Hello all,
I was hoping to receive input on a shifter build I am thinking of creating and have some questions because I have never tried to combine shifter with warlock.
1. If I have a 13 WIS and take natural spell, can I cast warlock spells in shape?
2. Does hideous blow work in shape - if I have natural spell and can cast it on shape?
3. Is anyone playing a warlock/shifter and has advice?
4. Does combat expertise work in shape?
I ask because I have primarily played shifter/druid types.
Thanks for any input!
TPK.

1. I don't know for sure, but I think that yes, you can. Before you settle on this, I'd probably fire up JEGS to check 100%.
2. I have seen it done, so I'm gonna say 'yes' here.
3. Never played this class, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Shifter doesn't progress spellcasting, nor does it progress eldritch blast. In my opinion, your Hideous Blow is not going to be strong enough to be noticeable and it will cost you quite a bit to invest.
Good luck!

1. Yes! And it's quite fun, too!
2. Yup!
3. I played one, Warlock6/Fighter4/Shifter20. Hideous blow is fun but very underwhelming since you dont have many warlock levels (and literally any amount of SR will stop it), the main thing are getting the buffs. Leaps & Bounds, Miasmic Cloud, Flee the Scene (should prob grab Practiced Caster with this, or, if you dont like having to spam it because of low caster level, Witchwood Step is also cool to have). You can definitely go Warlock 10 instead of Fighter and get 2 more Lesser Invocations, too

Re: Shifter Build Advice
Any advice for a shifter build?
Hewing, Divine Might and Expose Weakness seem to only fuction 50% so they are propably not that good anymore.
I was thinking going for:
1: Toughness
3: Alertness
6: Weapon Focus (Unarmed)
9: Power Attack
12: Cleave
15: Great Cleave
18: Elephants Hide
All points into WIS
Last 5 levels into warrior for Weapon Mastery.

Hi Nachti!
Those feats can lead to a fun time (especially great cleave, so much fun).
Also, Elephant Hide is a great way to shore up the defenses and with I think 9 Wildshapes at 30 for 10/20 druid/shifter), pretty solid.
I know you are going to take fighter so that Weapon Focus is going to be important, but I would take it much much later, because Elephant hide would server you better than +1 ab in my opinion. If you weren't taking Fighter for the Weapon Mastery, I would suggest Unarmed Critical. More bang for the buck for damage. But again, all my opinion.
Taking fighter I think will diminish the fighting capabality in the end. You get +5 bab (and +2 Ab and Damage) vs +3 just by not taking Druid plus a wildshape or two, the ability to "teleport", etc.
Still, either way you go, shifter is a great time. Kinda hard to mess up as it is a full 20 level PrC.
I am working on a Wizard based Shifter and I'll let everyone know how viable that is going to be.
