When mists came upon Hope's Landing, Ryke Lighthouse offered his prayers to Valkur, asking his divine fella to protect the passing ships and to disperse the mists. It be rumored that an umberlant cleric tried to commit a prayer to Umberlee at the same time, but she was driven away by the disapproving gathering ...

The mists south of Candlekeep seem to have attracted new dangers. Wildlife is found ripped apart, some partially eaten, others just...discarded.
There are hints of something large and menacing making its home in the mists.

Image

After hours of hunting, the creature can be seen dragging the carcasses of numerous badgers back to a cave just off the sea. Haphazardly woven into its fur are some sort of flower, seen growing throughout the mist.

A Sun Elf some will recognize as Lylan'Synor, would stay on the beach for close to 3 days and nights, following a meeting she and others had with the fabled Mist Dragon.

On the First day, suffused with a Light Spell making her shine with a bright white light the Elf stood vigil at the edge of Hope's Landing. Among the mists and the storms, she called over and over again for the Dragon to arrive. Curious onlookers were notified that she stood for the ships that needed the lighthouse from crashing along the jagged rocks separating the sea from the coastline. Its light is swallowed by the strange dense mists that persist in the area.
The Elf called towards the waves and dived to call under them- for a full day and night. Until her voice was gone.
Unable to speak, she persisted in dancing. Graceful ballet communicates the storms around her for hours, a vision surrounded by light and mists.
Persisting until she collapsed, and taken to the Warrior's Rest.
Image

On the second day, she lined the coast with dozens of orbs of bright white light, spelling out the words "This Way". For the chance that ships might spot so much magical light.
Image
It was dawning when it seemed like someone saw it. A small cadre of pirates in rowboats sped to the coast in their flight from pursuers in the Mists.
With the help of a brave woman named Camila who snuck past and warned their friends to arrive, Lylan and the heroes arriving at the scene, held the coastline against a Devilish wave of enemies.
Image
After the battle was over, and won survivors secured, fallen buried and the coast was clear, the sun Elf and the rest of the Bladestone Foundation and their allies went back to the Warrior's Rest for free drinks courtesy of Headmaster Derik.

At night, and following to the Third day; Lylan will return and instead, light those dozens of light spells into a ten-foot square by the Lighthouse, watchful and hopeful, that so much concentrated light can be seen through the mists, to help guide the ships through the dangerous rocky and stormy seas.

Word begins to spread through the leaves and plants, and then passed along by word of mouth. The Green Enclave will be holding their feast of the Winter Solstice in less than two moons. No one yet knows the location, and the time seems uncertain as well. But one thing for sure, it's going to happen.

((The Green Enclave will be hosting a Winter Solstice feast near the RL Winter Solstice. The date is tentatively set for 23 December, 2023; but we realize that might not work out for many people. We are gathering ideas for what might be a better time to host it. Also, the place it will be held is not yet decided. We wanted to get word out asap so that people were aware of it.))

Another volume of series of Cyricist pamphlets called "The Dysangelion" started to appear here and there in the West
The Dysangelion

Volume III

The Dark Destiny

From mortal man, a divine was made. But not a mere god like ones that preceded him. No, for He is so much more. Already four crowns lay in his possession, two of them claimed by His own blade, other two by His Dark Will. Will that enabled him to claim the essence of the slain. But it is merely the beginning. Our New Lord of Murder will not stop there. His heart and hand is craving for next kill, lying in wait for the next victim. And He shall not falter. Which deity will be next to fall by his hand? It is yet not revealed. But the bodies of fallen gods will pile up under his feet, until only He remains, the One and Only, Dark Sun bathing all of the land and sea with His unholy radiance. It is inevitable. It has been written aeons ago to be fulfilled when the time will come, and the time comes now. This is the One True Way.

