A poster is hung out in each public place by an elf with Nightblue Hair. She also wears blue clothes. But the event seems to have a very redish theme this time.

but a mage rune familiar to some as that of the Elven wizard Sirion Te'dwa.

Mages of the Sword Coast

I am once again asking you to join me for an evening of mageduels, this time in Warrior's Rest on the Way of the Lion.

Expect a tournament with some kind of reward for the winner. Registering in advance is not required but since pairings will be made before the tournament begins, please be there in good time!

Be there in the evening, 22nd of Flamerule.
Rules and information follow below.

Mageduel rules:

1) Attack only with spells, including weapons conjured in the duel and magical shapechange.
2) You may hold a magic weapon not conjured for its effects, but not attack with it.
3) You may make use of scrolls, wands and other magic items so long as they do not attack directly. For example, a scroll to conjure a weapon or creature.
4) When you would normally have died, you are out of the duel.
5) When you leave the circle, you are out of the duel. The last to remain inside the circle has won.
6) The duel also ends when both parties declare it to be a draw.

Rules to abide by in Warrior's Rest:

1) Do not cause damage to the establishment in any way.
2) Do not harass or scare the staff and patrons of the inn.
3) No undead and no outsiders.
4) We have been told it would be appreciated if we abstained from casting "evil energy spells" and given the example of Abyssal might, that conjures energy from the Abyss.

The infirmary and its healers are available to us, and the arena has been paid for for three hours. If anybody chooses to stay longer than that, feel free to tell them it was my fault - Sirion

Beginning the duel:

I) Agree on a number of up to 3 wards.
II) After a count, cast your wards or wait as long as it takes you to cast them.
III) Then enter the arena and attack.

Quickening one's wards is allowed but considered by many to be against the spirit of the mageduel.

(( OOC note on AoE spells and damage: RP wise nothing should leave lasting damage or affect anyone outside the duel. But since the room is pretty cramped, you might consider holding back on huge AoE spells cause you will hit the audience OOC xD ))

Not long after the Mage Duel, another Event was announced. An elf in Blue Clotheses would help Mischa hang out posters and hand out flyers....and probably try to stop everyone who again starts discussions about details or would again take down the posters before the end of the event. That "history" wouldn't repeat so easily this time!
There was promise of Music, Entertainment, Street fights, Food & Drink, and more Mage Duels!

Three stages were chosen for around three hours in lthe following order, as word has it:
The first outside the Temple of Mystra in the Eastway District, lead by Sirion & Tiawyn.
The Second one was inb front of the Orphange in the Heapside District lead by Sera Kelm.
The Third Stage would be in the Wide, near the Arena, and lead by Rose Wintertal.

Still they all were but helpers! In the center was the one Tymoran who pulled the wires and initiated the whole Spetacle: Mischa!

To whom it may concern

The Church of Torm has been made aware of the grave situation concerning the government of Amn's merciless arrest and persecution of mages. It has become evident that this pursuit is driven by vile ambition and a complete disregard for the innocent lives that are harmed or lost in the process.

In response to this notice, members of The Triad and Red Knight have taken up arms in an effort to resist those enforcing this unjust order. To those who find themselves fearful and without hope, know that aid and protection will be freely given. Though I speak only for myself, I have faith in the compassion and benevolence of The Heartlands. Many will rally to this call, offering assistance and sanctuary to those in need.

Let it be known that any word reaching The Temple of Torm in Baldur's Gate will be met with swift action. Paladins of The True Faith will respond to all who seek rescue from this blasphemous "law" concocted by the political evils of Amn.

To the people, adventurers, and faithful of The Heartlands, these mage hunters have brought death and suffering to countless innocent villages, even pursuing refugees far beyond Amn's borders. Though some may be misguided, the evil they have committed cannot be excused or ignored. I urge you to publicly offer refuge and aid to those fleeing the butchers of Amn. Place strict probation upon any bounty hunter affiliated with The Merchant's Domain, for they have attacked paladins who sought to protect children in the name of their mandate. If you fear direct involvement, you may forward any such needs to Torm's church of Baldur's Gate.

To those willing to stand against these atrocities, Alexander Marshal of Baldur's Gate and Sister Ashenie of Ilmater's Sanctuary have already taken bold stands against these evils. They have organized efforts to put an end to this abhorrent conduct. If you wish to join their noble cause, I urge you to seek them out.

To the Mage Hunters of Amn, I implore you to reconsider your actions and cease tormenting innocent children and civilians. Step aside from this path of darkness, lest you face justice at the edge of a blade and the fierce resistance of those who stand against tyranny and injustice. As for the soldiers, sheriffs, knights, and all other authorities of Amn, if you choose to violently uphold this evil command, be forewarned that there is at least one Tormite who intends to offer violence in defense of the innocent, no matter your authority.
