I sleep its been unsummoned.
Can something be done?

its not something that exists because its funny, its - as I understand it - because of server swapping limitations. The solution indeed is to just find a place to rest and reup your buffs/summons.

Re: The Dire Cow issue
A cow is summoned when the game is unable to determine what your original summon is. When transitioning from one server to another, the new server cannot determine what summon you had previously. It knows you have a summon out, but it doesn't know what kind, so it defaults to the error summon.
This is not currently something that can be fixed. It is always advised to rest and refresh spells after changing servers.
