Elements of House Marshall make their own plans concerning the impending battle for the fate of River's End. A trio make a subtle visit to River's End, bearing no heraldry, house colors, or other distinguishing marks that would otherwise imply their allegiance to outside forces. Together then, using prior knowledge of the tunnel network located beneath the city, with a known entrance being by the glowing tree, they work with the local security and nALF forces to start trying to scout out and map the tunnels directly beneath the city.
Fearing an imminent attack by underground forces, Alexander Marshall, Vanira Dunn, and Michael Dunn approach the tunnel network located by the great glowing tree of River's End. Therein, they attempt to discern just how vast the network of tunnels is, and its complexity.
Attempts would then be made to either close off the tunnels via feats of engineering and smokepowder, or, failing that, on how to better shore up defenses beneath the township by preparing traps and improvised hazards for any attacking force.
DM Mimic Note: The success of this effort will be determined in game!

Nose in the books, and magic at the table

She studies with a vigor, hoping to gain a sizable advantage towards the magical efforts in the conflict for the Mystran church. Be they spells, charms or gems, or trinkets one could carry in a way to better ones individual defences against conversion to the Black Sun, or again further the depth of her learning to deconvert the afflicted people.
Priorly she was unable to teach the efforts to others, because of the complexities. Mayhap this time, she hoped the chances for a better solution.

Re: Battle at River's End
A curious pair return for a day or two at River's End, gathering up who they could of those that refuse to leave their homes, yet have no skill or inclination for a fight. They offer first aid classes at the Triage area the Sunite Hospitalier has set up.
Naer'eanque offers classes on splinting sprained and broken limbs, placing them back into positions of comfort, or the ability to walk on a broken ankle with appropreate bindings, the use of herbs and poltices on wounds to stem bleeding. While Alyssia offers how to wrap and bandage wounds, how to spot a severe bleed in a cut and pack it with bandages while applying a tournaquet tight enough that the pulsing blood stops. Together they also demonstrate how to make stretchers and place the wounded on it, two poles, cloth stretched between, long enough that a person can lay on it and have enough for two handles, both carriers face the same direction, the person at the head calls when to lift and move together.
They both warn the task will be bloody, and heavy, and not many might be able to perform the task at hand. Simply to do your best, and seek out healers in the field should they feel out of depth or can no longer act under the pressures of seeing loved ones hurt, injured, and potentially dying.

Re: Battle at River's End
Posting this at 11pm PST, so still the 19th!
With so much happening in the city and its immediate surroundings, Runa's actions may seem muted and small, but the small causes are exactly what concern her.
While the city and its people find support from so many adventurers and organizations, the Eldathyn druid first looks to the natural world around it. Through the use of her druidic abilities, she may Speak with Plants and Animals to warn them of the impending conflict and offer aid as well as refuge.
Through druidic divination such as Weather Eye, the eldathyn would spread word of what the weather will look like in the coming days up until the conflict, so that people may prepare accordingly.
In the town proper, she would offer prayers of peace to any that wished it. She'd aid in shedding away fear from those that seem concerned, especially women and children. Maybe more tangibly, she'd help folks stock potable water.
Beyond the above, Runa offers aid to the Triage Area set up by the Sunite. In order to not overlap knowledge with Naer's and Alyssia's teachings, the druid instead focuses in teaching prevention and survival: how to find safe food in the wild, what to do if you encounter a wild animal, how to recognise and/or establish a safe camp, how to build a fire for warmth and safety (and remembering to always make sure you put it out), how to find clean water, as well as how to keep oneself and others emotionally resilient and stable.

Re: Battle at River's End
I am still working through everything I have to respond to, but I wanted to post and officially declare that due to how the narrative is playing out, no more preparations can be made after this point. Also, I want to remind everyone that NPC forces committed to this battle will have a chance of being slain and therefore lost. If you were not aware of this and want to make adjustments, you have until the end of the day on Friday, June 26, to let me know.
Thank you for your interest in this plot! Looking forward to seeing how the battle will unfold on July 5, 2026 at 1700 GMT!
