With the war in the north coming to a close, the small contingent of Bladestone troops that have been helping escort refugees hopefully sees less and less action.

Still assigned under the lead of the half-orc Vrok Drek, the troops remain for a time to make sure any stragglers are kept safe as able, and anyone wanting to return to their homes have an escort.

As the first rays of the morning sun wash over the hills and bathe the courtyard camp in an amber light, the Hellriders of Elturel are already bustling about. The sounds of horses clopping about begin to fill the air as men gather and set off on patrols. The laborers rally at the castle and begin another day of setting stone on the quickly rising structure. High in a tower perch, stood a young knight. A smile apparent as he looked out over Triel.

Lady Vanders had knighted Alexander under the banner of Elturel. Made him warden of Triel, responsible for it's growth and prosperity. The fledgling House of Marshall had work to do. Logistics to arrange, hands to shake and contracts to sign. Paid for in gold, sweat and determination. It would be a hard road paved, but rewarding in the journey and outcome. The baroness of Trielta, Lady Vanders, had placed a heavy burden on the shoulders of House Marshall...

A burden that would be shouldered without complaint.

East of Baldur's Gate and along the Chionthar, the smell of roasted meats wafts through the air and the sound of merriment floats on the cold winter breeze. Notes are posted along the way telling any who may be interested and are in good standing with the Green Enclave that they are welcome to attend a feast in honor of the Forest Queen on the day of this beautiful winter solstice.

The following announcement is distributed throughout the Heartlands nearby regions.
Let it be known that the city-state of Baldur's Gate has refused to offer recompense for its violations of the Baldur's Gate-Darkhold Open Relations and Trade Treaty and the Baldur's Gate-Darkhold Famine Relief Treaty. Darkhold affirms its condemnation of the lack of honor demonstrated by the Council of Four of Baldur's Gate, and warns nations and companies against seeking commerce with Baldur's Gate.

Forthwith, all representatives of Baldur's Gate are now persona non grata within the territories of Darkhold. All trading companies and missions based out of Baldur's Gate are now forbidden from commerce with Darkhold missions or within Darkhold territory. No Baldur's Gate-based trading company or mission may enter the territory of Darkhold, and the Yellow Snake Pass through the Sunset Mountains is now closed to traffic originating from Baldur's Gate. Furthermore, Darkhold withdraws any offers of protection for traffic originating from Baldur's Gate moving over the High Road through the Tunland, and will not support any such group coming under attack by bandits and tribes operating in the region.

Not long after the dragon flew over the area, the corpses of several flinds and ogrillons could be found in the vicinity, expertly slain with small, narrow-pointed weapons inflicting a mixture of electrical burns and energy drains. Enchanted daggers of some sort, perhaps?

Their attacker's footprints did not linger long in the snow, but the locations of the bodies suggest that they may have come from the direction of Nashkel.

6th Althuriak, Bas's Gate - A challenge and Tornament of two knights could be witnessed in the arena (DM Ink)

7th Alturiak, Western Heartlands - House of Cards report a useful winter season investing around the expanding docks of Baldur gate. Elsewhere fashion has gained traction in the form of a new market around Neverwinter. The traders hope to gain from locally sourced snow tiger skins and the expanding demand from Neverwinters fashion market for snow tiger skins and fully made garments from this currently fashionable material. (DM Spartacus)

7th Alturiak, Western Heartlands- Further south trade near Beregost fell foul of a vampire attack along the trade routes. Local militias made sweeps to drive away this latest threat to trade. (DM Spartacus)

7th Alturiak Western Heartlands - Triel produced a raft of tax laws favouring local development and contractors building on long established support of this region by charity and adventurers over the years. Local traders expect that this will provide a state revenue that will be ploughed back into the communities in a manner likely to support law abiding organisations across the region. (DM Spartacus)

7th Alturiak, Roaringshore - Rumours of work to be had at Roaringshore surfaced. Perhaps pay was raised in the aftermath of recent troubles there but for whatever reason word that gems were sought for top prices, and rare original books of the Ramsi series and the Younger series were mentioned. Information it seems was at a premium too with mouth-watering fees offered for information about the location of Gifts of the Gods relics, and the lair known as Yondalla's coastal hideout. Even the docks were busy and one trader there was offering top prices for green sunfish, small octopus, sturgeon, Marlin, fleshwort and stoneroot with a bonus for a complete collection. (DM Spartacus)

7th Alturiak, Gullykin – A White Dragon passed over Gullykin (DM lead)

10th Althuriak, Roaringshore - Roaringshore has recently seen an influx of people. Every now and then a new group- each a mix of humans, halflings and half-orcs- arrives, looking for a shelter and a place to work at.

