Day 62

Midian returned today! He was glad to see me again. Though it was awkward when we begin our talking. 18 days withnot any messages. Journal, I do not intend to count days! Then he telled me he thinked about me often. His eyes are the color of the moon. Maybe he caused magik around me and I am not smart enuf to rekongize it? No matter. I do like his touch on my skin. 30 years seem old. Journal, is 7 year more old than me too many years apart? 8 years yes. 7 no. Will our duty allow time for us? Can there be us?

Emrys is living again. Merielle returned him to the material plane. He is seeming to be his same self. I wonder if the curse is continueing about him? He is calling me, "love." My heart and mind are very confused about him living again.

Tamara seem to be healing. She is walking around Candlekeep now. Tho' some person must guide her because her eyes cannot see. Louise and nurse Abigal should be happy about their healing work with Tamara.

Day 86

Yesterday the Avowed traveled into the dark caves under the ruined castle north east of Gullykin. There is lore indicating a falled Netherese city is under the castle. We fited many strange kreatures while traveling down and down into the ground. Journal, I sertainly did not enjoy this part of the journey.

We finded ansient plase under the ruins past fiery lava rivers deep in the ground. The plase is sure to be very old. And very strange.

It also seem the Shadow Plane is konnekting to this plase. I should research this more with the Map.

We finded a large room filled with very old and dirty books. We picked up all we kan karry. I did not find any maps. I mapped the room with the devise so we kan return again. I wonder what sekrets are rited in those books?

Journal, this mission was also very important for me to better understand our play, Karsus' Folly. It was bekause of him trying to take Mystral's magik from her, that the Netherese citys falled from the sky. All that is remaining of them is their broked city far under the ground. It is very sad story.

Journal, yesterday was play day! I was Mystal and Mystra again. Wendel was Karsus. We all performed very well. Our long hours practising showed. Our new patron Sir Batholomew was very proud of our performanse.

Another boring meeting. More talking about capturing a troll for Zullo's research and finding dragon bones for the Guide's research. The ship's crew is not ready. I will kontinue my working here before we sail again.

Day 102 (Tarsahk 1, 1348)

We searched the Vault of the Dead for ansient dragons bones. We fited and defeated many undead monsters. We finded a dragon lich and defeated it in honorable combat. The guide getted his bone samples. I hope we do not return there again any time soon.

We finded some treasures but not any books or maps. We throwed dise for this beautiful hammer and I winned. The Guide sayed it is mine. I am not sure what I will do with it.

I hurt all over myself. Now I will soak in the hot bath and drink this bottle of wine. Sailing is more safe than fiting undead. Tho' I must thank the orakles for the gift of my Moon Blade. It surely saved me more than onse down there in that kursed vault.

The theater Open Stage Night was today. The theme was about Dragons. I singed a funny song I learned in a tavern in Tashalar. The audiense enjoyed my performanse. I winned the contest for the best song. Mia gived me a very pretty ring. But I did not need it and gived it to Herran. He will need it more than me. He was very happy with my gift.

Day 118

I attended a strange meeting with Sir Beoulve, Mia, Herran meeting the Lady Duke Liia Jannath. I am not sure why Sir B. was wanting us to meet the Duke exsept to ... meet her. Duke Jannath was not interested in talking about the theater.

Though other nobles (Lady Mira and Sir Wecher?) shared storys about pirates gathering to the north. And the Hellstorm ship and crew. And dragons. And Lady Adora (or Adala?). I should tell the Guide about these storys. Maybe I will not sail the ship south, but instead sail north?

Us avowed meeted today. Louise talked about some lich mage and her father and true names to free some prisoners. I shared the storys I heared from Lady Mira about pirates, dragons, and Lady Adora (or Adala?) in the north. Emrys shared storys about dopplegangers in the city. Maybe there is some truth in these crazy storys?

