From my experience, most Characters that the majority of my Character(s) meets in the Lvl 1–14 journey, are deleted/RCR'd/abandoned.
True, however, those are the characters that usually can be called companions. Past level 21 making connections is insanely difficult. And there are no companions.
My last main (whom I managed to resume playing after at least a year long pause and managed to lead to a satisfying conclusion by some miracle) character had pretty much one companion at the time of retirement. Also, it was really amusing to see people involved (unknowingly) into the same plot to stonewall character and refuse cooperation. But whatever. I rolled with it, the conclusion was good, and there's pretty much ONE person on the whole server that know it. It was fun, though.

because then, you REALLY need to love that Toon, in order to slog your way to Lvl 30
And once you reach level 30, it'll be the time to look at the final feat you've got, and wonder "what the hell am I doing with my life". Or "this totally wasn't worth it".

But that said, and though his "mission" is to grow Kraak Helzak, I also don't "hide behind guild walls," in the least.
That's all good, but ... I'll have to see it happen.

But I also appreciate how good we have it now, with the balance of up-to-lvl 10 100% RCR, and afterwards, some "tax" to recycling your XP into another random idea...
I'm not seeing any balance. The progression situation has improved, but bgtscc still requires insane amount of time to have a tiny
chance of anything ever happening.

And again!
I'm not seeing a problem here. Better to allow someone roll concept they enjoy, rather than making them play failed concept due to sunk cost fallacy.
My concern is mainly time investment to fun ratio. Most people here are adults and even asking for 2 hours/day is a very tall order. And with 2 hours/day starting from level 1 you won't get anywhere. 2 hours usually is enough time to roam few areas, fail to meet anyone, loot couple of chests and log off. Yay, "RP experience".

I'll admit at this point that's all I would need. My two level 30s (one just dinged a couple weeks ago) have perfect builds -sans- I would swap kukri focus for dagger focus since I got kukri off an item. But to get there I took full advantage of the prior 100% rcr.
Except this one probably can't be done at all. it is in essence bic file editor.