All of them appear to be people that, for one reason or another, had nowhere else to go. (DM Soulcatcher)

13th Alturiak, Friendly Arm Inn - Two fallen travellers were laid to rest by the staff of the Friendly Arms. Attention to the pair had been drawn by passing woodlanders, wizards and other assorted adventuring groups. These events inspired some exploration of the forest by variously motivated groups. Changes to the forest were noted and dangerous paths explored. Nothing was learned of the fallen duo and their fate lies in the hands of another. (DM Spartracus)

18th Alturiak, Baldur's Gate – Another Open Stage Night n the White Mask Theatre, with songs of love and beauty, and a proposal for marriage. In the contest, the Bardesses Rose Wintertale and Lylan'Synor shared the first place. Second was the well known wizard Sirion! (Player led)

19th Alturiak, Friendly Arm Inn - Strange things started to happen around Friendly Arm Inn. Storm clouds filled the sky and time started to slow. Word got around quickly about an arctic troll making an appearance outside the Friendly Arm Inn. He claimed to be a messenger on behalf of Agnosh, master of storms. People are to prepare for hardship. A woman in white tried to pry the troll for more information about this Agnosh, but the troll remained steadfast in the delivery of his message. Suddenly the troll charged the woman in white and started to attack. The woman, and other adventurers surrounding her immediately sprung into action, casting spells and throwing fire and acid at the creature. Within seconds, the troll turned into slush. The immediate threat was gone, but the threat of oncoming hardships lingered in the air, possibly a warning of what was to come. (DM Cleric)

19th and 20th Althuriak - Several sightings of the so called Lady of Roses were reported, in questionable actions. She often appears with a Lantern or was seen taking the form of other beings, also luring people out of safe places and into the Cloak wood. Many individuals and organizations are involved. Also worries, that the peace between nature folks and City population may be endangered.
(DM Ink, Part I) (Part II) (Part III)

20th Alturiak, Warrior's Rest – A brawl Room Blitz event was held by the Bladestone Foundation. The first place went to Callo. The second was taken by Adrian Baker. Third was the towering half-orc Grobb. (Player led)

Fliers are distributed across the Western Heartlands by courier to settlements and cities alike, all bearing the same call to action and red-wax seal.
DEFEND THE SUNSET VALE
Image
FREEDOM DIES WITH INACTION

The treaty of peace between the Lords' Alliance and the Zhentarim has created a new sovereign nation to act as a neutral zone encompassing the lands of Corm Orp and the city of Hills Edge. But while this land is free, it remains undefended save from action by those who birthed it. And so I, Kamine Waynn, call on those of honorable heart and good conscience to come to this fledgling nation and stand by my side to usher it into a new age of prosperity and strength.

There will no doubt be struggle and there will be strife as we work to unify this newly liberated land into a true nation of laws and prosperity for its people.

The self-proclaimed Keeper of the Northern Wilds, only recently resurfacing, happens upon a discarded flyer. Peering at it with his one good eye, the druid known as Ran'll nods thoughtfully while reading. He mutters softly, mostly to himself about an impending crossroads. As he slips the flyer into his satchel his joints begin to pop and crackle, his bipedal form being replaced with something more efficient for covering distance at speed, and he lopes back into the wilds, but to make them more hospitable to such a change, or less so, remains to be seen...

DEFEND THE SUNSET VALE

Kervel comes by one of the fliers and reads it through in ponder. He puts the flier in his pocket. Later on a sealed letter is addressed and sent to one Kamine Waynn.

Rumor has it that a priestly man of foreign origin has been traveling progressively westward, by foot, meandering near and not-so-near the Chionthar as it also winds its way west toward the city of Baldur's Gate and eventual deposit of flow into the Sea of Swords.

By some, he is referred to as a "magefriend," by others, a philosophical fool "...spelldrunk on magic from mysterious lands...."

Regardless to true or false interpretations, none deny that this wanderer carries himself along with some close-held purpose.