Journal, Guide Wendel agreed with my idea to give the hammer artifakt to the Dwarves. I beleve this aktion will help heal the wounds between Candlekeep and the Dwarves.

The Guide also agreed with my idea to sail the ship north. We will search for the truth about the rumors I heared from Lady Mira.

Day 175

I remained at Amarna longer than I planned. This seems to be a theme for me. Actions always continue longer than I was first expecting. I was away for so long and I needed to visit my family. It was worth every hour.

First, journal, you may notice my writing is improved. Scribe Henry teached me better spelling. I am certainly not an expert, but at least I know most of the time when to use a C or S and K or C or ck. Crazy common language! Silent letters continue to cause me trouble. And "irregular" verbs. Sing. Sang. Sung. Seriously?! That is too much to remember!

I will write about my journey soon. But first I want to give the Dwarfs this hammer.

Day 176 (Krythorn 14)

The dwarfs seem to leaved the area. I could not find them. Baulder's Gate is suffering from the pirate blockade. James White is collecting donations to buy food for the poor persons in the city. I gived him the hammer. He seemed to be happy with my donation. I am sure he will trade a better price for it than I am able.

The theater is also quiet. Herran is there. He said Mia is away. Herran and I talked about the theme next open stage night. We decided to use the Summer Solstice, which is 7 days in the future.

Day 178

I should write something about our sailing expedition to the north. We were gone 44 days. There were 15 of us on the ship. Scribe Henry writed the ship's log book. I readed it again today. It is not seeming to be the adventure now in reading it, than living thru it.

Our mission was to collect lore and artifacts from the north, update maps and pursue any stories about pirate or dragon actions along our journey. We did not learn or see anything about dragons. We found far more pirate actions than we expected. And we heared many rumors about undead pirates attacking and destroying ships on the sea.

We finded two ship graveyards and collected 202 artifacts from the sea. We could certainly collect more artifacts, but our deck was full. The scary part is we did not find one body in all of the ship bits. If it was not for some hats, gloves, and papers it would seem there was never any persons on the ships. The ships were breaked into bits by some unknown force. None of the crew ever saw anything similar to it.

One graveyard area was cursed with a Desecration spell. The area feeled completely cursed. Nut's blessing seemed to be hiding from me. I was feeling very alone. Sad. Despair. I will never forget the feeling. I hope to never feel that way again. What evil is able to cause such terrible, evil magic? What evil is able to completely destroy so many ships? And where are crews? I hope the rumors are not true; they are now undead serving some evil necromancer.

I asked many sailors in Neverwinter and Waterdeep if they heared Captain Muck's name but they did not know it. I am not sure if this is fortunate or not. Is he behind this curse on the Sword Coast? If not him, then who? Or what?

Journal, my last topic is honoring my ship and crew. I cannot be more happy with both. I am truly honored to guide our journey by Nut's stars. The oracles at Saqqara and my family are glad for our safe return. The Sea Seeker is sure to be the fastest ship on the Sword Coast. My father and his shipbuilders should be proud of it.

Journal, I leave you again to return to Saqqara to celebrate the Summer Solstice. Hopefully, I will return to your pages sooner than my journey north.

Diary, I returned to you and Candlekeep. The Oracles were very pursuasive.

The Avowed meeted today. We talked about what Julindra and Kestral did. Kestral is fortunate the Guide did not banish him from Candlekeep. They sayed the Dukes are searching for Juli. I hope she is safe.

I suggested I find Wavebreaker Cove to find any clues about what Kalma telled me. We will depart on the ship in two nites. It should be short trip, 10 days at the most.

We returned safe a few hours ago. There weather was very good and we were not chased by any ships. In fact, there were very few ships on the sea. We recovered one artifact that mite be useful. The other Avowed must do their part now to solve this mystery.

Day 274

I returned from my home islands yesterday. Nothing important to report from there. The Avowed meeted also, tho there is nothing important to report for me. There are rumors of more evil lurking about. All the time something...