The Black Dawn is Nigh

Mortals die. Gods die. The world is a place of constant change, fueled by the unquenchable flames of Chaos. And the very pace of the change is chaotic, as well. There are decades when nothing happens. And then, there are weeks when decades do happen. We live in times when the latter is closer to the truth. Whether that is a blessing or a curse depends only on one thing – on one’s ability and will to clench the opportunity and ride the dark winds of strife in struggle for power. In these times of upheaval, the chaff will be separated from the grain. The deserving elevated above the unworthy. New Masters will rise on the bent backs of the human cattle who in turn will be thrown into slavery most wretched. The shadows will grow darker and unspeakable horrors will transpire heralding the coming of the One. The Black Sun is dawning. Looming above the horizon, already bathing the world in His black radiance. Yet it is still not quite what it will become, for the power of the Dark Prince will only grow, and woe to the world when He reaches his Zenith. Power once dispersed among myriad squabbling deities, now united unto One dark Will. Serving One purpose. One vision. A vision of darkness, a vision power, a vision of death to all that is unworthy of life. We live in an autumn of times. Dying breaths of the old world, already stricken by putrefaction. Prepare yourself for its death. Prepare yourself for the birth of the new. For in the new world, there will be nothing but woe for those who chose to stand on the wrong side of history. Nothing but woe to the conquered. This is the One True Way.

The Grand Declaration of War

What can we, the chosen few, the pupils of great darkness, the students of the Threefold Path, feel towards the old world that is passing? Nothing but contempt and loathing. Its gods are weak. Its people even worse. While we have discovered the way, millions are crawling with no purpose. Their faces blank, their eyes blinded by attachments, pity, remorse – all the despicable illnesses that the powers of good bestow upon a soul, rendering it pathetic and wretched. Faceless masses filled like gravestones, the old world is a tomb. On that we can declare nothing short of war. A total war. Not just in a military sense – indeed perhaps this aspect should be invoked only in the absolute necessity for it empowers some of the false divines – but on all fronts. Spiritual, cultural, economic. All values must be crushed. All bonds broken. All must be subjected only to pure, unadulterated Will of a ruthless hand, bent of crushing all before it. Those who hasten the hour of Black Sun’s zenith will be greatly rewarded when it inevitably comes. This is the One True Way.

His Kingdom Come

Whilst inevitable, in the grand scheme of things, Black Sun’s ascendancy should suffer no needless delay. This is our role, as his vanguard upon the face of Toril – to expedite coming of His Kingdom, fuel His dark heart with our worship, sacrifices and acts furthering His agendas. For those who will answer the call early, great will be the spoils when the New Aeon will come in full force. Those shall inherit the land and those will upon death become one with the Dark Sun. Those, however who will not heed the call of the Black Dawn before the dice are cast, will be struck down, and either perish or be bound in eternity of wretched slavery. Those yet, who will heed the call but fail the One, whether through heresy and false doctrines, or through common incompetence, will be punished, their souls consumed by the Unholy Flames. For the Black Sun rewards those who serve Him well, yet has little patience for failure. This is the One True Way.

The Thirteen Black Candles

I. The Dark Prince is the lord of Strife. Strive towards his glory and your place in his incoming kingdom.
II. The Dark Prince is the lord of Murder and Death. Deal death to all of his enemies.
III. The Dark Prince is the lord of Hatred. Spread Hatred and turn brothers into bitter foes.
IV. The Dark Prince is the lord of Fear. Make others tremble in dread before his name.
V. The Dark Prince is lord of the Dead. Fuel his kingdom with new penitents.
VI. The Dark Prince is lord of Tyranny. Suffer no dissent to his name.
VII. The Dark Prince is the lord of Intrigue, Deception and Lies. Let deceit be both your shield and the blade.
VIII. The Dark Prince is the lord of Illusion. Let his enemies be failed by their senses.
IX. The Dark Prince is the lord of Corruption. Let no heart be safe from turning black.
X. The Dark Prince is lord of Ritual Death. Let his altars never be dry.
XI. The Dark Prince is the lord of Old Age and Exhaustion. Let those stuck in the old ways know their bitter taste.
XII. The Dark Prince is the lord of Decay, Wasting and Parasites. Let the old world wither in advent of his coming.
XIII. The Dark Prince is the lord of Autumn and Dusk. Let it be mark for old world’s imminent end.

A young woman sits on the beach south of the Lion's Way. A small campfire keeps her warm in the Uktar chills through day and night. Though she keeps her distance from the harbour of the Bladestone Foundation, she offers a kind smile and patience beyond her age to any who might approach her, and welcomes anyone to join her by the fire.

