Let me stop you right here. The poster was being cynical (not to be confused with being sarcastic) and was basically calling your explanation as well as the whole nerf loot thing disingenuous because by your own words it seems clique politics are at play as it seems to be oblivious or apathetic towards who is affected by this outside the pre-existing and aging population. Your attempt to explain the reason only makes it worst.

He was also saying that the reward system for doing high level content was low and had few incentives. Something I SORTA brought in another topic here.

How in my own words was the loot change clique related?

I gave up on it being read at all, since it seems to be met with dismissiveness and cherry picking the parts he feels are justified by "but not everyone felt that way" and on and on. Still can't figure out what 'player base' he's talking about, other than it doesn't include you and me....and a few others that aren't part of 'the group that gets the favors'.

Easier to just say 'cool story bro' and realise he's not in a place to get it. He already has the answer loaded in the barrel and ready to shoot before the question is finished being asked (even if its not the question actually asked, but in response to the one he will ask on your behalf).

Oh, and dad put his foot down that it's here to stay and that's final so if you don't like it you can go your room because as long as you're living under my roof you're living under my rules.

So you know, it's like being told 'go play with your friends' or something.

He did the same thing to me too. Like his whole post was one big strawman.

Daleland was literally the same way before the depopulation. A lot of insults, dismissive behavior, and antisocial atmosphere. The cliques are here and fact many old timer players are not social speaks volumes. Even when i go out of my way to speak them, you get edgelord vibes from them and at one point a smart arse for inquiring on a situation from one of the good player types.

I notice players were turning off their locations entirely. So yeah itbgas become the clique coast.

Locking this. I will unlock it later if someone asks, but only if we can leave arguments to concepts and not personalities.

Don't make another thread on this topic today.

Thanks.

What is the question? I use this feat all the time.

It triggers every time I cast an evocation spell, up to the level at which you take it: 1-3 for standard evocation focus, 4-6 for greater. I haven't used my Epic one yet but I need to go kill stuff instead of selling things in the farmlands, fishing or doing RP.

EDIT: If you have a level 3 spell as a level 5 maximized, it casts the follow-up as a normal version of the spell as far as I can tell.

Thanks, Xorena.

I think the question stems from the BG Wiki description, which reads as follows:
You have learned to harness the residual energies of evocation spells. Anytime you cast a hostile evocation spell there's a chance you can reignite its energies to cast it once more, with a -2 penalty to the DC.
That description makes it sound like there's a XX% chance that the Reignite feat will work. But you're saying Reignite triggers every time, so perhaps not on a proc % after all. Maybe the description needs to be revised.

From my understanding Reignite works as long as you trigger the feat it gives you within 8-12 seconds, basically doubling your spells. If you wait to long no spell will reignite

It has been my experience that every time it procs, but you have to use the harnessed energy within a few rounds of the first cast. The window is not all that long before it dissipates.

I haven't paid attention to the DCs though, so I'll see about both the next time I go blow things up on my Red Wizard.

There are significant downsides to the second cast. For a fireball, for instance, you can click the spell, then decide where to place the blast radius (the target on the ground), then click to cast the spell. For the reignition you MUST target something. You cannot do a ground-targeted area of effect. There are not many spells that have no saving throw. For wall of fire, you can only have one of those down at a time and by the time it expires the reignition has faded.

All of that said, the wiki is definitely not the most reliable documentation. There are many things that differ from the 2da, for instance, that players need to edit (which for me personally has led to more than one RCR). Anyone can sign up to edit the wiki.