I visited the Inn today. Julindra was there. She is healthy. I am all the time glad to see and talk with her. The crazy-eye male named Teris gived me a wood owl carving. He carved Julindra a hat similar to her hat. The owl carving is very good; much better than I was able to believe Teris could create. Small surprise to me. Though he is continueing causing me to be nervous near to him.

I hosted a small show at the theater to celebrate the Autumn Equinox. Myself and several persons shared songs about the harvest season. It was a pretty nite under Nut's stars. Unfortunate, the drowt is continuing. This will not be a good harvest season for the Sword Coast this year.

Sorry journal I am ignoring you. There is finally some good news for the Sword Coast. It is raining again! Whatever caused the drowt is ended.

The Avowed meeted today. Hoihe is very rude. Herran is seeing visions of other planes. Mila is concerned about Herran. I am also, tho' there is nothing more I can do for them.

There are storys of orks cirkling around Doran Amar. This cannot be good news for the Sword Coast. I must speak with the orakles about this. I am not here to fite, and maybe die, fiting orks!

Journal, I returned safe to you and Candlekeep. The Sea Seeker and crew are safe docked at Amarna. Over three years ago I sailed east away from my home islands. Seven days ago I returned there on a ship, truly completing the journey the Oracles sended me and 38 other souls on. Tho there are only four of us living now who beginned our original journey I am feeling proud about our mission. I am sure to be blessed by Nut to survive it all.

The other big news is mother and father chosed a husband for me. I will rite more later about this.

Day 344

I put a deck plank from the Sea Seeker into the Library Vault. I hope no one will ever need to use it to find the ship. But it is there now.

The Avowed meeted today. The big news is Guide Wendel leaved his post. He returned to his home town. I did not get to tell him goodbye. I am sad about this. He was a very exsellent guide to me and Candlekeep. I will sure be missing him. I wonder who Ulraunt will choose to be the next Guide?

Midian was at the meeting. He returned from his home village. He is seeming to be healthy tho different. He leaved after the meeting so we did not speak.

I telled the others about my plans to sail west. Journal, I will take you with me to Qarnaq.

About Qurn. He is the first son of Torgh, my father's most trusted ship builder. I knowed Qurn all of my life. Though I did not see him often after I went to Saqqara to learn about Nut's stars and to become a navigator. He was part of the crew when we sailed north up the coast during the undead pirate troubles. Not knowed to me or him, our parents put him on the crew to learn if we were able to "sail together." Very clever of them. I was glad to be seeing him again. We talked about actions I missed around Amarna while I was at Saqqara. I always thinked about him as more brother than potential husband. Qurn is honorable. Handsome. I believe I can learn to love him.

Journal, I am thinking more about becoming a wife. I find I am liking the idea more each day. I believe my mother and father are choosing wise for me. And them. This is because Qurn is from our House. They will not share me with some other house. This caused a big argument about it with the other Houses on Esna island. I was surprised they are believing I am now very important to them. Tho thinking about it more, I am understanding it. Politics. Influense.

I am important to the Orakles. The Orakles are important on the Island Counsil. This is all rediculous. I only want to be happy. Useful. Explore. And have someone to love and share this journey of life with me. And our children.

I reported our progress to soon sail west to Tethtoril at Candlekeep. I also speaked with Midian. It was terrible ... I do not want to rite more about it.

I also helped Herran try to catch the vampire in the threater. Truly a disaster. There is horrible things in the Lord's Allianse building. It should be burned to remove the curse from it. The Flamming Fist put us in the jail for actions we did. Tho' they released me and Herran the next morning. I am glad I am not in Baldurs Gate.

Journal, I rite on your pages the last time as a maiden. I will marry Qurn tonite during the selebration of the Winter Solstise. We are both very excited about this. I believe I am growing into loving him. My mother and father chosed smart for us both. A new year will soon greet us all. What wonders will we find?