Those who do approach her will quickly see her skin is covered in delicate light bronze scales, glinting as if truly polished metal reflecting the sunlight, moonlight or indeed the flames of the campfire. Rarely, a tiny arc of electricity can be seen sparking randomly across some of her scales. Also her emerald green eyes shine in the dark, as those of a nocturnal creature adapted to see in the dimness of night, but these eyes are full of emotion and warmth to those who arrive in a friendly manner.

There she waits, patiently, as she observes the sea rise and fall with the tide. Waits, indeed, for the ocean mist.

Transgressions Against the Wrong Pirate

"I've always been fascinated,
with what motivates people's transgressions,
and the scandalous journey into infamy."

Messages sometimes need to be sent, diplomacy is often the first approach. But sometimes, sometimes you just have to bloody your blade. Many people have an interest in something. Sometimes, that interest is worth killing for. And killing, well to some people its as normal as taking a morning bath.

Pirates are pirates. Thieves of the Sea. They are merely out there trying to survive in life like any other man or woman. They are no nobles, nor had the luxury of growing up in wealthy educated families. And at the end of the day, they still need to eat. Sometimes in certain places a pirate has a chance to become more. A leadership figure. Able to pass decisions that can care for their people. Such pirates are respected. Respected for their belief's if one knows of it. Or Respectful by their brutality in upholding their belief's.

Image

So when word reaches ears of such a pirate that was under attack, people dont know if such a pirate is an interest to people. And to anyone that has an interest threated, well they can become very angry.

Image

Velen was a port city on the Tethyrian peninsula overlooking the Sea of Swords. The coastal city served as the capital of duchy of Cape Velen. And in such a place, there was someone that had some answering to do. Someone that attacked the wrong man, someone that attacked the wrong ship. He was a pirate with his own cause and means. But thought to bring harm to someone of interest to me. A transgression on my interest is a transgression to me. And I never tolerate such a thing.

I've considered myself a changed man with a past life one could debate if it was a proud one or not. I've done things unsavory much like any other man. But like many things in life, old habits are not easy to separate yourself with.

Some times...

Image

people need to learn the hardway...

Image

After all, you never know what kind of life a person had in the past. A person might just be willing to go through days of sea voyages on the Sea of Swords, listen to dock workers, sulk around a whole town, kill a dog, kill a whole crew, evade authorities, just to kill you. For the simple fact...

Image
You attacked the wrong pirate.

Flyers began to appear pinned to noticeboards in various areas of the Sword Coast, including Nashkel, Friendly Arms Inn, and seedier districts of Baldur's Gate:

Image

Cutthorats, thugs, scoundrels and others whom the so called "polite society" considers "unsavoury", of all persuasions and walks of life!

Seeking a place where your predisposition can flourish, and indeed, allow you to carve a place for yourself? The settlement of Soubar can offer you one.

We are the Crimson Watch. We are the force that wards all kinds of business from moralist interferences. Join us, and make a name for yourself.

We are offering modest pay, lodging and meals, but first and foremost - an opportunity. Opportunity to rise and gain power and influence over the trade passing through northeastern reaches of the Fields of the Dead.

Come, and realize your potential.

Trying to Heal a Dryad

by JustAnotherGuy
Upon hearing of the dryad in the Vindicator's care, Emmanuel heads to the Tranquil Pools of Eldath. There, he meets with the dryad guardians of the sacred place, and with their help tries to attempt something he has not before. Knowing that there is only a limited time before a dryad will die without being close to their tree, he moves with an urgency.

He performs a ritual over an acorn, attempting to be able to use it to become the wounded dryad's acorn, giving her enough strength strength to be able to return to her tree. A long night ensues of prayer and ritual. Once it is complete, Emmanuel waits to find out if the ritual worked, so that he can head to the wounded dryad.

((PM sent to the DMs to find out if this worked.))

A strong patrol was launched from Greenest headed by some local heroes some recently returned from Amn and thrown directly into an effort to respond to reports of Lloth cultists and spiders deep underground. They put paid to the gathering of spiders before they could gain a foothold on the Uldoon trail where farming and the trade route were both under threat.

It is rumoured some rare lore was found after trawling the cultist library.