Day 3

Qurn and I returned to the ship. We added to the crew since we are sailing near the coast for the next month. There are now 22 of us on board. It seems very crowded now.

The coast is mostly jungle similar to our home islands or Chult. Though we did not find (yet) any giant lizards or other terrible beasts. Inland maybe 5 miles the jungle changes to flat field of tall grass. The tall grass is continueing for miles and miles. No evidense of other people.

Day 12 (Hammer 1, 1349)

It is a new year on this silly calendar of Harptos. One of the scouts finded a tall, old stone structure in the jungle at Site 12. It mite be a pylon. We will investigate it soon.

Day 13

I am sad to be riting about our first crew death. Crewman Mogh, son of Taq was killed by a falling-tree trap. Then we were attacked on trail near the pylon by wild hins. They did not want to talk. Only fite. We gave them a fite and killed all 6 of them. Qurn and Ghan were almost killed by poison arrows. I am not feeling well myself.

We finded the pylon. It is most covered with jungle vines and trees. There is a door at the top but we could not open it. I must report this to the Avowed.

But first I must be with my sick husband and crew. I thinked he was lost. I cryed. But he is breathing.

The Avowed joined me at Site 12. Inside there are snake creatures. They are wanting to drink our blood though we convinsed them to not attack us. They said if we bring then living wild hins they would trade an ansient history book with us. We returned to Candlekeep afterward. I know our duty is to find lore and return it to the Library, but not for trading blood. Oghma would not approve.

Day 50

Sorry journal I am ignoring you. We sailed very far withnot much news to report until now. I reported this to the Avowed also and want to share it here with you.

Alturiak 8, 1349 (Day 50),

The ship and crew are in good condition. I returned this map to record our great progress. I drawed on the map the ruff shape of the land as the Map showed me (gray). The east coast of this land is all jungle (green) for 1300 miles we sailed along the coast. We did not find any other persons near the coast since the wild Hins and snake people near Site 12.

My people desided we will build a Sky Laboratory on the south shore of this land. It is exsellent location to map the south nite sky and complete the star map for the Library. This is a huge honor for myself and the crew on our islands. I hope Candlekeep will recongize what we are doing to expand our knowledge. Oghma is truly blessing us all. Nut's stars continue guilding our journey.

Qurn is angry with me saying I work too much. This is very much responsibility. I do not want to fail.

Day 75 (Ches 7, 1349)

Report from the Sea Seeker:

There was a storm several days past. No persons where injuried but the ship was damaged. We beached it to replace some hull planks.

There are 102 Qarnaqi's here at the Star Laboratory camp. Half are building the laboratory and the others repairing the Sea Seeker and building the new ship. It is having all of its ribs now. We are sleeping in our new houses. I am glad we are not sleeping under tents since it is raining often.

I am measuring the stars of Nut's night sky every nite.

There is nothing unusual finded in the jungle to report. There is a scout team in the mountains to the west of our location. Maybe they will find something more that jungle?

I returned from Candlekeep to the Star Lab area.

I am pregnant. This is why I am so sick. Fortunate for me Abigail's tea is helping me keep some food down.

I am sorry journal I am ignoring you for so long time. My life here at this new land is keeping me busy, but there is nothing exceptional to write about. I did travel to Candlekeep to report my work for them. I will write the same words again since they are all I would rite anyway.

Kythorn 3, 1349 (day 165)

I am knowing it is long time past since I rited a report for Candlekeep. These are our actions since my last report.
- The Sea Seeker is in sailing condition. The crew sailed out south and west on several 10-day missions. There is nothing unusual to report from these short trips. I need to draw a better map than what I have of their journeys.
- The two new ships are almost complete. They should be launched around Day 200.
- The sky laboratory is complete. I returned with this message my first complete map of the south nite sky. It is showing all stars brite enough to easily see on nite of full moon. Please place the map in the Astronomy Room in the Library.
- There are 102 Qarnaqi here on this distant land. The Oracles want me to remain here for at least half year, probably longer, since I am pregnant.
- About that, I am feeling very healthy now. I am not sick any more. I am gaining weight and my clothes are becoming tite. The Oracles believe the baby should arrive around Day 300. Qurn and I are both very happy about this.

I miss you all at Candlekeep. Oghma bless us with new knowledge. Nut's stars guide us.

I am sorry I am ignoring you, my journal, for so long time. The most important news is in this message I will send to Candlekeep.

Avowed of Candlekeep,

I am happy to report on Marpenoth 15, 1349 DR, I birthed a healthy boy. I am recovering quickly and adapting to my new role as mother with the help of my husband Qurn.

Also know the Qarnaqi people are continueing the work of Candlekeep and honor of Oghma. Three ships, one the Sea Seeker, set sail 30 days ago to complete the mapping of Toril's coasts and seas, which we began almost a year ago. Nut's stars shall guide them on their journey.

We named him re-HoraQti to honor the sun setting on the horizon, when he was born. Not long after, the full moon rised above the sea. The oracles are very pleased with our baby. They are believeing Nut's blessing are strong with him; maybe stronger than in me.

The ship's crew is having the artifakt to use for mapping Toril. They will return to our Star Lab often with their reports to me. My other time will be with our new son. I am so glad I am a mother.

Journal, I bringed you from my father's house to be with me again. I am sorry I did not read or rite in your pages for a year now. re-HoraQti is one year living now. He is walking everyplase. Qurn and I are very proud of him.

I am riting this sitting on the Sea Seeker's dek sailing west again. I teached Qurn and others to use the artifakt. I stayed behind at my Star lab when they was sailing west before now. Today I join them to komplete this next part of our journey. I am glad to be navigating again. I can see the Rotarin Chu' and Voqbej to the port and starbord from us. We are on the other side of Toril from Qarnaq islands on our journey to sirkle this world. Kara-Tur is forward from us. Nut and Oghma will be proud of our progress for both our people and the Avowed of Candlekeep.

Hammer 15, 1351 DR (Day 26, 952 on Qarnaq)

Journal. I embarass me for not riting on your pages sinse yesteryear. We traveled so very far. Though the truth about it is the new lands are all very similar. Jungle or forest or beach or nearby mountains so there is not much to rite about them. It was all mostly the same until we arrived at Kara-Tur on Day 337.

That journey was withnot loss tho'. The ship voqbej runned into reef on falling tide. No crew died but the ship was losted. We salvaged most of the food and things from it.

We learned the persons of Kara-Tur are knowing about the land to their east we leaved on day 320. They name it Osse. They say only druids are living on that land. We see-ed not any persons but we finded evidense that persons was at plases, by their shrines, along the Osse coast. They knowed nothing about the lands more far east that we finded during our journey west.

We hired a lokal navigator to assist our kontinuing journey west. We resumed sailing 15 yesterdays past with the Sea Seeker and Rotarin Chu' south along the coast. We are sailing slow for now, about 100 miles per day, to better explore this new land and its persons. He will leave us next moon when we arrive at the "dragon teeth" part of the Zakhara peninsula. We will be far south again in the summer season. I am sure Candlekeep is in the middle of the winter cold of the north. I am not missing that.

Kara-Tur is so different than the Sword Coast; "more civilized", Reader Mark sayed. I buyed some paintings. One is of a ship. The desine is using sails similar to Qarnaqi lagoon ships. It is very interesting idea to me how two separate kultures kreated similar ideas. The ships are kommon along the coast. They are painted brite colors. I also buyed painting of persons on horses, map, plate and bowl for the Library.

We mite return the Sea Seeker to the Sword Coast by the north fall season. Tho we kould be gone longer if we stop and explore often. That is the reason for this journey, to explore and return what we find and learn to the Library.
